Was excited to get this snow blower since I have other Ryobi products that use the same battery packs. I used it for about 20 minutes and then it suddenly stopped working. It kept making a clicking sound. I looked in the manual and no mention of such sound, but open searching the internet, BOOM, tons of reviews with the dreaded clicking. In essence the machine is dead and has to either be replaced, or, "fixed" as I was told. Since I had it less than 2 days, I just returned it for a refund. There are many many instances of this same problems, so I would caution you to research before you purchase this machine.

Go Green and Enjoy the Ease of Use
I bought the Ryobi 40 Volt Lawnmower, the 40 volt Weed Whacker and both are great products to use and enjoy. This fall before the snow I opted for the 40 Volt Snow Blower and for sure it was easy to put together and so far so good. You cannot expect it to work like a two or three stage gas snow-blower but for smaller driveways and light snowfalls it does a reasonable job. Just fold up the handle and store it until the next snowfall. I would suggest just buying the snow-blower without the double battery pack, if you have other 40 Volt Ryobi tools as well.. Just rotate your batteries between your devices..

    comes with problems
The chute rotation broke while in its first use, now we have to manually turn the chute by hand....its too bad because the machine itself throws the snow right over my deck railing, it is just as powerful as the gas versions but without the mess. Now i get to go thru the hassle of returning it to the store.

    Works well
I love the Ryobi battery powered products, already have the lawn mower and chain saw. I am happy with this too, it's lightweight and blows well. However the bar to turn the blower direction is too flimsy and didn't work after the 2nd time using. I am able to turn the head by hand, just a bother. Also the base to the edge where the snow comes in is plastic and is getting beaten up quickly, would be nice to have a metal edge there. For the amount of snow we get, I'm still happy I don't have to go out to get gas! Would still recommend .

    Is this winter an annomoly?
Bought this blower because I have a small drive and I own the 40V mower. I live in the Northeast an the first 5 inches of snow I thought I was cool with my "enviro friendly" machine. Then came the next 55 inches and "little green" and I were both overwhelmed. I'm seriously considering a short stature, gas powered, 2 stage, machine to augment my Ryobi. I'm just afraid that I won't get as much snow in the next 5 years. What to do? What to do?

Great little snow blower and my wife can use it. One wish, is that it could more easily be collapsed, so it would fit in car trunk, so I could take it to my daughter and let her use it. Jerry Kisner
