I've only had the water heater for 1 week and so far I'm very impressed with it's performance. I hope it remains reliable over many years to come.

Not sure why all the bad reviews out there. From my experience so far about a month now with this hot water is that it is awesome! It's a big water heater and it's heavy but that is expected since it's a 75 gallon tank. The installer needed a 3 man team to put this up and over my stand and beam that was blocking area. However, once we the water heater was in the pan the rest of the install was standard as usual. No leaks, no issues so far. Water comes out very hot so you do need to adjust the water temperature. We get hot water all day.

I had this water heater installed on September 7, 2019. Prior to going on vacation on October 8, I set the thermostat to "vacation" mode, with only the green light on. Upon returning on October 11, the green light was still on, but also the "A" and "C" lightS were lighted in amber. I attempted the Rheem suggestion of resetting the thermostat with no success. It is now Friday night after a 4.5 hour drive, and I have no hot water. I will call both Rheem tech services and the Fast Water Heater Company tomorrow at 0700. Obviously, I am very unhappy tonight.

I bought this water heater from Home Depot a couple years ago. It failed in February so I called their customer service. The CS representative told me to remove the burner and check for some breakable sensor. It obvious that she didn't have a clue as to what heater I had. So I called one of their "Authorize Rheem Service Providers" He told me over the phone that it needed an ignitor and that he didn't have one. Apparently, mine wasn't the only one. I asked him to come out and take a look anyways, so he did and said "yup, it's your ignitor and by the way Rheem is out of stock too". I had already taken the plenum out so he didn't charge me the full service charge. When I called Rheem back they suggested that I search the internet for the ignitor and they would reimburse me for it. I asked if they knew who carries them and they said no. I finally found one at Home Depot that looked similar but didn't have the right gasket. I ended up installing it and it worked. Rheem sent me another ignitor with a proper gasket a week later so I reinstalled it. They never repaid me for the one I bought from Home Depot. So this morning I go to take a shower and guess what? NO HOT WATER! When I called Rheem Customer Service (after waiting for 30 minutes) they told me that I needed to get an authorized plumber to diagnose it even though it had the same error code. I told them that it was the same thing that happened a few months ago and she said I see your file. Home Depot should really consider a different brand. Rheem has a poor product and lousy customer service.

So far seems to be doing a great job. The control panel is a nice hi-tech feature. The unit was professionally installed thru Home Depot, and we are very pleased with the result.

I bought this 75 GAL WH on January 2018 to replace my old 100 gallons and I installed it by myself. In 5 months until now doing excellent work for my 2 story house, 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. This is better than my 100 gal, I got more water pressure in my three baths plus my kitchen. Remember you need to learn the manual read it well and understand the operation before the installation or hire a licensed plumber. As I my experience with this WH right now, its a very good quality for the price.

Good quality 75 Gallon water heaters better be heavy and that's what this one is. I drove my truck backwards inside my garage and slid the heater onto the pedestal then twisted it around and installed it with no surprises. Bear in mind this big heater comes with 1 inch water connecters. I used my old adaptors to connect water and gas supply. This unit needs an electric outlet to run its electronic program, fan and electronic ignition. No pilot light to worry about. What stunned me about this humongous beast its dynamic heating power that fully heated its 75 gallons after installing it in about 10 minutes. It's performance is dynamite! I'm sharing my experience here because potential buyers need not be mislead by other negative and irrelevant reports about the performance of this unique unit.

Warranty Process is slow: This is a good unit as long as you don't need excellent Customer Service and warranty support. I'm referring to the Standard warranty that comes with the unit. I would recommend purchasing the extended warranty and read the Warranty exclusions and see if it applies. My exclusion was that I installed the large capacity 75 gallon in my residence which happens to be a 4 unit bldg. Now this is a residential property with a central water heater, my warranty was dumbed down to a one year plan because it was not a "Single Family Residence". I'm going to research different brands and their warranty exclusions. Hope this helps.

I purchased this water heater in July of 2016 and installed it. The only issue is this heater is heavy and I needed help to lift it on the pedestal. They do make a water heater dolly/lift but no one in my area had one to rent. I got 4 friends to help me to lift it in place. Online I found some documents about how to begin/start with the running of this water heater. Apparently once you plug it in, it runs a diagnostic for about two or three minutes. Let it finish, then you can change the temperature settings to your preference. I used the blanket from my old heater, I know I didn't have too but I didn't want to throw it away. Since I need to plug this into an outlet I am using Tripp-Lite Ultrblok 2-outlet surge protector, direct plug in. It is running with out issue for 8 months now and I expect it will run for a long time. I wanted a 75 Gallon water heater becasue of the number of bathrooms I have and with the wife running the dish washer and the clothes washer in the early mornings when everyone else is taking showers, I wanted to make sure I never run out of hot water.

Surprised that this failed so quickly. Took 2+ hours on the phone with Rheem warranty to order the parts (deliver in 3 days) but install will be on my own. These new water heaters are too high tech where you cannot just replace a thermocoupler as a DIY

The water heater is very energy efficient. We are pleased with the installation process and availability.

This water heater was great for the first year, but ever since then there has been nonstop trouble. First, it was the pressure switch, which customer service was nice enough to send out a replacement. After a couple months the pressure switch has failed again, but not only that the gas valve somehow stopped working also. I will be contacting customer service for parts in order to get my water heater working again. Please do yourself a favor and don’t buy this water heater if you dont want stress on a daily basis.

The Rheem 75G is seriously awesome! I admit I was somewhat forced to buy this unit because I waited until the last minute. The reviews aren’t that great but after evaluating them I felt most low ratings could be based on experience/qualifications. This Rheem unit was easy to install!!!!

Happy with my purchase. I get hot water (perfect temp) right away. I just want to see how my gas bill will be after I get a full billing cycle on this heater.

The gas water heater was purchased on November 1 and delivered on November 4 and installed on the 5th. The trouble of using it is constantly suffering, It didn't work properly. There have been no hot water for more than 10 days，According to the complicated ignition procedure, Follow the steps strictly and usually don't can ignition. Repeated operation, it was hard to ignite, Accidentally lit，After a while, the fault code was turned off. These days, It simply can’t catch fire. Report to the special repairer, procrastination does not solve the problem.

Hot surface ignitor went out after 1.5 years. Rheem has horrible customer service: they will make you wait 30+ min to answer calls and unresponsive to emails. We went a week without hot water not knowing if they were going to get the part and waiting for the part to arrive. We spent $109 for labor to replace part when it finally arrived. However, I suppose I'm lucky, because if I had to replace the unit, we would be looking at about $1300.00 for the same unit due to depreciation of our current unit upon return; it depreciated $265. in only 1.5 years + labor/delivery.

Awesome product. Work perfect. Easy to reset, blower system is very good idea.
