Wasn’t not aware there may be an option for left or right side cut. It would be helpful to have that in the description.

What i recieved from ordering online was completely different from the one pictured. No epoxy coating. The logo on the side is a sticker. Its okay. I am not returning it. I just think home depot should update this picture.

Has the outline of a broad hatchet but is much too thick and not constructed for the way a broad (hewing) hatchet is used. Works great for splitting kindling much like an standard hatchet. I had to go elsewhere to find a proper broad hatchet

I bought this Hatchet for my Boss, and the hatchet is already coming loose from the handle.

Excellent for what it is designed to do. A good strength builder as well as it builds hand, arm, and shoulder muscles.

So far love the thing. I didn't try out of the box based on reviews, took a file and stone to it immediately and rounded the taper a bit instead of the flat to an edge, giving it a radius. Easy to sharpen up. Weight works great, cuts well skinning logs on a chopping block and taking sap wood off. Not near as much effort as with a lighter standard double bevel camp hatchet. This will become my go to hatchet for prepping cut wood for projects. Will still probably use my lighter double bevel camp hatchets for cleaning vines off of living trees in the woods. But this was purchased specifically for hewing down logs small enough to be hand held.

it is a good tool to work with it is strong and not so heavy.

The ax has a good design and is durable. The only drawback was that it was not sharp enough to use as it came. It required a lot of sharpening to make it perform well.

The Plumb broad hatchet sold by Home Depot is probably the best buy in a single bevel broad hatchet, costing about half what others charge (a tenth if you are comparing to Gransfors). The trade-off is that you have to finish the grinding yourself. Sharpening and honing are expected with any edge tool, but Plumb left a lot of the finishing to the customer. The back and bevel were covered in grooves and striations, as though the shaping was done on a sidewalk. The hatchet itself is sturdy and well made, but you are limited to a right hand bevel.
