These are very pretty lamps
The lamps are very nice, however they could have been a little more sturdy. I live in La. so we have a great deal of storns, so I had cement poured in the ground to keep them in place. They were easy to install I am just wondering when it is time to change the batteries will they be that easy to remove the Light part of the post and remove the battery? Overall I am pleased with them.

Very nice lights with a cool spider lines
We thought the glass had broken in transit for the lights but it turns out it is the new design. It does produce a cool pattern in the driveway and provides light for the dark end near the garage. One of the batteries was bad but the manufacturer replaced it quickly and free of charge.

Attractive Solar Lamp Post with Variable Luminescence
This was a welcome decor change to an ordinary house front. I've wanted a lamp post. What's in the box? 4 Easy pieces. 1) The base gets screwed into cement - screws included. 2) Two lamp post pieces - one uses screws to go on and one is threaded. 3. A Solar Lamp threaded to easily screw on the post. What wasn't in my box? The screws were poorly packed, I was missing four screws that secure the first part of the pole to the base. Luckily, I had access to another set. First flaw I found that downgraded the quality was in the second screw on metal pole, it had a mfg flaw. Again, I'm from a former steele mfg state and study metal arts, this isn't a high quality heavy metal. That isn't always bad. In tropical storm areas of the country light weight pieces like this, installed so they can be brought inside, are better than a permanent heavy metal light. Before permanent installation I assembled the Lamp Post and set it on the base. The tools I needed were a Drill with a cement bit, a socket kit to secure the long screws provided and a level. I placed the lamp outside two days in a row to ensure it was fully charged. Then I decided where I would place the Electric eye, a plastic round piece seen in my photos below, before permanent installation on a base. The Low light setting stays on all night. The light has 3 positions, Low, Off, and Bright. The only place that the Motion Detector is of use is when the light is on Low. When Motion is detected the low light illuminates brighter. It doesn't seem much brighter, but I tested it on the night of a full moon. The 160 degree angle that the motion detector works on is somewhat erratic. It works with a small amount of motion, other times you have to be on top of it to make it work. But, I have this near an electric motion detector that is erratic, so that appears normal to me. This is attractive both from a distance and close up. The light works in the ten foot area and projects rings of light. Some people might not like the lamp glass, it appears rained on. That's how it was described to me. I like it. The last test of this Lamp Post will be how long the battery lasts. Hopefully I won't be finding out for a couple of years. We had a blackout last week so this Solar Lamp Post is needed for when my electric company fails again!

OK lamp, with some issues
There is a lot to like about a lamp that does not require an electrical supply. Unfortunately, this one also had a few issues. The good: The lamp is fairly well constructed out of aluminum, Assembly is very simple, one section is held together with 3 allen bolts (allen key supplied), the other sections just screw together. The globe is glass and not plastic. Rechargeable batteries are user changeable. All mounting hardware, and template are included (see picture). The lamp has 3 settings. High, Low (which turns to High, if motion detected), or Off. The bad: The finish is not very robust. My had chipped in the box before it arrived (see picture). The 3 holes that accept the allen bolts were poorly cut and made assembly fiddly. The unit is more of a feature lamp than a full size one (see picture next to my workshop door for scale). The batteries need replacing after 500 cycles, that is 500 days. The manual states they last for 'almost 2 years' at 500 cycles. 2 years is 730 days, so its closer to 1.5 years. The motion detector is on one side, so 360 degree motion detection is not possibly. If approached from behind or the side the light will not change to full brightness.

The light post is made of a very durable material and looks great! It was very easy to assemble, but we opted to buy longer bolts with a better expander than the ones that came in the set. It is very bright after sunset and casts a beautiful design on the entire front lawn. I would highly recommend!

Product is excellently made and the light does stay on all night when set in the " AUTO " position. That setting has the light at reduced power until the motion sensor is activated, then it goes to high power for a period of time and once again returning to the lower power

I have purchased four of these lights over the last few years. We love them as they do stay on all night; however, on this last light the top section which holds the light was tilted at an angle. My husband was unable to straighten it up since it came from the manufacturer like that.

This XEPA Post Lamp has a very good set of features: solar powered, integral battery, LED bulb, daylight sensor, motion sensor, and lightweight but adequate metal post. Assembly is easy. Over the month since I put it up, operation has been reliable. The 200 lumens it emits (this rises to 300 lumens when motion is detected) is enough to illuminate a small area at night, but only at a low level. This fits my needs but to fill the role of a traditional post lamp, it would need to be 2 to 4 times brighter (and so require more solar cells and a larger battery). My only complaint is that the top piece (the lamp) is canted over to one side slightly. But so far, I'm the only one who has noticed this.

Lasts! I bought one of these over 2 years ago. It lives outside in the South Florida weather bolted to a 12" paver. I even left it out during two hurricanes over this period. It still lights just like it did on day one. I placed an order for 7 more. I hope they have kept the same quality. Powdercoated Aluminum and glass construction

To sum up, the picture is wrong and the manufacturer didn't bother to change it. Most likely you will NOT get the water drop glass as in the picture, you will get the crackle glass instead. In my opinion, water drop glass (which I ordered the square version) looks much better than the spider-web look crackle glass. I received the crackle glass in my first order, I called the XEPA's customer service, they said there were 2 versions and blamed Home Depot on mixing them up (?). I called Home Depot customer service, they told me just to return my order and order another one. The second one came, it's also crackle glass. From other customers' reviews, seems all recent orders received crackle glass. If you care about the light pattern projected on the ground, be prepared you might not get what you want. As for function, it works fine as it is. The motion detection works and brighten up the light when I walked by, but the difference isn't that much. And don't expect it's good illumination purpose, it's more just for decoration. A 60W equivalent bulb outputs 600-800 lumens, so a 300 Lumen LED is half on high and even dimmer when no motion is detected.

              Great Back Yard Find
The solar post added a look of elegance to my backyard oasis. The post illuminates the garden area and is a cozy place to sit under while enjoying the outdoors. Love it!

              Best solar lights!
This is the best solar light I have ever purchased! It stays on all night and illuminates a large area. I live in the country and like the option of turning it off when I want to stargaze.

Wonderful lights. They really surprised me!
The lights were in the box, no damage. Putting them together was a breeze, kinda forgot to look at the instructions. Took about 10 minutes to put together. One was working out of the box and the other needed a full day's charge. they both stay on all night and cast an amazing shadow on the ground. I have only had them up for a couple of weeks, but they work fantastically so far.

Solar technology has came a long way for outdoor lighting. This unit actually does stay on all night!!! The craftsmanship and quality of the lamp exceeded my expectations and I am so pleased that I own 3 and i am going to purchase 2 more. LED lighting has really been a game changer and I love it.
