So, I spent approximately $150 to update my entry door with this "oil rubbed bronze finish" After a few days of rain in Southern Calif and no extreme temperatures, I notice major discoloration on the handle set to an ugly, muted gold color. A google search says to apply vegetabke oil to renew the color Tried that, which revealed that what actually is happening is Schlage placed a cheap coating over glossy black handles to achieve a fake oil rubbed bronze look! The cheap coating flakes off with little effort from my paper-thin fingernails and oil with a soft cloth. Now my handle is a cheap, unattractive mix of shiny black, muted gold and fake oil rubbed bronze. Now I need to invest time and money to remove the set, return after one year of light use, on a covered entry, install a new handle set and re-key?? This is junk and so disappointing and frustrating!! Shame on you Schlage. Don't waste your money.

We purchased this and two additional knobs to match other exterior doors. The entry door thumb lever became hard to depress the first year and then failed to open the door within 2 years. We rarely use the door it is installed on, so it was not a matter of wear. The inside knob is loose and difficult to turn. One of the additional knobs has come loose on the inside, the finish is peeling, and will require immediate replacement. We bought this door hardware based on brand, but it seems that the Schlage quality is no longer there. The value isn't there either if you need to replace the knobs every 1 to 2 years. Very disappointed!

Do not buy this product! It looks good, but..... The thumb lever has always stuck intermittently and now the cylinder has frozen up so the key will not turn. Obviously, now we are replacing it with another brand. We had this product approximately one year before it failed.

The box was short parts in addition to the photo being decieving as to color and finish. This is the only option though if you're in need of replacement parts. ( In our case, the thumb thingy broke.)

The item is beautiful and functional. However, be prepared for delivery of a matte brown handle with a rougher texture than the photo suggests. There are no undertones, red, gold, or otherwise.
