Looked good until started falling apart
We bought this flooring about 5 yrs ago. Back then I would have raved about it. But about 6-9 months into it, we started having problems. Pinholes, indentations, and just plain breaks developed. No, I don;t wear high heals, hammer nails into the floor, or throw rocks on it. But that is what it looks like. We bought a cheap laminate wood flooring for the back of the house and have NO problems with that. It appears that the PERGO just collapses. It has a 30 yr warranty, but you know how that goes. I am still waiting to hear their answer.

good stuff, wish they made a natural hickory in this product
I have usually shied away from engineered floor for main living area as I thought the look was not very realistic. This floor has changed my mind, it has a very real look and feel to it. I would buy again and more importantly, I would install everywhere in the house.

Purchased some in a HD store, could not buy enough so ordered on line
Outstanding product and saddened that it appears to be targeted to cease production as they told us in the stores. Contractor installing product is very complementary, though he did accumulate a full box of damaged boards from the entire shipment. product is highly effective and increases the look and feel of the home.

Not hard to put down
Was much better than I thought it would be. Not at all hard to install. Did 1000 sq ft by myself. I would recommend considering a random length install rather than a fixed length. I spaced my butts half way on the next row and it might have looked better staggered randomly. It looks great, but very symetrical. Try laying out a few rows first and see how you like it before starting the actual install. Also, plan to cut outside, as there is a lot of dust. BTW: Got it cheaper on line than I could at the store and shipping to my home was free. Overall, excellent deal.

Big dog
We had this flooring installed over a year ago in our kitchen, hallway and laundry room. We are now going to have it installed in our diningroom/livingroom area. We have an Irish Wolfhound that likes to bring in large rocks, drop them on the floor, the only marks we ever have are the mud tracks, we live in the mountains with dirt and snow. We are a little concerned about the cold floor in the winter but we still believe it will make our lives better.

    Beautiful end product
After much battling over real wood versus laminate flooring, we choose this one due to previously read reviews. Installation was not very difficult but time consuming when doing it with no help. Definitely needed the 10% overage but only because of the damaged boards in the boxes. The end product is absolutely beautiful. Our 2 year-old daughter has already spilled water and juice and thrown toys on the floor with no noticeable damage. I love the durability of this flooring.

      pergo
Pros: Looks almost as good as real wood for half the price. Planks and transition pieces made in Canada and USA. Cons: The tongue and groove portion is fragile until the planks are locked into position. The dust produced during cutting with a table saw or chop saw is awful. The dust is very fine, clings to most any material and spreads across a much larger area than any wood dust I've worked with. The laminate surface is still prone to scratching. Be cautious, even when moving furniture with plastic feet as they will scratch the laminate. Overall, I would recommend this product with the limitations described above.

        Uncanny look and feel
I was searching high and low for a product that looked like real wood planking. SInce we are on a cement slab, we cannot use wood. I had found another web site that had what I thought was a great price on a similar floor. Then, I got to the HD store and saw this floor had recently had a "New lower price". It stopped me in my tracks! It looks like hand-scraped wood with realistic graining. I held a piece up to the wood samples across the isle and could NOT tell the difference! As I began to calculate the cost for my project, I added in the cost of underlayment and became dsappointed... until the HD associate pointed out that the underlayment was already attached! I almost fell over! 10mm with attached underlayment for $2.29 a sf?? No WAY! Needless to say, I bought 30 cases right then and plan to purchase another 800 sf to do the 2nd floor in a few months. What a bargain!

          Excellent Product
Having sold Pergo in the late eighties with an exclusive territory when it first came to the United States, I saw it's quality and potential use from the onset. Pergo started it all , and was a trendsetter in laminate flooring in sweden...Twenty plus years later, I thought I would try the Pergo Potomac. What a difference a few thousand days make, this product is beautiful to say the least. We installed over 1000 sq. feet in the kitchen, dinining room, living room, and hall. I compared the Pergo Potomact to Bruce Hardwood floors Hickory initially, that had a $8.00 sq. ft. price. The realism in the Potomac is uncanny, performance without the price of hardwood. I highly recommend the Pergo Potomac plank format.

            OUTSTANDING FLOOR
I HAVE WORKED WITH OTHER FLOORING STYLES AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST YET. EASY ASSEMBLY, EASY CLEAN CUTS, GOES TOGETHER LIKE IT SHOULD WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE TO BIND TOGETHER. STILL HAVE 600 SQFT TO INSTALL. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

              Best investment I ever made!!!
I have 2 Great Danes, 5 cats, a son, and a husband and this flooring is fabulous! I installed the flooring myself in my living room, dining room, kitchen, foyer, and hallway it is easy to clean up hair and furballs that happen, just wipe it up!!! Its been down for months and has no scratches from all my critters. The only issue with the flooring is that excited great danes have trouble stopping!!!!! I will be installing this flooring in the rest of my house very soon. It looks great and wears even better!!

                  Looks really great
Over all I am pleased with the flooring. It looks great and seems to be easily cleaned. It has only been down a week and my poor knees are just starting to heal. If you can afford it hire someone to lay it for you or get yourself some good knee pads. It didn't lock together as easily as I would have liked and on occasion part of the tongue would collapse and we would have to cut out a short section. The padding backed planks saved us allot of time. Also getting the planks under jamb molding was hard because both the edge and ends have to lock in. I would recommend this flooring to anyone who has patience and likes the look of it.

The floor was very easy to install. It does take some care in installing so not to damage the planks. The overall effect is very stunning. We just installed the floor, so cannot comment about the wear and tear on the product.

