I purchased this antenna to install in my garage attic and it is used with a TV and an FM radio (with a signal splitter). It works very well in both applications. It is more compact than a traditional TV antenna, but because of that it is easier to install in a tight spot. The higher you install it, the better it will work, so if you use a garage attic, for example, put it at the peak of the roof if possible.
