The temperature control isn't as accurate as it should be. For my application this is OK . I used it to replace a worn out Quartz space heater thermostat. It does cycle the heater on & off so it doesn't get too hot. That is what I needed. It can stay off longer than I like & doesn't stay on until the room is the temperature set. Still better than a space heater that doesn't work at all.

Hi James, we are sorry to hear that your thermostat is not as accurate as you’d like. A mechanical thermostat like this is typically accurate to between 3-5 degrees. If you are experiencing more variance than this please give our tech support team a call so we can find a solution for you: 855.223.3887. If you are looking for a more accurate thermostat, we would recommend upgrading to an electronic thermostat like this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Double-Pole-15-Amp-208-240-Volt-Digital-Electronic-Non-Programmable-Wall-Thermostat-in-White-TH114/202909807 which will be accurate to 1 degree. Just make sure that your total load is not more than 3600 watts.

I've replaced two old thermostats with this model in the past 6 months. Both have failed. I used it for electric baseboards in my two bathrooms. I've made very few adjustments to the thermostat (i.e. turning the dial) since install, and both have stopped working. My baseboards now run 24/7 and I have to shut them off at the breaker box. Item is cheaply made and doesn't hold up to even light use. Avoid.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear that you've replaced two thermostats and aren't happy with how the new ones are performing. There isn't enough detail in your review for me to know what exactly is going on here. Will you please give our tech support team a call so we can help troubleshoot the issue and get you replacements if necessary? 855.223.3887 As a side note, the single-pole thermostats do not have an "off" position. Turning the dial all the way to the left will put it on "low" which means the heater will turn on if the room drops to about 40 degrees. Double-pole thermostats have an actual "off" setting.

    Just what I needed.
I had the help of a "Chat" with one of Home Depots tech assistance. With his assistance I was sure that this was what I needed. Installed easily and works Great!

Of the two I purchased, one works acceptably well
One of these keeps a baseboard heater reasonably well controlled, but don't expect the numbers on the dial to mean the temperature of the room. The indicated temperature and actual temperature are about 10 degrees off. The second one was so far off I cannot make it turn the heat off if the temperature of the room is below 55 F. And once it comes on, it does not shut off until the room is much warmer. It has about a 15 degree glide between on and off.

    Solid, economical, well-made device.
I needed a line voltage thermostat for a rather specialized project involving freeze protection. The wide temperature range of this unit was perfect. Mounting was easy and the unit's quality was very good. I'm very happy.

    A flimsy product
The thermostat arrived with a housing obviously broken during assembly, causing me misgivings regarding the length of time the unit would be serviceable.

    Not accurate
Bought 4 of these. None seem to be calibrated from the factory. The instructions state set initial temp to 70 if after 2 hours temp is not satisfactory adjust. I would think the temp would be between 69 & 71 temp was off 5+ degrees. Would be ok to turn heat on and off and didn't care if it was accurate. I was afraid if I left cabin heat set on 40-45 it would not be accurate enough fo keep temp above freezing. Being an electrician I've installed many line voltage t-stats and never had had this problem.
