My stairs were getting scratched by the family pets, so to dress up the stairs, I thought of stair treads. I looked on many sites and these are perfect! They are thick and beautiful! The design is classic and not gaudy or busy, like some I looked at. I started out with four and I will be ordering the rest. I am very pleased with this purchase. What a difference it makes, walking up the stairs on the comfortable thickness, as opposed to hardwood, yet full carpeting did not work for us.

Beautiful pattern and soft underfoot. I bought it as a trial and it passed, except that I need the wider version as my stairs are wide.

Nice quality stair treads! Very attractive and nice to walk on! My husband installed them, on our basement stairs, last November (2014). We painted the stairs dark brown and the risers white. The treads appear to be very durable, and are holding up well! Ours are in a heavy (very heavy) traffic area, with no signs of wear, so far. My husband said they were really easy to install, and we have received so many compliments on them! I would only suggest.. if one has pets (with light colored fur) , who shed.. to consider a lighter color (or pick a dark brown carpet tread with more design in it) . Light colored dog hairs do show on the mostly dark brown centers of these treads.. so I have to vacuum often. Very happy with them though!

Great selection of carpet treads.... The one we chose was beautiful and very easy to install! The product arrived earlier than expected and totally enhances our staircase as well as being soft on our feet. A true safety factor, as well, to prevent slipping on wood.

We got this stair runner 10 years ago, installed by Home Depot. Still looks gorgeous. That, in spite of winters and dogs. The brass rods are still shiny and only cost ~$13 a piece from HD. (Other places were charging $53/rod...!!!) The carpeting is very durable and wears very well. Color and design are still beautiful. The stairs look regal. I shopped for years and finally settled for this product. Couldn't be more pleased. Our steps are padded, which makes them so comfortable on bare feet going up to our bedrooms. You won't go wrong with this product! Stop shopping around and come to Home Depot. They have an incredible selection of carpeting online as well as in the store at Holt Avenue, in Milwaukee WI. Their carpeting and installation are also reasonably priced. Many of their carpets are quality - made in Belgiums and have a very numerous tread count which is what makes them so durable.(Thread count is number of threads per inch.)

Thick and beautifully finished.

Nice and thick but the edges seem poorly finished - loose and uneven / excess material noticed before installation. We installed them but are not optimistic about longevity and, considering the price, not particularly impressed with the quality.

Had to return 4 out of 12 treads because of poor stitching. Edges are stitched poorly as they continue to break apart. They are nice and thick and look pretty but won't last long. Pretty expensive for the price.

I bought tread covers for ornamental reasons, but also because the material gives my dog more traction when descending the stairs. As a bonus, the plush material feels nice under the human feet too. I rated 4 stars instead of 5 because the underside material had some loose binding.

the manufacturer could not make the tread in our depth so we bought none. Needed 11 inches and they only do 9.

The stair tread carpets are very nice, but wish they came with the adhesive tape because there is no rubber or non slip backing

Nice thick and stayed down with tape...

The online picture of the runner looked perfect but just in case I ordered the (returnable) stair tread to double check the colors. Although the online pic showed a hint of pale orange or pale rust tint to the interior symbols and richer browns and tan along the edges, the actual colors are washed out tans (except the dark brown background). Glad I checked the colors and did not just order the non-returnable runner.

Impressive!! 1/2 or 1/4 of an inch longer that described/for the border.

Good quality. Excellent looks. And since installation, I haven't seen any wear or significant changes. I must say that we are only two of us in the house. The installation was a breeze. I used the two sided Scotch tape (it is not corrosive on the wood of the steps, and if we come to a time for replacement or removal, the glue is easy to remove). I have laminated wood (I suspect that natural wood could be more sensitive, in case of removal). In summary, we have been very pleased with our project. Joe S.

The product is attractive and easy to install but after onley one month the edges have begun to fray and for that kind of money it is very disappointing

These treads really dress of my bare wood stairs. Bought two sets for two staircases. I like this more costly version than some of the other treads, it's worth it if you want a rich high quality look. Lots of beautiful patterns to choose but this I like due to it's classy, elegant look.

We put in beautiful oak stair treads purchased through Home Depot and since dogs slip on them, decided to purchase these stair treads. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the quality. I had to immediately return one because it was mis-sized but now 4 out of 12 are coming unraveled at the outside binding edge. I've only had these 2 weeks!!!!