                      Installed 1000 sq ft
Last year I had 1000 square feet of this flooring installed in all the living areas of my home. My sister loved it so she had the same flooring installed in her home too. Now I am starting to remodel bedrooms and will be installing this flooring in my bedrooms too. It holds up well to traffic and is very easy to clean...it has definately made my life easier when it comes to cleaning! I love it!!!

                        Perfect for mountain/lake house
Had my nephew install this in our 2nd home - a mountain/lake house. We used it for the entire first level - family room, dining room, kitchen, small hall and downstairs bedroom/den. We have had it now for almost a year and it is perfect! Color is realistic, easy to clean with microfiber dry cloth or occassional spray laminate floor cleaner. We did put felt pads on all furniture so there is no scratching. At first feels a little plasticy to walk on (click, click) but you get used to it quickly and it wears in our busy cabin beautifully!

                          Love it
We put this in our daughters bedroom. We liked it so much that we put it in the hallway and another bedroom. We plan to finish the other two bedrooms in this and part of our master bath. Very easy to install. Looks great, and holds up to 6 kids!

We had originally decided on a much cheaper laminate wood floor when my fiance surprised me with this one. We have two dogs and a 2 year old daughter and this floor has really held up thus far. No scratches and very easy to clean. Not only is it beautiful, but functional as well. We love this and are planning to do our living room and den. Anytime someone comes into our house this is one of the first things they compliment! Great alternative to wood floors!

                              Pergo Laminate Floor
My husband and I purchased and installed this floor, with the help of my dad, into our kitchen in our new home in April of 2009. We love this floor. We have three dogs that track in dirt constantly. This floor is so easy to clean. A microfiber mop and Bruce Hardwood spray- the floor is clean everytime. The only problem is the stools in our kitchen do leave scratches on the floor if dragged. The scratches are not very noticeable unless you are really looking at the floor carefully. I didn't notice the scratches until recently. I don't drag the stools around the kitchen anymore and we will be buying felt pads for the legs of the stools. Amazingly, the dogs' nails have not scratched the floor at all. Tthe floor stands up to three dogs, two adults and many spills. This floor is great.

                                Pergo Hickory
I had this flooring installed in September. It looks great!!! Even the installers thought it was real wood. The floor's only possible disadvantage is the color - which I love - but it does show dirt very easily. The flooring was installed in my kitchen and family room. I have a large dog that is in and out all the time and tends to leave paw marks everywhere. I just wipe them up with my Swiffer and everything looks great. I'm planning on installing in my dining room as well.

                                i love this stuff!
I am really happy with this stuff. Wish I could include a photo. Very easy to install and it looks great. just make sure you have a flat floor to start with. I have a couple squishy spots because my subfloor was not level. Put ample effort into filling in low spots and sanding down high spots. Its worth the effort.

                                  Almost Perfect !
I love this flooring... it looks and feels so much like real wood ! I've had many compliments on it since it's been installed. There are a couple of things that bother me, but I'm a very picky person. The flooring had more of a red tint to it than I wanted. I wanted a neutral tone .... no yellow, no red, ... but this one does have some red to it. I didn't think it would from the sample and seeing it in store, but in the house I see it. The transition kits for this floor (the pieces that go in the doorways) are a HORRIBLE match. Pergo has them matched to the potomac hickory and normal hickory and it must match the normal hickory better because it doesn't look good with the potomac at all. I actually plan on painting them white to match my door frames and trim, so they'll look better. One last thing, the ridges on the outside of the planks do help make it look and feel more like real wood, but they collect dirt and dust and if you spill something you've got to soak it up quickly and make sure you get it out of the groove. Despite all my issues (again, I'm OCD) the floor is great and I'd do it again.

Beautiful floor but keep in mind a few things...
This floor is a very convincing replica of real wood. It looks great and is very durable after it's installed. But before you buy it, keep in mind the following. - The planks are 5" wide, so installation goes slowly. You'll be making a lot of cuts. However, the narrow planks also mean there's very little waste. - There are grooves between the planks. This adds to the rustic feel of this floor, but the grooves tend to collect dust and dirt that has to be vacuumed out. - The planks are very fragile along their edges. This isn't a problem when your installation is complete, but during the process it's easy to chip and crack the boards if you drop them or strike them with an object.

                                      Floor looks great!
I love this floor! We put a lighter color pergo floor in our foyer years ago and it never looked like real wood, you could tell it was laminate. This newer style dark color with the nicks looks like real wood, It was much easier to install with the backing on it, the old style we had to lay that down first and it was a pain. You must remember to scatter the boxes or your pattern will come out wrong, you will notice each box has its own look but every piece in each box is the same.. We did get a chip in the floor but a heavy tool was dropped on it. Love the floor!

I just had this flooring installed in my living room. It changed the whole look of the room, not too dark and not too light. Also installed the floorboard instead of using white baseboards around the room. My living room is just awesome and the flooring also has a backing that when used with the quiet walk pad it feels better than the carpet we removed did. Totally AWESOME flooring!

We installed the Pergo Potomac Hickory Laminate Flooring in our living room to replace carpeting that had been ruined by our pets. The new flooring has held up through everything our pets do. No scratching, no stains. We can slide furniture around without worrying that we will scratch up the new floors. It looks so great we are going to install throughout the rest of the house.

                                          Excellent choice!
My husband and I had a hard time deciding what type of flooring to put in our recently finished walk out basement. I'm not a fan of laminate-I've never liked the look- but this product is great. It looks like real wood because each plank looks like one board and is slightly beveled( instead of each plank trying to look like multiple rows of wood). Also the finish has a hand scraped look instead of being completely flat. This was so easy to install and is gorgeous! The finish is dark and warm. We were thrilled when it arrived and even happier once it was installed!
