I am extremely satisfied with the complete Trex Seclusion fencing system purchased thru home depot. Very high quality product/solution. Of course more expensive than other vinyl or wood products but you get what you pay for. Fit, Finish, Strength, Durability and Instructions all top notch. My end goal was the last fence I will ever need to install and/or replace.I believe that I reached that goal.

I love this composite gate. It looks great! I have one little concern about hardware. If you open the gate from right to left and going to backyard side, the handle outside to get in to gate is perfect, just push down. If you open the gate from left to right, the handle outside need lift up, it is not comfortable at all. And the gap between the gate and both posts are big. Finally, I bought a different hardware instead.

Trex does not stand behind their warranty
The squirrels love the fence post caps. They sharpen their teeth and destroy the fence faster than any termites.
The tannin staining makes the fence look old and unattractive. It is recommended that you clean the fence twice a year. Never had to do that with my previous wooden fence.
My condo complex had them professionally installed. Many of the gates do not close properly and the bottom of the fences on the end units are so high off the ground that raccoons and possums can easily gain access to the patio area and pet dogs can easily escape.
There are many sharp angles on the fences that do not align with the adjoining piece.
My recommendation is to stay clear of Trex and FDS their fabricators.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the product. Regarding squirrels, there is nothing in the Trex material that would attract squirrels. However it is just what the squirrel decided to chew on and once they start chewing on something they are creatures of habit and will continue to chew on the same thing. Regarding staining, Trex can provide cleaning information to best assist if needed. Lastly for installation concerns Trex recommends reaching out to the contractor to discuss. Awesome gate. Arrives as a single piece assembled. Also, note that you get a steel post to insert into your trex post that you will attach the gate to. We did not know this when we purchased as it was not apparent from Home Depot photos on the site. We would up sinking a wood post prior wit trex

Very nice gate
Installed this gate on a block wall and it looks terrific. Very sturdy gate. I would highly recommend it.
