I did a lot of research before purchasing this kit, I have an old Moen standard valve and could not find any replacement kits that would fit it as easily as this Danco kit. It comes with three different plate options for the mountain screws, my choice was the two screws at the bottom, which is typically known for the Moen standard/château valve. The two other plates are for different types of Moen valves, the two optional handles available, make it easy for you to choose, I tried my luck with the black handle, which complements the finish a lot better than the clear plastic pull knob. The black handle simply pulls out, and then you can rotate left or right for hot and cold, installation was much easier than I had anticipated, I would highly recommend this, your other options would be to have to replace the entire valve or have to get a adapter installation plate Which I did as a back up but did not need it . I know a lot of people complain that the quality of the material is cheap, it is not that bad, considering the price and considering your other options of spending three times or more the amount to have to do major replacing of a valve.

Although I was a bit skeptical to purchase because the original was a Moen. I purchased it on advisement of one of your mature associates. He was knowledgeable. The plumber installed it and it works very well. I hope it last a long time.

Bought this handle 5 years ago for our master shower. Handle is peeling from the bottom and now in need of replacement. 5 years doesn’t seem like the lifespan I’d expect out of a shower handle. This has been a long-standing issue but it’s unfortunately reached a point of no return despite being as delicate as possible on the handle.

This trim kit was very easy to install and looks nice enough. However, the plate does not sit flush against the shower tile like my old one did. I think it is because the inner ring, where you put the wall pipe through the plate, sticks out about an eighth to a quarter inch higher than the outer edges. If you don't have a big enough hole in your tile, where the pipe comes through, for the inner ring of the plate to fit into, then this won't work for you. I plan to caulk around it for now.

This was supposed to be a brushed nickel set, but the finishes were mismatched out of the box. The handle is brushed, but the other peices are various levels of polished. The handle plating started flaking after a few months, and we ended up replacing it after only 8 months.

This brushed nickel finish is literally peeling off and it is only 6 months old. Junk. Don’t buy.

$50 for a cheap piece of plastic. Holes didnt line up for the cover, see image. Will be returning ASAP, very disappointed. Not even close!

This product it just perfect for simple installation.

I bought this Danco shower trim kit today thinking it was a quality product...it is NOT...it is the biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. I ended up cleaning and refinishing my old 20 year Moen set and throwing this Danco product in the trash. The plate is plastic and not brushed nickel. You have to assemble and disassemble too many parts to try and make it work- all points where water leaking can occur. In the end, the fit is poor as is the quality. DO NOT BUY this kit...it is a lot of money for a plastic piece of crap. I bought two and will be returning the unopened one. Very disappointed.

The outer ring does not appear to be brushed nickel at all. The inner ring sets further back than exhibited and has screws evident that are not exhibited in the picture. The handle does not fit anywhere near flush. Very disappointed with this replacement purchase.

Installed a month ago and already it is corroding, I called Home Depot for warranty info and even they couldn't find address. It does say 1 year but no instruction to begin. I had this professionally installed with a shower renovation.

Good quality with many options

This is made of plastic, the kit is complicated and, after installing it, the hex screw got stuck. I would leave it in place except the faceplace didn't even line up with the wall so now I'm facing serious water damage if I don't fix it. I'm so mad ad Home Depot for selling this to me that I'm going on a strict NO Home Depot diet for a year. Whoever OKd this in the procurement department should be forced to install this in their own home and live with it for a month.

I purchased this because I was very limited on oil rubbed bronze shower handles that fit my existing valve. It looks okay but will see how it does after time.

Handle is wobbly, as reported by others. I can kind of get over that. But after having this thing about a year, the brushed nickel finish peels off. The peeling substance is SO sharp that I’ve sliced myself twice to the point of bleeding. At this price point, I can’t (won’t) afford to replace this yearly so upgrading to a better option.

The finish on this piece is already coming off after 6 months of use. This is very poor quality.

Just replaced this after having it installed for less than a year. It did not mount flush against the wall, and the black gasket turned the clear silicone to fill the gap dark. It discolored to a milky white color from using standard shower cleaners. The metal handle hardware would wiggle, even with the hardware so tight I stripped the bolt trying to take it out on replacement. Very disappointed.

This is a really poor quality product. I bough tree of them, and in lest than 2 weeks the Niquel covering was damaged. I called the company to get the replacement, and they didn't help me at all. The customer service is really bad. I highly recommend to do not buy this product !

First of all, if you have an old Moen valve and you don't want to pay a plumber to tear out the wall and install a more up to date version, this is about the cheapest option you can find for updating your trim. The base plate is plastic. I think the only part that is actually metal is the handle. Pluses: - It fit my 1985 Moen valve and has multiple wall plates with various screw positions - It still looks better than the gross old trim and 'teardrop knob' Minuses: - DO NOT USE THE HEX SCREW IN THE KIT TO ATTACH THE METAL HANDLE! I made this mistake and when I tried to loosen the screw to remove the handle because it was wobbly IT GOT STUCK. I SPENT 3 HOURS DRILLING/USING A HACKSAW TO GET THE METAL HANDLE OFF. - I got a replacement kit and had the hardware person look at the screw - he matched it with a 1" pan head phillips head #6 stainless steel screw (stainless won't rust). That way I can screw in the screw and the head will be flush with the opening. The screw that comes with the kit requires an Allen Key and is recessed inside the metal housing and multiple reviewers confirm that the screw gets stuck. - Unless you're on a budget and want a cheap trim upgrade it's probably better to get a new valve installed so you can use the latest Moen trim. Moen kits come with a new value. - Plastic base plate is kind of icky - Base plate won't be flush with wall unless you have a 3.5" hole in the wall

Good product. Looks good and reasonably priced. Instructions not good. errors in a few places which caused some confusion.

Do not buy this if you have a thin-wall installation (most common modern install that doesn't use drywall behind the shower wall). because this plate will not fit flush to the wall due to the center hub not being flush with the outside ring. A lot of money for what you get. Danco told me I had to enlarge the hole in the enclosure to accommodate the center hub, but with a thin wall install, the trim plate mounting bracket is right behind the wall, so even if the hole was large enough for the hub, it would still bottom out and leave the gap. Don't get tricked into doing a lot of extra work and getting the same result.

We wanted to update our shower valve trim since we were retiling the shower. This kit had alot of different pieces to allow it to fit many different configurations. We found the one that worked, put it on and have loved it ever since. Saved a lot of time and money not having to replace entire shower mixing valve assembly!

Excellent product at a very reasonable price. However, the original trim kit installed flush against the shower tile. This replacement has a circular lip that did not fit in the (very small) tile opening. I had to enlarge the opening using a hammer and chisel. However, I feel that the installed product will be better at preventing leaks into the wall than its predecessor.

I was impressed by the flexibility this trim kit provided. The kit included three different inner rings to accommodate the screw patterns of multiple tub/shower valves. It also offers two different handles. The brushed nickel finish looks great and this trim kit gave my tub a needed facelift.
