Nice Fire Pit
Good compact design. So far so good. The cover is a nice feature since this item will rust in the long run.

It's OK for now, but how long will it last?
I should come to expect that most everything produced today is not made to last. So why did I get my hopes up that this fire pit was going to be a sturdy, long lasting centerpiece on my patio? Call it hope, call it ignorance, call it denial, call it whatever you want. The stamped steel is thin in the main structure, but is sturdy enough when put together. There is already evidence of rust on the legs after the first couple of nights. Dew condensation that evaporated off left behind some rusty dust in some of the crevices on the legs and verticals of the unit. It will take just a couple of years and then I will have to repaint the thing. The stone inlays on the top are uneven. Like they were haphazardly placed with no care how the finished product looked. My real issue with this fire pit is the pan in the middle, you know, where the fire goes? They used the thinnest gauge steel humanly possible. I can only wonder how many times it can heat cycle to the point of twisting into itself. They provided a grate to create a flat surface for the logs to sit on, but this also creates a problem. As the fire burns now, the hot coals drop through the grate, down to the bottom of the pan, and away from the logs on top. This causes the fire to go out because the coals aren't close enough to keep the logs going. To fix this, I filled the bottom of the pan with lava rock, just to the bottom of the grate. The idea behind this is to insulate the bottom of the thin pan from the heat as well as to keep the coals where they need to be. Lastly there is the mesh fire lid. Again, the flimsy construction of this thing makes me wonder how much heat will it take to make it fall apart in front of my eyes. I would wait until fire dies down to the point where there is a pile of coals or a really small flame before putting it on. Putting it on a roaring fire will most definitely shorten its life. The instructions say not to build a huge fire, with good reason. The thin metal construction just can't handle it. It says not to put water on the fire. Again, the rapid change in temperature will ruin the pan. This is only for small decorative fires. Ok, so by now you probably think I really hate this thing, but I don't. I'm not smitten by it or anything, but it will do the job for a while. Some of the good things about it are: It came with a cover which I was not expecting. It is nice to have a movable fire pit instead of a fixed build-in one. Once the issue of getting a nice fire was solved it does provide ambiance. Overall it is an attractive design. In summary, this is an average quality fire pit that may last for 3 to 5 years. May need some modifications and maintenance. I would recommend this to a friend with a lot of warnings along with it. I don't feel it is worth the price of $270 that I paid for it. $175 is more reasonable.

Easy assembly but piece of tile was off..
Assembly was easy and it functions properly. Upon arrival one of the stone tiles was off. I had to superglue it back on which seemed to do the trick. For the money paid I am not sure I got a good value, but that's because I'm not sure it is necessary to spend $200 on a firepit when a less expensive firepit probably gets the same result.

Enjoyable, but will it last?
Lightweight, attractive, enjoyable, but paint peeled off spark cover from heat at first fire (not appropriate paint). Fire pit metal also thin, so I wonder how long until it gets holes from the heat. Suggest "gentle" , not roaring fires.

    Daughter and grandchildren love it!!!!
We bought it for our daughter and grandchildren. Below is what she said, when I asked her about the fire pit: We looooove it!! Cooks the dogs and marshmallows to perfection, lol. Ok, well maybe that's partly the person holding the stick, but nonetheless we LOVE it. It is lightweight, easy to assemble, perfect size and the ceramic surround is great for sitting drinks, snacks, grill toys, etc on!!
