The measurements and picture for this product are incorrect. It says it is 17 inches, but no part of this is bigger than 14 inches. The top part in the picture appears to extend 3-4 inches beyond the part that fits in the 10" ID flue on each side, which would make sense with the 17 inch measurement given. However, in actuality the sides extend a mere 2 inches on each side of the round portion. This does not provide the amount of coverage needed for my uses and I will need to return this product. Very frustrating for both picture and measurements to be incorrect.

Unit was easy to install, would like to have seen a smaller mesh insert. I added a cylinder of galavanized wire mesh

as noted by another reviewer, it WON'T slide into a 10" pipe. forewarned, i went up on the roof with tinsnips and the cap. it fit in as far as I snipped a cut in the tube. plenty tight. as noted by the other reviewer, for over $100 savings, I can live with this inconvenience. works at a price point i can't beat.

This cap, according to the description "The Forever Round Cap will fit, single wall stove pipe, masonry round clay pipe, flexible chimney lining systems and double wall chimney pipe" So I bought this for my 10" clay liner and not only does it not "slip inside" but it fit around the liner needing a hose clamp to keep it in place. Great construction, good value, but not a good fit.

cap is advertized as "universal fit" ; however necessitated some alterations fit my double-walled chimney pipe . customizing required "slotting" the joint section to properly fit but it was relatively simple . good quality for the price -- alternative caps were pricier ....
