This is a gorgeous door! I live in Palm Beach County, Florida, have an historic 1924 Spanish Mission home, and bought the 32" right hand outswing door. It is not a hurricane impact door but is Florida product approved so I was able to get a permit but I will need to add shutters of some kind (am exploring hurricane cloth like Astro Guard). My door (ordered in January 2018, installed in March 2018) does have glass in the speakeasy opening which surprised me since others have stated theirs did not. It came well packed and undamaged. I took off a star because unfortunately the door itself leaks a bit when it rains. It leaks around the speakeasy glass (easily fixed with a tiny bit of black caulk) and also leaks at several of the wood joints of the door (not sure how to fix, may try a wood sealant of some kind). This door should really be installed only in a covered or protected opening where it does not get direct rain. Also, the finish does not appear sturdy enough to weather real exposure to the elements but it's so beautiful I am willing to live with the need to refinish it in a year or two.

I love this door so much I already purchased one and now I have to special order two more. It is a safe and beautiful door. The only negative is the speakeasy does not have a screen so we have to create one you can see the picture that I attached.

The door doesn’t fully close and shakes in the wind. When I contacted the manufacturer they basically told me to go pound sand. Extremely unprofessional. Highly recommend never buying a Steve’s and Sons product. Way overpriced, not well made and horrid customer service.

We bought one for our front door. We loved it so much we bought one for our back door. We love the speakeasy cutout to be able to talk to someone or just look outside without opening the door. This makes us a little safer. It came with longer than average screws which also makes it harder to kick in. The best door we've ever had.

Excellent product with the exception of the trim. I have gotten 4 of these types of doors and everyone had saw cuts and knots falling out of trim molding. The rest of product is great!

My wife and I just moved into our newly built home. During the construction phase, we were not pleased with the selection of doors offered by the builder. So we opted to purchase the main entry door ourselves. I saw a variation of this type of door at another retailer, but was quoted a price that was close to $5,000 for a similar door. This of course was not within our price range for a front door. Anyhow, after searching through several types of speakeasy doors on Home Depot's website, we found the Steves & Sons speakeasy rustic mahogany main entry door. I was so relieved to find this type of door, with a 6" pre-hung jamb, at under $1,500.00. I cannot comment on the ease of installation since the builder put it in for us, but he said it wasn't anything different than any other door that he installed before. He also said that it fit right into the frame where they had built a standard sized main entry. One thing I must add, this door can be scratched pretty easily, so please be careful during installation. While we were moving in, the interior side received a 4-5 inch scratch. I was able to minimize the appearance by using dark colored furniture oil, but the scratch is still there. I do not attribute this to the quality of the door's manufacture, it is just the nature of stained doors. Since we have moved in, we have received more compliments about our door than we ever expected. Everyone who sees it says something nice about it. If you want an awesome door with a workable speakeasy, that stands out and looks amazing, this is definitely the door for you.

You get what you pay for. No fake "distressed" look with this one. Heavy, shipped well, and just as expected.

I purchased this door online and had home depot install. It looks beautiful on our white stone house. Great quality! Make sure you have them come out and measure first so it is the right size. Takes several weeks to get in unless you have a standard size that they have in stock at the store.
