Waste of Time and Money
I was almost sold on Sharkbite, until I was forced to "undo" a fitting, using the disconnect clips. The in store demonstration of the removal process was nothing like my personal experience. In real life, I found myself in a cold and muddy 26" crawl space cutting the fitting off, like I've done, for the last two decades, except at four times the cost.

Good morning, We are sorry to hear about the issues you experience when trying to remove our products. Our main design for SharkBite is to stay on the pipe. Removing them can be difficult. The difficulty can only increase as you install them in difficult locations. If you are using SharkBite products often, you could look at getting disconnect tongs. These could allow you better grip and easier removal.
    Get the tongs tool instead!
Will this work to remove a Sharkbite push to connect fitting? Probably, but not absolutely. Is it better than not having one? Yes. Should you have to pay for it? NO. This cheap piece of plastic should come with every Sharkbite fitting. Buy the tongs-style tool instead. Trust me and...you really don't want to have to rely on this one.

The tool works but takes a good amount of force to engage and push the sleeve in and depress the stainless teeth.

      Waste of $2
All this thing does is destroy the plastic part of the shark bite fitting. Lots of four letter words were shared while using this worthless tool. All for nothing and to end up having to cut the fitting out anyways.

I bought this since I had to redo some sink piping and this tool did not do anything that it’s supposed to do. I rarely rate a product 1 star, but shark bite, which I thought was an amazing product, just fooled me with this product. Shark bite needs to come up with a better tool to undo!

              Disconnect clip is a joke
Have bought Sharkbite couplings before and installed them as directed. N Haven't had a need to remove any until today. Bought two today to replace a shutoff valve and couple a water supply line to a hot water heater. Because i=of another soldered joint leaking with all the pipe movement I had to uncouple the valve from the 3/4 inch copper pipe. I worked at it for over 30 minutes then enlisted my son in law (a licensed building contractor) who took another 7 minutes to finally remove it. The orange horseshow shaped tool is worthless! Next time I need such a repair I'll either make certain there can be NO removal needed in my lifetime or go Old School and solder the joint/valve. Wished I had spent the $8 for the tong removal tool.

                Complete fail
I’ve used these and also the special plier tool. Neither of them is very effective. Best option is to use appropriately-sized crescent wrench. Just fit the wrench to the pipe or tubing, then slide against the sharkbite fitting, and pull it off. Works best for me.

                  Quick installation, impossible to remove
I thought this was the most wonderful product until it was time to remove the SharkBite fitting. "Easy" disconnect couldn't be further from the truth. I've been wrestling with this for the last hour and it hasn't budged. I am following the instructions as well so this has nothing to do with operator error.

not sure other reviewers knew what they were doing
I am a professional remodeler contractor that is constantly using pex to copper or pex to pvc with shark bite connections. When you consider you are using a fitting designed to be water tight, the fact that it can be removed at all is remarkable. Today was the first time i needed to remove a shark bite temporarily. The removal clip worked far easier than i would have thought. I had my helper pull the pipe opposite of me pushing in the disconnect (shark bite has a video). The shark bite released so easily I lost my balance. Maybe because i was using on 3/4 copper to 3/4 copper - but it worked as described. Maybe other users were using connectors not made by shark bite, or trying to disconnect from pex. But it worked for me

                      Disconnect tool
This tool is as close to worthless as you can get. A waste of time and money. Ended up cutting out four fittings to fix a defective one.

Good morning, We are sorry for the issues you experienced with our fittings. It can be hard to remove our fittings as we design them to hold onto the pipes as priority number one. If you have issues with using the clip, you could look at using our tongs as it will allow you more leverage (link here: http://www.sharkbite.com/search/Tongs/ ) We would like to thank you for providing us with your feedback. All feedback is taken seriously as we strive to make our product better. We want to apologize again for the issues you experienced and hope you allow us another chance to work with you in the future.
                        Great little tool
This tool is a must have when installing any Sharkbite connections. I just installed two 3/4" connections. The first one went on just great, very quickly. With the second one, the connection went in halfway and stopped. I went down to my local hardware store and picked up this tool and very quickly removed the second connector and found a little bump on the underside of the pipe that prevented complete installation. I removed the bump and successfully reinstalled the connection all the way on. Without this little tool I would have been stuck with a failed installation.

                          disconnect clip
I have had no success with the disconnect tool. The white tubing does not come out. Your video makes it look easy but not so. I buy additional joints to take care of leaks, but that is more $$.

Good morning, We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues using our Disconnect tool. While we have designed our product to be removed, we acknowledge that it can be tough to remove. Fittings can come off, but we want them to be strong enough to stay on the pipe. We'd love for you to reach out to us so we can get a better understanding of your issue and maybe provide a different way to tackle the removal using the Disconnect Tool. Feel free to reach out to us by phone at 1-877-700-4242 between 8 am - 6 pm EST Monday through Friday or by e-mail at techsupport@cashacme.com.
                            Absolutely worthless
I was told to buy the disconnect clip because it will be the best $2 you will ever spend. The Sharkbite fitting I installed did not seat the full 3/4 of an inch and when I tried to remove it with the disconnect clip, nothing moved. After pulling the clip towards the fitting with my right hand and pulling on the copper pipe with my left hand for at least 10 minutes, I decided it was better to make a second cut on the copper pipe below the Sharkbit fitting versus inadvertently bending the copper. I ended up making another trip to HD, buying a second fitting and a longer hose. I have taken the fitting with copper in it to my workbench and still cannot disconnect the copper with the clip. My experience with Sharkbite is buy double.

Good afternoon, We are sorry to hear about your experience removing our SharkBite fitting. Our fittings do offer the ability to be removed but can be hard to do sometimes. We pride ourselves on the grip our fittings will form on pipe and understand the inconvenience of our fittings holding on tighter than planned. We'd be happy to send you some disconnect tongs to help with removal of a SharkBite fitting for future issues. Please feel free to reach out to techsupport@cashacme.com.
