This was the first time I've bought Schlage locks for my home, but I needed to find something that worked better than the "cheap" brand. Hopefully you get what you pay for, as the last ones I had cost about 1/3 the amount for 2 door knob/locks, but only worked for about a year and a half. I remembered that we only used Schlage locks at the factory I used to work at, so am hoping that the quality is still there. So far I'm impressed with the ease of installation and how easy the locks work. Only installed them a week ago, but am happy to this point anyway. One note: If you're not sure how to install door locks, you should try to watch the on-line tutorial, as the directions that come with the assembly pretty much consist of a few pictures. This was the first time I've installed without any help, and it went pretty well.

The door knob looks fine and is easy to install, but does not work. The door cannot be locked with the provided key; the key can only unlock the door. The door can only be locked from the other side using the twist lock. The twist lock does not prevent the door from opening. The door, therefore, is always unlocked on one side, regardless of the twist lock's position. I cannot think of any scenario where such a door knob would be appropriate.

Easy enough to install, but the instruction sheet lacked much information. No where do they spell out how it's suppose to work. I could not lock it from outside with the key, and then remove the key. The lock must be unlocked to remove the key. Once it's locked from the inside with the rotating button, when you rotate the knob to open the locked door, it unlocks the door, and if you want it locked, you have to lock it with the button My other locks stay locked when opening them, until you rotate the button to the open position. Maybe I installed wrong, but I tried to call customer service twice to find out, (11 minutes and 23 minutse waits) before I hung up.
