I upgraded from a manual flooring to this air assisted nailer and what a great job it did. After 1300 square feet 2 1/4 inch strip white oak flooring, I am impressed with results. Always a tight joint. Easy tap of the mallet closes the gap great.

Excellent Quality
I bought this flooring nailer in lieu of renting a nailer. It has worked flawlessly. I laid 400 sq. ft. of 3/4 inch oak without a single problem. It is a very solid product.

Somewhat disappointed
I bought the nailer because I pretty much shop exclusively for my business at Home Depot. I was disappointed because Home Depot could not order this for me in the store. I was happy with my nailer (it works remarkably well) until I got out the instructional DVD and the DVD kept mentioning a hard case for the nailer which was included.......I am sad to report that IT WAS NOT! Mine was shipped promptly in a box, but there was no carrying case. I was also disappointed that the nails were only available online, but that is another story.

The only way to install a hardwood floor.
I purchased this tool to install over 1000 feet of pre finished bruce 3/4" harwood flooring in our newly renovated house. I specifically researched the pneumatic nailers and decided on the Portamatic Hammerhead TL nailer mainly because it is made by Porta nailer who is known for industrial streanth and quality manual flooring nailers.
My very first impression in using this tool was that the nailer blows a 2" nail effortlessly though the tounge of the hard wood floor and seats properly into the sub floor with just a single tap of the mallet. This imperssion lasted thoughout the entire project and I only grew to like the tool even more. The tool never jammed, not even once.
I was able to find the correct depth for seating the nails by simply adjusting the air pressure from between 80-100 psi. The tool comes with a non marring foot so you won't have to worry about damaging the floor surface when using the tool. It tis well worht the money. The only other investment I decided to make after buying this tool was to purchase the Porter nailer pneumatic face nailer that enabled me to face nail the first and last few rows of flooring at lightining speed and also served as an excellent tool for intalling doors, moldings and trim work.
I definately recommend this tool for the first time installer and handyman or professional contractor alike.
