Disappointing Refrigerator
As many others have noted, the ice maker freezes up and has to be thawed out constantly. A hair dryer is required to completely melt. This refrigerator has been a huge disappointment. The fact that Samsung is aware of the issue but has done nothing about it is very disappointing. We will no longer buy any Samsung products until we feel confident they will stand behind their product and its performance.

    The worst fridge in the market.
    I inherited this 2014 Samsung refrigerator when I bought the condo. It broke 3 times in the past with over $1,600 in repairs. The ice maker never works and has a manufacturing defect. Starting in 2019, the fridge started to leak. The moisture content in the fridge is high causing all my food to spoil after just one day.

      Icemaker is Still Freezing Up
      Still having the same problem that I reported a month ago; I just spent almost an hour with a hair dryer removing all the ice (not frost) blocking the ice maker - "We have had this refrigerator for several years and at first we really liked it. It is spacious, well designed, and the cooling works great. However, if I knew then what I know now, we wouldn't have purchased it. Starting about a year or so after we bought it, the ice maker would get clogged with ice and I would have to chip the ice out with a screwdriver to fix it. More recently, I have to use a hairdryer every 3-4 weeks to remove the ice, which is very annoying. Note that many other people have complained about this problem with the icemaker, both on the Samsung website and on other websites. If anyone has a solution for this problem, please let me know. I have searched but not found any solutions."

        Drawer went out
        Our flex zone draw stopped showing the temperature and we are unable to select between options. Now it freezes the items that we have in the drawer and is ruining so many items. This happened right after we just had someone hear to fix the ice maker and it went out of warranty. We had so many issues. What a disappointment and a waste as we have had it for approximately 3-4 years I believe. For this amount of money it should last way longer.

          Ice maker issue
          Overall it’s good . If I didn’t have to fight with the ICE MAKER . The tray would get stuck because a block of ice would prevent it from coming out . Eventually I could see that ice block would just grow with time .

            Our refrigerator is falling apart!
            The freezer drawer is broken, the ice and water dispenser lever fell off and I can't find a replacement lever, only the entire assembly for lots of money!

              bought this model may 2017. the icemaker went out about a year after. the ice maker was worked on and/or replaced twice. it constantly freezes over. you have to completely remove the ice bin, and chip off the ice that freezes around the ice maker. you cannot shut the ice maker off if you want to use the water dispenser. now the fridge is leaking! the water froze the bottom drawer inside the fridge which then cracked. water leaks out the bottom of the fridge and ice is building up on the freezer door! the ice maker issue is well known with samsung. these issues have been going on since 2014! there is a class-action lawsuit pending right now. they have refused to fix this issue and continue to send out defective ice makers in their products. buyer beware!!

                i’ve had my refrigerator for 5 years and it started making an extreamly loud sound, it was periodic, and it stopped when i opened the doors. then a month later ice appeared in the back of the fridge inside the holes of the back wall. turns out its so common, the sound and the issue is listed on the samsung website. there are also many youtube videos on the issue. samsung should have done a recall on the refridgerater to fix this defect! the warrwnty is expired, but why should i pay for it to be serviced when samsung knows this is an issue with their refrigerators. how do i know they didnt set this up so people whould have to pay for service, labor, and parts. so my options are to defrost the fan and cooling panel every few months are buy another refridgerater.

                  Discontinued model
                  It is surprising, a year and a few months ago I bought this unit at home depot, the unit looks great and keeps my food cold, that's it. its extremely noisy, the worst thing is that it is so new and already discontinued, you can no longer find spare parts anywhere and if there are there are few, the parts manuals are confusing and the parts stores do not show photos of parts because they no longer exist. don't buy this brand, the best has always been and will be GE - Whirpool and maybe LG that you find parts even in the supermarket.

                    The fridge itself is actually pretty good. I love how the shelves can adjust to different heights to accommodate different groceries. The left door might as well not have shelves. They are (all but one) too small to hold anything. The freezer and ice maker are the reason for the low review. The ice maker has barely worked from day one. When it does work it freezes over and clogs, and then won't work again. Trying to pull out the ice bin to unstop the frozen over cubes, pretty much breaks the bin. The freezer holds the essentials in the lower part, but hope you don't care to see what's in the top drawer! It won't pull out far enough to be able to get to anything. The color is the main reason I went with this model. I will not buy Samsung again! It should not be having these issues less than 2 years after purchase! Paying this much for a product should ensure a quality product, unfortunately, in this case, it does not.

                        Right around the three year mark, the fan started making a loud noise like it was hitting something. At the recommendation of Samsung support, took all of the shelves and drawers out, took off the Twin Cooling panel, and found a build up of ice around the fan. We've now had the same issue three times in the last six months and each time we have had to throw out food because it got too warm before we noticed it wasn't cooling anymore. We will not be purchasing another Samsung appliance ever again.

I've had to have three repairs in my first year of ownership, including once when they temp would not lower below 62 degrees and everything within it spoiled in the days it took to get a warranty repair. Do yourself a favor and google Samsung refrigerator complaints before purchasing if you are considering this. Ice maker leaks, frozen over cooling units, ruined floors beneath, noisy ineffective fans, etc.

