Wow this is very well built aluminum. Thought it would be plastic but when I opened it I was so happy this is very well built sturdy heavy aluminum. It is solar powered and very bright. They also included an extender power cord so the solar panel can be placed very far from the light if needed. And it came with a wall mount if you need that along with screws. I was really impressed with the craftsmanship and fine quality. You can also place the solar panel connected to the light itself. This is very well made sturdy and should last for years.

This Solar Powered unit is extremely well built. Super heavy duty materials. And super bright White LED Accent produces a very bright spotlight. Unit came with spike type base to insert in the ground and also a wall mount so you can make the choice. It also has an extention to increase the lenth of wire from the solar panel to the spotlight. In my particular instance I did not need the extention but again it is well thought that it was provided in the kit should maybe if used in a different area it may be needed. I love the unit my wife love it too. It is the perfect accent to my front property area. And of course the unit is powered by the sun. This area has no electric hardwire so without this solar powered unit this area would not be able to be lit. Great Spotlight. Two thumbs up from me and two thumbs up from the wife. The very last picture I posted along with this review was at dusk without a flash. You can see how very bright the spotlight is.

Because of where I have my American Flag hanging, I don't like taking my flag down every night- as well as the fact that it's a bit high up for me as well - I choose instead, to keep it lit at night (as is custom for flag code). But because of this choice, I've now been through two 'solar spotlights' for my American Flag. The biggest issue that I've had in the past with the solar powered spots, is it seems that the sunshine itself has beaten down on the plastic light fixture, and doomed it from the start, to end up broken, fractured, and useless in the end. The last one got hit mistakenly by the weed whacker, and it ended up in a bazillion pieces because of how brittle the sun itself made it. And this next time, I did a bit of homework when I decided to try yet another solar spotlight, and in the end it was the metal casing that led us to the Progressive brand spotlight. At first I was concerned about the higher cost over other brands, but now I can see without a doubt why it was a bit higher. The old saying, "You get what you pay for", is certainly clear here for sure! I'm thankful that I did give this brand a nod! It's beautifully made. This is clearly evident from the moment that you first take the fixture out of the box. The entire light fixture is made of metal. The weight is definitely a noticeable distinction. Especially because of the fact that in the past, the plastic lights caused their own doom just doing what they were supposed to be made to do - sit in the sunshine. I have no doubt that this light can sit in the sunshine for a VERY long time now and never fall apart from doing so! I really like that the company gives the buyer the choice of having the solar panel attached TO the light, or off and away from the light. This gives the unit a sleek unfettered look, because the cord attached is long enough to place the solar panel fairly far away from the light fixture itself. It's actually very easy to "hide" the solar panel - this allows the light to become part of your landscape without drawing the eyes directly TO the light fixture itself. It allows it to blend in while still using the strength of the sun to power it up! It took only a few moments to assemble and have it outside gathering up sunlight. The instructions suggest two full days of sunlight, but my lamp was up and running that night without issues. The spotlight itself is bold and bright - which makes it perfect for a flag spotlight. The on/off switch can be used when needed - if for any reason you didn't want the light on. All in all - the Progressive Solar Power Spotlight really is a fantastic choice over cheaper models - if you buy the higher quality to start, you won't be replacing lesser models like I had to. This one is obviously a far superior grade make - and one that I'm very pleased and impressed with for my flag illumination (or any other spotlight) needs!

Thought that paying the extra money for a higher quality solar light was going to make a difference, however the light only stays on for 5 hours max.

The light and associated solar panel are easy to assemble. If you need to angle the solar panel for more direct sunlight, an additional mount and ground stake are provided to allow the panel to move wherever it is needed.

This light is the brightest solar spotlight I've found so far. The light housing is made of durable powder coated steel and should last years . The price was reasonable!

This light is far brighter than a previous light we had .So we will be seeing much beter than we expected

Was very nice for first 2 yrs. Then light cover fogged up. Water must have got inside. Expensive to only last 2 years.

This unit seems well built and came partially charged. The light output is around 5k-ish or whiter, so it is not a warm light, just so you know. It's whiter than my other lights, I'll look to see if I can tint the lens to match. It has been installed for a month.

Poor lighting , nowhere near as bright as it says it is. Only comes with one mounting bracket as well. I would say it’s worth $20-$30, nowhere near $100!! Very very very disappointing

Good quality lite. Lights up the tree in our front yard just as I wanted.

Use them on the front of my house to light up palm trees and they work great. Saved me from trying to run wires to electrical lights.

Nice compact unit that shines the light exactly where you want it directed. Blends in nicely with the foliage.

Perfect landscaping up-lighting. AND these last. this is my third one. Bought two of them two years ago which are still providing great light. We live in Florida so plenty of sunshine for solar lighting.

