I put this opener on the storm door to make it easier for my disabled daughter who walks with a walker. Our weather varies from below zero to near 100 degrees. The opener is installed on the inside of the stormdoor. The door is protected by an awning. It works fine year round. It cycles from probably 10 to 50 or more times per day. It's a little slow compared to commercial openers, but it's ok once you get used to the slight pause before it opens. I am a doityourselfer and installation was not a problem. The remotes work good. I also installed my own push button switches on the inside and outside. This replaced a Skylink opener which quit working after several years, hence 4 stars rather than 5. (Remember, this opener is less than $200: commercial openers can run well over $1000 ).

Do not buy. Instructions are poorly written. Received a defective product.

The product was relatively easy to install. I had a problem with it not closing properly. I called customer service and we worked through it. It works well now. Good product so far.

I purchased for an exterior "screen" door leading to a wheelchair ramp. It is working perfectly with the separately-purchased Skylink Electromagnetic door lock. The opener is a bit challenging to install, but not too bad for someone who is handy. We also had to trim the weather-stripping at the bottom of the door to keep it from sticking. The opener is easy to program with the magnetic lock and extra remote controls, and for door travel distance. I had to call customer service; I only waited on hold a few minutes and although the first rep could not answer my question, he referred my ticket to a tech who called back within an hour and was VERY helpful, knowledgeable, and even gave me his personal e-mail address to send him pictures of my configuration. The problem I called about was that the unit would not disengage from the magnet. The tech told me to completely reprogram the unit with the magnet attached, and that did the trick. So if you purchase the magnet as well, make sure everything is installed before you do any programming. Overall a very good product that is perfect for my use case.

Works exactly as expected, and easy to install!

The unit that home depot sells DM-50 CANNOT be used on an outside door, as there is no way to lock it. The company Skylink makes another product with an electromagnet to lock door. The unit doesnt have enough power to open a door with weatherstripping. It is a piece of junk. stay away from this. Home Depot never seems to do their homework and have someone knowledgable write up the description. The other issue is the unit doesnt have the power to open an extrerior door.

Could not get it to work. Wasn't able to install it. Customer service from the company didn't help me. The swing arm would not stay in the bracket. It popped out when the door opened and when the door closed.

Pain in the butt installing it. Specially setting it up.

I’m very happy with this swing door opener. It was very easy to install and overall a great product for the money. I was pleasantly surprised how far the signal works with the remote. The only thing I would have done different is order the magnetic lock when I bought it to help secure the door when it’s closed. I would recommend this product to a friend.

A friend installed this for me on a screen door that goes out to my back porch. (It's not a sliding glass door type; it's an ordinary swing door.) It did not appear to be too difficult to install. I use a wheelchair to get around. This remote door opener makes it easy for me to not only get out onto my patio, but also to get back inside very easily.

Installed and after 3 opening events the product no longer works, or has power to it.

After looking at many door openers on the WEB, this one is the best value. My wife uses a Power Chair to get around the house and we need to keep our cats in one room most of the time. The Skylink DM100 has been reliable. We installed it a month ago. We did need to buy two keychain two button openers so we could have an opener on the PowerChair and on both sides of the door. Synchronizing the opener buttons was a challenge but with many attempts I finally got the right button to open and the other to close the door. It was easy to follow the instruction to mount the opener to the door.
