This pedestal does what it says with one minor annoyance
This pedestal works great. It holds your ipad securely and dispenses toilet paper as you might expect. The bottom is weighted to make it stable and the neck is flexible which is a nice touch. The one flaw I've found is that you have to take your ipad out of its protective case every single time you want to use it, which is a bit of a pain.

Practical and cute.
The Pedistal Stand for ipad and Roll Holder brings reading on the throne into the 21st century. It is well designed, sturdy and easy to assemble. The sleek chrome finish and detailing add style and uniqueness to any space.

Solid stand for use of Ipad alone (without protective casing)
Easy to install, looks great, and is durable but only works for Ipads without any protective casing attached after purchase (like an Otter box). Stand dimensions cannot be moved and won't fit an Ipadb with any sort of durable protective casing surrounding it

A perfect Father's Day gift.....
Save strain on my neck and back reading my iPad, they don't need to include a tolite paper roll since you have one anyway. :)

    Great Gadget!
My throne is different than the one in the video but the purpose is the same. Sit and think or sit and piddle........with my I-Pad. Ingenious idea for those of us confined to that special little room.

This item comes in a very nicely packaged, easy to carry box - in fact i would like to keep it but have no storage space. It comes in 5 well packed pieces, most of which are chrome metal. The toilet paper holder insert and the ipad holder are the only plastic pieces. The base has a good weight to it and the pieces all screwed in together very easily. However, the instruction booklet, which comes in four languages is way too small and i had to scrounge around for a magnifying glass and light to read the last instruction - actually to see the picture - because the last piece - the gooseneck tube - has two ends and the instructions don't say which end goes into the ipad holder as opposed to the stand tube. The gooseneck tube appears to be very sturdy and can be twisted in many different positions. After assembling i had hoped to use this for other things besides an ipad that is the exact size of the plastic holder. However it cannot be used for anything else. That would have been nice. The pad is equipped for an ipad (2nd - 4th generation) without any cover. it snaps in. Therefore, it won't hold anything else. I had hoped to use it with a kindle or a book. So I put it in my guest bathroom in case i ever have a guest who comes with an ipad and has the need to be on the toilet long enough to use it!

Great way to keep your ipad clean while going...
It was easy to put up and sturdier than I thought. It's a great device to multitask your every day routines. Now I don't have to clean my Ipad as much. It also tilts upwords so there's no more worries about dropping it in the toilet for when I'm standing. Love it.

      Shorter Than Expected
Product was OK but shorter than I thought. Having difficulty removing the roll holder since I don't need it but for the price, I was willing to sacrifice.

      Swing and a miss...
This is an interesting product and I actually wanted to like it. But I'm afraid it's deeply flawed. The first--and seriously important--problem is the basic idea. That is, an iPad stand meant to be used in the bathroom. The Apple warranty does not cover water damage. You take an iPad into the bathroom at your own risk. I thought, however, it might make a nice stand for use in the living room. iPads are light but holding them up for long periods becomes tiring. It seemed this stand might actually work for times when I'm just browsing YouTube videos or goofing off with a game. For a while, it actually worked rather well. Despite having a toilet paper roll holder (which, admittedly, looks a bit odd on a piece of furnishing in the living room), the stand is a nice chrome and not unattractive. It wasn't too "out of place". The quality, however, is very uneven. The part which holds the iPad rotates so you can change between portrait and landscape orientation. There are two plastic tabs that "lock" the rotating holder in one orientation or the other. Those tabs broke in maybe two weeks of use. This does not render the unit useless but the latching tabs are clearly flimsy. It's not as if I was spinning the iPad around at high speed all day long. In fact, I rarely change orientation in using my iPad. I prefer landscape for everything except ebook reading. I was not rotating it often. I still use the stand but am noticing issues that will render it useless in the not too distant future. The plastic unit that holds the iPad to the gooseneck is attached by a screw that--for whatever reason--works its way gradually loose. Again, this is with ordinary usage. Also, I'm quite careful with my iPad. I'm not made of money and can't replace it every week so I'm not being "rough" at all. Yet I have to re-tighten the screw regularly. A stand meant to hold a not at all inexpensive piece of equipment should be more secure. You also have to be careful of the gooseneck itself working its way loose over time as you adjust the positioning of the iPad (as you will and as is the point of a gooseneck to begin with). The gooseneck merely screws into the pole of the stand. There is nothing to prevent it from gradually loosening even if you aren't adjusting it with any kind of "twist" movement. Worse, if you do try to adjust the position of your iPad with a movement that turns the goose neck base in any way, you will certainly loosen it. I find the product disappointing. There are good aspects to it and with work it could be quite nice. The base is well weighted and the stand is not easily tipped over. I've accidentally bumped it a few times and the worst I've gotten was a wobble that gave me a scare. They did a good job there. The unit looks nice being an attractive chrome and is easily kept "shiny" with little effort in cleaning. And the unit is very easy to assemble. Not the least bit complicated. But the part that holds the iPad is a serious weakness. It's basic design is good and it holds the iPad well. But it has a flimsy feel to it and given how easily the latching tabs broke, I'm leery of how long the holder will last. And the fact that it works itself loose from the gooseneck over time is unacceptable. If that screw comes loose, the iPad is going to fall. That would be, in a word, bad. So you have to regularly check to make sure the screw is secure. I ended up keeping a screw driver in the living room just to re-tighten that screw when I noticed the iPad "wobble" when I touch it. I would like to see the company rework the product. And, ideally, in my opinion, develop a taller unit for use in living rooms. Something I could set next to the couch. They got some things right (such as the well weighted base). But the overall result is a product I can't recommend.

      Hands Free Viewing!
What I like best about this product is that it freed up that all important "second hand" to really get the job done. In the past, I always had to put the dang iPad down ... no longer! Thanks Home Depot!
