The SharkBite is just the first step in renovating this...
The SharkBite is just the first step in renovating this old log home. My contractor reworked all the water lines so that this old house can withstand another 70+ years and it all begins with the SharkBite Pex system.

      Cheap, Plastic JUNK!
It leaked right out of the box. If you putting this in a area like a laundry/utility room don't if there is any risk of being bumped what so ever it will crack the main manifold. The other reviews about the water pressure are right it can not with stand medium water pressure 60 PSI well its too fragile. Do not buy these cheap plastic one buy the all copper and brass manifold save your house from flooding.

      Pitiful
I was amazed at how pitiful this product is, especially for the well over 300 price tag. After opening the box and being very disappointed with the quality of this manifold I decided to go ahead and install it anyway. Well I finally got the water turned on today and yep, it leaks, not only that but the main leak is due to a crack in the plastic housing one of the valves screws on, so it is totally useless. I went online and found the other bad reviews and the message from Shark Bite to another customer with their phone number and asking him to call them. I called Shark bite and they were no help at all, he said all he could say was to return it to the store for an exchange or refund. I explained to him that stuff like this will destroy his companies reputation but he did not seem to care. I also tried to call Flair-It, which is apparently the actual manufacturer but they sent me to voice mail. Oh well, back to the drawing board on my entire plumbing system, what a waste of time and money.

Hello - We apologize for the difficulty you had with our product, the damage to your manifold would have occurred post manufacturing, as we inspect each manifold before it is sent out. The damage likely occurred during shipping of the product. We did offer to send a new one out, or if you wanted to return to store they would replace as well. Again we apologize for the poor experience and if we can do anything additional for you please feel free to give us a call back. SharkBiteCashAcme

      This product is terrible.
First let me say that this is the first negative product review I've ever written. Second let me make it very clear that I love "Shark Bite" products (with the sole exception of this one product). I've used and purchased many Shark Bite products and their products are well made, wonderfully engineered, and easy to use. I recommend them to others. But I must say that this manifold is GARBAGE!!!! It is poorly engineered. The valves are cheep and leak under reasonably pressure. One valve arrived with it's set screw stripped. Since the stores don't carry this valve you can not replace it quickly. I replaced an entire plumbing system for a quadriplegic's home. I designed the system around this manifold so nurses and family could turn off any plumbing areas easily and quickly with out turning off all the water! I ran hundreds of feet of Pex so every fixture or component would have its own line. This all went down the drain (pun intended) when this stupid manifold failed!!!! Two of the valves leaked around the plastic threads even though I initially installed them with teflon tape! I decided to bi pass the two leaking ports and tried sealing them with marine grade epoxy, marine grade (under water curing) epoxy putty and silicone. Nothing worked. None of these adhesives would bond with the plastic even though I had initially removed the mold-release from the plastic with acetone! (I have a background with boats, diving and marine aquariums). Been there, done that and bought the tee shirt. Since I had no way of knowing this product was so defective until it was installed, I now had no water to this poor guys house until this product could be exchanged or replaced. They are not sold in the stores (I now know why) so this house had no water for 2 days while I ripped this product out and ran around trying to find the large copper manifolds (which are not sold at the stores either). I had to replace it with multiple 4 port manifolds run in series and then I had to buy numerous ball valves too. I must say that the store (on behalf of the website) refunded my money and treated me very well. The end result was that I bought 1,500 feet of pex pipe to accommodate this item when if I hadn't designed around this manifold I would have only needed about 400 feet! This was a very expensive part and for that price should have been entirely made of metal!!!!! This product cost numerous hours of needless labor and material, trips to the store, etc, and was a major inconvenience for the home owner (who as stated, was a crippled war veteran). Now, all this being said (can you tell I'm unhappy) when I first looked at this part when it came in the mail it appeared to not be of the same quality of other Shark Bite products. This turned out to be true! Upon closer inspection I could tell it wasn't made by them but some other company. Please Shark Bite, ditch these guys before they give you a bad name!!! In closing, buy Shark Bite products! They are great!!! I continue to do so! But, do not buy any of these plastic manifolds!!!!

      DH,

Thank you for your praise of SharkBite products. We apologize for the poor experience you had using the 24-Port Manifold. It is apparent that you had difficulty with the valves on the manifold sealing properly to the threads. If you could give our customer service team a call so that we can find out what store you returned the manifold to we will try and get it back so we can test it in our lab. If you ever have any difficulty with any of our products in the future please give us a call first and we will make sure to take care of you and resolve your issue quickly! Thank you! 1-877-700-4242 SharkBiteCashAcme

        Bad Manifold
I just recently bought these. The 3/4 inlet and outlet threads both leak no matter how much tape is used. I spent over $300 dollars per manifold and I would expect them to work perfectly for that amount of money. Whoever designed these threads did a very poor job.
