I think it’s important to note that installing this cover after you’ve had your tankless pipes already in place is difficult to do. We wound up not using the bottom pieces and having to cut a notch on the right side panel to accommodate the large thick electrical cable to the On / Off switch box which sits to the right of the right most pipe. That switch is now not covered by the pipe cover. Plus, because we didn’t use those bottom pieces, which support the integrity of the cover, we had to screw the two side plates into our stucco wall. Broke several drill bits doing so. Now, in the future when we have to drain and clean our tankless, we’re going to have to remove just about the entire cover because the opening to the drain pipe on the very left faces the left panel of the cover. Doing this will comprise the integrity of the hole that the screw fits into which is already a bit too large. Will eventually have to put some anchors in the stucco wall after the first time we remove the cover to drain the tank in a year.

The box is well made, easy to assemble and most likely requires some modifications before it can be installed, depending on the plumbings underneath the tankless water heater unit. My installation requires modification to the base plate to allow the gas pipe to enter the box, and the pressure relief pipe to exit. I used a grinder with a metal cutting blade to cut the opening for these two pipes. It took about 2 an hour to fabricate and install the box. I also insulated the pipes inside the box to provide additional freeze protection. The box will shield the pipes and their insulation from the weather, accidental damage, and vandalism. Yes, I would recommend this product.

This worked just fine to give a finished look to our exterior tankless unit. It did need a little bit of metal work to allow it to fit over the plumbing pipes, but it wasn't difficult and the install was completed in just a couple of hours including the modifications.

Returning it today. This is an essential part of a Rheem water heater, but not included. You have to purchase separately. But after 1 month, 4 trips out from the Rheem tech, we are returning the water heater since it does not work!

The cosmetic pipe cover I bought was of fine quality, it just didn’t fit my Rheem tankless water heater!!Only one size is offered and it was too small!

Good quality materials. Had to make hand cutouts to fit my system, but ultimately made it work. Most likely that you will have to do the same on your system.

The plumber referred by Home Depot did an excellent job installing the Rheem water heater, but the pipes now protrude too far out to enable the cover to be installed. I called him and advised the problem and he said he would come back and correct the situation, but so far, he has not done so.

A little cumbersome to install since it is in five pieces. Really dresses up the install by hiding the all the piping.

This product did not fit my Rheem tankless hot water heater model.

My plumber also found this does not fit the Rheem outdoor tankless heater although this was the recommended cover per HD website

I was assisted in the store on the purchase of a Rheen High Efficiency 8.4 GPH gas tankless water heater and the cosmetic cover for pipes below the wall mounted unit. It turns out this pipe cover does not fit the WH and after working with customer service / special order staff it seems Home Depot does not even offer the correct part and wouldn't / couldn't order for me. What kind of service is that on the purchase of a $1000 item.. The pipe cover is not well described / keyed to actual water heater models
