This cart was ordered on Tuesday evening and was supposed to take a week; got a text on Friday saying it would arrive Saturday! I knew I’d need help with this as I’m 71 yo woman and not very flexible. My Fella is a woodworker and insisted on adding glue to the dowels for added strength. My biggest complaint are the runners which are Uber cheap and difficult to hammer all the way flush. They have to be done right or the drawers don’t pull smoothly. Wish it was taller.

The item was not clearly described as a "kit" that needed assembly. I assembled this item with wood glue. It is pine and is counterbored to accommodate the pan head screws. With the drawer sides you end up with about 1/4 inch of soft pine to pull the pieces together. I had the torque setting on my screw gun at 3 lbs. and was still crushing the wood at times. The edge margins for the fasteners is pretty thin at most points. The glue will hold it together. Top scratched when received.

I wanted an inexpensive cart with drawers for my home studio. After reading some of the reviews, I took the plunge and bought the black one. I have plenty of tools and used them to assemble this. It's not difficult if you take your time and know what needs to be done. So if you don't have the tools or skills, I wouldn't recommend it- get something made of MDF board. I didn't want that as it's heavy. As others have said there are no pilot holes on the receiving ends of the boards. Without drilling those holes you WILL split the wood with the self-tapping screws. I drilled all the pieces and held them together with a 90 degree angle clamp during assembly. I also used wood glue. And yes, it's not all wood, with the particle board cabinet back and drawer inserts, but what do you want for $100? Replace the drawer inserts with 1/4" plywood if you want something more substantial. Would I buy this again? Absolutely. I wanted a cheap, functional cabinet and this met my expectations. If yours are higher you will easily pay 2-4x more.

Seeing the reviews for this item first, I was a bit skeptical. I am a finish carpenter, so I figured I could work out any issues I may run into with assembly. If you are not experienced in woodworking, I would not recommend this product as it does require some skill to assemble. Mine went together without any issues, but I can see how others could have problems with proper alignment. I like the fact that it is actual wood (pine) but the hardware was mixed. Some used #1 philips and others #2.

My biggest gripe is that assembly was far more time consuming than it should have been, and that parts didn't fit, and broke, upon assembly. Screw holes are not pre-drilled, which leaves the assembler struggling to keep the [very light] wood structure exactly in place while tightening the screws. Most problematic was that two of the caster wheel holes, drilled in the bottom of the two wood caster mounts, were drilled too small to fit the plastic inserts. This led to split wood pieces.

I wish the wide roll cart had at least one deep drawer. I love the suite and purchased 5 pieces.

My mom purchased this item (and the 6+2 version), both in pine to replace her desk and computer stand. The assembly is NOT easy - so do not believe anyone who said it was. 1. First, the directions were terrible. I have assembled several furniture pieces (both smaller and much larger than this) and the pictures and steps were unclear. This is not a simple 6-step assembly since each step contains 5 plus additional steps. 2. You NEED a drill. The instructions say hammer and rubber mallet (?) but unless you're Hercules you will require a drill. There are too many screws required to drill into wood directly. Most pieces that require screws do NOT have predrilled holes and are not flat surfaces. So good luck exhausting your arms if you attempt this by had. 3. It is not all wood as stated in other reviews and I had 4 pieces of that particle board stuff left over. The bottoms of draws are thin particle wood secured in the slats of 3 sides and with 2 tiny nails into the wood back of drawer. The back is also particle board material. The drawer roll bars are PLASTIC! They have to stretch to fit which means there is variability not found if they were metal and some drawers get a little sticky (rub over with a candle and it will solve that issue). 4. Holes are not pre-drilled. There are general holes predrilled for screw entry into a piece but not on the connecting piece. This made line-up incredibly difficult, laborious, and needing to be redone if not perfect. There are no indicators or holes for nailing particle board to the wood. 5. It does not roll nicely and attaching the wheels was ridiculous. You have to hammer the cheap plastic without damaging the wheels (called castors) really hard into another plastic piece. 6. You will damage and split the wood trying to get pieces to screw together properly. This is mentioned in other reviews so heed our warnings. We are optimistic that the final product will work as desired, although its assembly and quality does not meet our expectations. Do NOT recommend.

There are pros and cons. First the cons. 1. They say solid wood construction and that is misleading. Yes, there is a lot of solid pine but the back of the set, and the bottoms of the drawers are made of a composite. I'm not even sure what it is but it is thin and flimsy. 2. The drawer glides are plastic and feel inadequate. They just snap into predrilled holes. Nothing but friction is holding them in. 3. The flimsy drawer bottoms and guides are probably why the back of the unit says "SAFE WEIGHT LIMIT: 10 POUNDS PER DRAWER". Honestly, this is okay with me for the use I intended, but 10 pounds per drawer is way below what a lot of my storage cabinets will hold. 4. It has some predrilled holes but a lot of the construction is done by using the self tapping screws to drill directly into the pine. After the first board cracked I drilled holes to prevent it from happening again. Now some pros. 1. It has extra screws and dowels included. I actually used some of those screws to reinforce the drawer bottoms. 2. It actually looks pretty nice once it is assembled. I also ordered the tall file cabinet. I will not be assembling it. I'll return it to Home Depot, unopened. The paper in my filing cabinets weighs way more than 10 pounds per drawer and my next file cabinet will need to be able to handle this as well. To be fair, I expect to spend at least twice as much on a sturdier file cabinet.

Great materials. Easy instructions. Easy to assemble... lots of parts but all clearly marked, packaged and in great shape. Best self-assembled furniture I've ever had. Thanks for making my creative office easy to create!

I was NOT expecting this- it's excellent quality! Some assembly required, but worth it! I'm a woodworker but sometimes find utilitarian builds exhausting, so I was extremely happy to find this such a high quality product.

This is not only difficult to put together we couldnt get the bottom drawer to fit. Its not sturdy and the wheels come out when moving it. I love the idea of this product and I’d like more but there’s not a chance I would buy this again.

Good solid wood. All parts were included and nothing missing. Straight-forward to put together. Took me about 1 hour to assemble.

No breaks! It looks great in the drawers are nice and hold a decent amount but every time I open a drawer the wheels… Since they don't have brakes… Roll along with opening of the drawer and I can't keep it in one place. They should at least have two wheels with brakes on it that you can lock. otherwise I would've given it five stars. It is quite frustrating that you cannot stabilize it in one place. if you put heavy things in a drawer it will even roll more but usually with what I keep in it we're talking about a few inches. But that irks me

This cabinet works well for what I bought it for and is all wood. It was easy to put together except for the cheap screws that hold the drawers together. I couldn't find a screwdriver tip to fit well. I drilled a hole for the screws, which is not in the instrument and it was still difficult to put the screws in.

Love this cabinet for my craft supplies. I did change out the wheels for a more sturdy rubber wheel as to not scratch my wood floors.