                                    First the door handle broke. Samsung would not replace it. They told me I would have to buy a whole new drawer, because you can’t just buy the handle. Next, the freezer went out at five years. The entire freezer full of steaks, shrimp and other expensive food was destroyed. No help from Samsung once again. Next, the refrigerator went out spoiling all the food. When contacted Samsung a repair guy came out multiple times and charged me for service all and in the end said compressor was out. The compressor was supposed to have a 10 year warrant, but the said another part cased it Togo out, so too bad. Once again, no help from Samsung. Have been fighting them over the phone now for over a month. I guess these are disposable refrigerators, because the don’t last longer than 5 years. My last refrigerator lasted 15 years. Samsung has been very frustrating! Still no resolution, just another ticket number with a promise to call back in 24-48 hours.

                                      Cleaning the Exterior Wipe the control panel and digital display with a damp, clean, soft cloth. Do not spray water directly on the surface of the refrigerator. The door handles, and cabinet surfaces should be cleaned with a mild detergent and then wiped dry with a soft cloth. To keep your appliance looking its best, polish the exterior once or twice a year. CAUTION Do not use benzene, thinner, or Clorox for cleaning. They may damage the surface of the appliance and may cause a fire. Do not spray water directly on the refrigerator. Its loud, the water leaks from ice maker, have to reset ice maker to many times. Poor, Poor, Poor! I have a Whirlpool in the garage that is over 20 years old, and still working like a champ, guess I should have stuck Whirlpool. Regretfully unhappy former Samsung customer!

                                          Ice maker freezes up constantly. Its a couple months outside of warranty and I had to pay to get it serviced myself. Tech said there is a service memo about this fridge, he replaced y clips, siliconed around the maker to prevent air from getting in, pulled back the water line and a few months later it still has the same issue. I now have another tech out from the same company and he says they are recommending to replace the entire ice maker and cost is around $500 bucks.

                                            Difficult to clean. Ice maker is clogging.
                                            Our fridge is barely 5 years old. Ice maker made increasingly loud noises a few months ago. We paid repairman to assess. Bill to repair would've been over $500. Instead, youtube helped us address some of the problems. Too long to list here. Basically, the ice gets stuck often. We have to defrost manually. Next problem. Glass shelf over the drawers is difficult to clean. Mold grows between the glass & drawers. Drawers jam whenever pulled open. Shelf space can be better designed. I don't recommend this model. Check out youtube review videos. Appliances are not made with quality in mind. We're looking for basic fridges now. By the way, our previous fridge lasted 12 years.

                                                Replaced a less than eight year old same unit . That leaked all its fluid out from a poor soldering issue . Samsung wouldn’t support this issue . Would be about a $1000.00 repair . The Cabinets were built to accommodate this particular size so we had to go with Samsung again . Plenty of interior room and the top shelf is hinged to allow placement of taller items . Was delivered a month ago . Cons : so darn noisy. The ice maker knocks , rattles and groans . Samsung says it’s normal noise . This model has a single ice maker only .

                                                We purchased this refrigerator along with 3 other appliances a little over a year ago. Very shortly after we brought it home we experienced issues with the ice maker and freezer. The ice maker kept freezing up and the ice was a little melted when it was dispensed. We had Samsung come out about 6 times. Every time the ice maker would work for a couple weeks and than eventually freeze up again!! Now that it is over a year they will not do anything! However we have had this problem all along!! I feel it is a flaw in the design of the fridge. Now I am stuck with it!! We have also had issues with our Samsung stove, microwave and dishwasher!! Unbelievable!! Stay away from Samsung products!!

It is slow to dispense and often takes 2+ pushes of the lever to activate. Seems to be an issue with Samsung... cousin's fridge does same thing (different year and model). Otherwise roomy, bright, and easy to use. Love the black stainless!

                                                  Broke exactly 3 days after the 1 year warranty expired. All samsung refridgerators have a water leakage problem where water will pool at the bottom of the fridge due to the drain icing over. Samsung had tried to fix it with a small metal clip on the de-icing coil, and this did nothing to resolve the issue. Every owner is going to run into this issue, google it, it's been happening to these products for years and they've done nothing to solve it. On top of the water leaking issue, the freezer is unreliable at keeping things cold. Despite setting it at -8F, items in the freezer will melt because it's actually above 31F in there. Other days, it will manage to get back up to the target temperature, there's no way to tell. They charge $80-100 just to look at the refrigerator, regardless of whether or not they can do anything to fix it. They then charge labor and charge parts on top of that. They charged me for diagnosing the broken refrigerator and failed to find a solution, and just gave up, no solutions. I'm left with an expensive broken refrigerator after not even 2 years, with no solutions. And they charged me just to tell me that there's nothing they can do. All I can do is just buy a brand new refrigerator now because I can't trust it to consistently stay cool. I can tell you for sure that I will NOT be buying another Samsung product, ever again.
