Finish failing after 6 months, AVOID!!!

We bought an entire bathroom of Delta faucets, and the shower handle hose started failing after 6 months. It flakes off in various places, not only in places of frequent bending. Worthless, avoid at all costs! See other similar reviews.

Finish failing

We installed a matte black shower hose to match the matte black Delta fixture 2 years ago. After 6 months the black finish started to peel and after each use there are more paint chips in the shower to clean up. We are regretting our matte black selections. I am a design engineer involved in major new construction and renovation projects. I will relay my personal experiences to my clients.

Very disappointing

My husband furnished our bathroom tub and shower with this delta product.Before one year was up the wand started flaking the bronze color off and now it looks horrible. we spent a lot of money on this product and I am very disappointed.

shower head hose chipped and looks awful.

We had our bathroom remodeled a couple of years ago. Everything looks great, EXCEPT this shower flexible hose from our new Delta shower head. The shower head is just fine....the hose (see photo) is Not. Very disappointed in the deterioration of the hose.

Flaking Finish

Finish on the hose doesn't last, the paint starts flaking and then gets worse and worse. Have been that long in the shower at all.

Delta shower hose

Finished beautiful bathroom last year costing thousands. It now looks cheap because the Delta shower hose paint has flaked off after 1 year off use. Even the Delta name tag quickly fell off the shower handle. For a setup that costs many of hundred dollars I am disappointed.

Flaky hose

We built a nice frameless shower to be the focal of our bathroom remodel and the hose is flaking paint after only a few months. For the price we paid and the history we have had with Delta products we didn’t expect this. Hoping Delta can help make it right.

Faulty finish

We built a beautiful new home and put in DELTA bathroom shower fixtures. We are surprised and disappointed because the finish is flaking off after only 4 months use! The hose part is the problem. See picture below. Quite a disappointment.

Finish peeling

I do not recommend this product. This came installed in our brand new house. Less that 3 years in, it is peeling on the hose. Thought Delta was a high quality brand. Guess not.

Do not buy matte black! Finish will flake off.

This hose has seen less than 2 years of use and the black paint finish is flaking off. Once it starts in one spot it gets progressively worse. Unless you expect to replace the hose ever 2 years do not buy. This was surprising considering I have soft water.

It looks good, but Delta should have already included something like this with its shower heads, instead of the cheap glossy hose that was included. The price for this hose is almost more than I paid for the whole shower head.

Looks Nice but Leaks

The stainless steel finish looks nice, but the hose leaked after only 2+ years of normal use. I know hoses eventually leak and don't last forever, but I would expect that a Delta hose would last at least 5 years before requiring replacement.

Great Customer Service

Installed a 57713 Slide Bar Hand Shower In Stainless ten years ago. It is a summer place so it only had six years of use when the outer casing separated from the hand held part. Called Customer Service, no hassle no problem. The repalcement is on its way. Thanks Delta CS.