Panels that hold the light came chipped and screws does not unscrew in order to allow the solar battery to be changed.

Finally all metal solar lights fantastic. High quality construction and attention to detail. Strong white light perfect to spotlight any focal point.

Love the sturdiness of these lights. Heavy duty. The way you can adjust the light is super heavy duty and love the extra cord to move the solar panel away from the light. Perfect light. Works all night long. I have had these going for about 5 weeks now.

What a great light! We position it in the garden depending on what's blooming and forget about it..... Until night time, that is! Then, voila! A clear soft light and our favourite trees and plants looking gorgeous. Have owned it for two years now and not a single hitch. Strong, versatile.... what's not to love!!!???

This light is a lot brighter than other solar lights I have used. We have yard decorations we like to highlight at night and were using electric lights. This was costing us in electricity. We purchased other solar lighting and it just was not bright enough. When we saw this light was LED we decided to try it. The difference was amazing. So we got another!

I am in the business (sales) of solar panels and LEDs so technically I understand the manufacturing process and range of quality out there. As for residential outdoor lighting, most of the home centers offer poor quality product as they sell on volume and low cost to the consumer. The higher quality (and price) products in this industry can be found either on-line or through independent retailers catering direct to the Landscaper and Garden industry. This is one of those rare cases where a higher quality product could be found at a home center, such as HD, albeit I had to buy it HD online as our local HD does not stock it. Things that sold me on this product: 1. Solar is Mono-crystalline with glass cover. This means longer life than the cheap "Malibu Light" type using epoxy coating that lasts only 3-4 years.. Epoxy turns to yellow and then limits charging capability. A glass panel should last at least 10 years. 2. Batteries are Li-ion, not the cheap Ni-Cd. Li-ion has a higher charging capability and longer life. Not to mention more environmentally friendly. 3. LED; this uses a higher quality and brighter SMT type LED than the types found on lower end product. The Cons I wished were improved: 1. Charging capacity is said to be 6-8 hrs. I have not stayed up late into the night to prove if this being accurate, but wished that it had 10-12 hrs so it would last most the night. A larger panel with higher capacity Li-ion batteries should be an option. 2. Aluminum housing is ok, but Brass or Copper housing would offer a much greater longer life. 3. lack of o-rings at the solar panel/battery compartment. Having this feature would extend the life of the unit even further by preventing moisture from entering into the compartment. Overall, product was easy to install. It came with one mounting bracket and in my application I needed two. I called the Mfr customer service and asked how can I order an extra bracket. They shipped me an second one AT NO COST, they even picked up the shipping. Now that rarely happens these days and they shipped out the following day.

Weak light for the cost. Screws to hold panel and light to stakes stripped on first use. Battery lasted less than a year and replacement is $20! Useless and expensive.

Gama Sonic Progressive Solar Spotlight Model GS-103 (LEDs 3000K, Amber light color). Sold by Amazon and Home Depot. Shopped the former, but bought at the latter. Returned today. Totally worthless items. They worked for a day or two then nothing. Bought these at Home Depot online to light up some holiday decorations – a dozen large 1-ft. plastic ornaments I put in a palm tree in my front yard – and I was glad they arrived before Christmas. Reviews convinced me they were bright for solar LED spotlights. Unpacked and installed…left off for a few days to charge in the sun, then turned them on. I was impressed – they looked great. Not REALLY bright, but OK. By the second day (well, night) two were no longer working. Turned all off for a few more days and then on. The two that were inop were still so. Three of four days later, none were working. Only one of them would light dimly for an hour or so. I should have figured something was up when the Home Depot price offer beat out Amazon. Price listed was $89.99 – I purchased four of these items – and the promotional discount was $144.00 off, bringing the per item cost to only $53.99. I thought that was a pretty good deal. It turned out to be a waste of money (well, Home Depot did give me a full refund) and so the waste was mostly time ordering, unpacking, installing, then troubleshooting, then removing, cleaning, re-packing and finally driving 15 miles to my nearest store. Couldn’t recommend these items. Oh, and I did not contact the manufacturer – Gama Sonic is all over the web, with products in many solar lighting stores, Lowe’s, HD, Amazonia, etc. – but with a purchase of 4 items I figured that if two or three worked OK, I’d try to work with the manufacturer/distributor to resolve technical problems, but with 4 of 4 bad, I just called HD and they said just return to any store. Made in China, go figure. Good service from HD - order, ship, return - just a totally worthless product.

1 - Did not work after one hour of on time. Battery charged for two days before use. 2- Focus adjustment very poor, and actually reduced the amount of light on the distant object. 3 - Returned to Home Depot for full refund.
