    Looks Great
After reading the reviews I was skeptical about buying these. After debating about it all summer, I decided to try them. I am very happy with the purchase, they look very realistic. I have not noticed any sort of a foul smell. Would highly recommend.

I had these logs since 2015 and they are still going strong. We had one broken log when they came in, but with a simple call to the manufacturer, they sent us a new one right away. These look great when they are on and burning. The install was simple and quick. We always get compliments from our guests about our fire place. We have a 1200 sq ft ranch style home and these logs put out enough heat to keep the entire first floor of our home comfortable.

My only criticism is the included gas supply tube. It was impossible to bend it to shape as the instructions indicated. I was afraid I was going to break it, and I finally gave up trying to bend it. After making a trip to Home Depot to purchase a flexible gas line, installation was a breeze. Why not include a flexible line instead of a rigid tube? This is the only reason I am not rating it 5 stars. We've already used it several times since installing it a few weeks ago, and even at the low setting it puts out a lot of heat. We really love the remote!

The unit is fantastic and I cannot rave about it enough. It heats our whole house and it is beautiful. Now why do I only give it 4 stars. The remote not only has batteries in the hand held remote but also has batteries inside the fireplace. You need to take apart and unscrew the unit to change the batteries We are using it without the remote which was wonderful when it had working batteries.

I'm not real happy with this purchase. I guess the positive is that the fire has a really nice appearance. The negatives are the remote did finally work after loading and reloading the batteries 2 times and attempting to get the receiver and remote to communicate. The receive is mounted in the unit so that it keeps the feet from touching the floor. I was able to cut the mounting hole out and grind the switch plate enough to make it work. The logs don't stack as the instructions show. The back log isn't high enough for the others to contact it. The remote is a simple on off switch not temperature control. The last unit I had would shut down when it reached a certain temperature. This one burns at a reduce height which I guess is the way it is designed. Don't want to seem real picky, but the lo high switch seems to turn backward from it's markings. There is an arrow on the unit that when the lo or hi are at it, it is in the correct position. They also occasionally light at the jet where the gas goes into the burner. I had this same problem with my last unit so it maybe something that happens I'll have to study further. I have found a remote unit with temperature that will work with it for around $100. which I'm debating on doing the upgrade in the near future. My old unit also had a screen and the controls for the logs where below the firebox which had the advantage of you didn't have to move the screen to get to the controls or pilot light items.

The HD website said this item was in stock at the Texarkana HD. But after making a run over there to pick it up, it wasn't in stock after all. I knew that I could order it and have it delivered to my home by December 27th, so I checked to see if I could order it there and pick it up at HD. Sure I could! But it would take more than a week longer to have it shipped to the store than to have it shipped to my house. I went home, ordered it online, and had it shipped to my house with free shipping. It arrived early, the day before Christmas, intact, with no missing or damaged parts. The only thing to improve on was that the unit comes with a rigid 1/4" gas tube about 18 " long to connect the unit to the gas line in the fire place. If your gas line is on the left side, as mine was, this makes this tube useless, since the connection on the unit is on the right side. I had to lay out an additional $18 to get a flexible gas connection tube to make the hook up. One improvement in design I would suggest is to put the piezo electric push button lighter somewhere on the front of the unit, rather than over on the far left side of the unit. The on/off and flame controls are on the right side of the unit's front panel-- visible and convenient. The instructions for this unit which say plainly that this unit cannot be field converted to burn propane/LP gas, nevertheless spent pages and pages of the instructions with details of installing an LP unit, rather than the natural gas unit I had purchased. This meant that one had to pay very close attention to them to know what was relevant and what wasn't. I even had to have a short conversation with a master plumber friend to clarify a point or two because of the differences between the two. If they would ship instructions that detailed the installation for only the natural gas unit with the natural gas sets, they would save a lot of paper and make the installation much easier. The remote control works great, but only turn the unit off and on-- it does not adjust the flame height. For the price, this unit was a bargain. Home Depot could improve its shipping to store practices, and the manufacturer could improve their instructions for the natural gas units, but this thing looks good, works well, and was had at a good price. If I get 7+ years use out of this one, it will have been a bargain.

We first purchased a log set from Kozy World through Tru Value absolute garbage right out of the box! We ordered this at Home Depot it was a breeze to assemble and install and worked perfect from day one including the remote control. Its been in for almost a month now used countless times and not one problem. I would not hesitate to recommend this to any one but the best part is that it $70.00 less than Tru Value ! Excellent purchase!

These gas logs by Emberglow work well. It took a few days for the new "chemical" smell to burn off. But once the logs had been used a few days, the smell was mostly gone. The unit easily heats my small four-room + bath, 901 sq. ft home from the parlor fireplace in moderately cold weather (45-55 degrees outside). Weather has not gotten down into the 20s and teens yet, so still waiting for that happen. I would recommend this product. Also, I like the ignitor switch, instead of having to use matches. Nice feature.

The unit heats up our room great. However the imitation logs prevent heating up. Also the imitation logs are very smelly for first many hours. So we had to use it without the logs though it look little ugly. It is easy to use as long as the pilot is kept on. The remote control works good too.

This log set was simple to install, gives a very realistic log appearance, and the remote is a nice perk. The pilot does make some sound, but it is not unexpected. I checed the package contents for damage before picking it up at the store. I gave a lower over rating due to the fact I wanted an ember bed to glow underneath the log set but the installation guide warned that using lava rock and embers could damage the components. The packaging or description should have included this restriction.

Vent free natural gas fireplace with remote
Vent free natural gas fireplace was easy to install. We were replacing older vent free fireplace. It works perfectly with the remote. Love the remote feature with this fireplace. It is so easy to use and has lock out button. Would recommend to anyone looking at vent free natural gas fireplaces.

This product heats the family room well.
The unit is a bit lightweight and I had to use some spacers under the legs so the unit would not move. I had to remove the unit after I had installed it in order to correct a factory wiring issue; the control wires were shorted to each other at the terminal block. Once I corrected that problem, the unit would light and worked well. As stated in another review, I agree that the pilot light is a bit intense.

Very feature laden product available at a great price
We were replacing an inoperative gas fire log set with a Vent-Free style and found this Savannah Oak set on the Home Depot website. This particular unit provided a direct replacement size that required no modifications and offered a wireless remote control - a great feature. Installation was very easy and straight forward. Very easy to operate with the remote. The only downside that we found with a vent free gas log design, is that the flame height is lower and not as prominent as a regular gas log set.

                  Great for warming a room
Replaced my vented gas logs with this vent free system...what a difference! Heats my 25x15 family room quickly. Since I don't like the ignitor pilot burning constantly, I light it manually for each use..a bit of a pain, but not a deal breaker. Overall, they look pretty real and do the job warming a room for a reasonable price.

The pilot light is about 6 inches long and must be taking the gas that would be used if I had a kitchen stove small burner on
I like the remote control and the fire look is beautiful. One log was broken in shipping and they are due to send another one next week. The pilot light worries me as it is so large and they told me there was no adjustment on it. There should be a way to turn the flame down to a normal level. The logs on the outer edges are warm to the touch from the pilot. I paid to have it installed and the installer could not find a control to lower the flame on the pilot. I can't afford to have it taken out and another one installed. Other than the pilot light I could give it a good review.

                      Difficult to maintain
This log set is now one year old. It was professionally installed. I found that the heat output is great. Putting in batteries was a chore and the second time batteries had to be installed the selector switch fell apart. So removing the remote receiver it was clear why. The receiver was flimsy at best with basically nothing holding the switch in place. Operate all aspects of a log set before buying, in particular install batteries and feel the steadiness of parts that one has to operate.
