I literally bought every brand available at the big box stores and this is the only one that actually worked on killing hornets in our yard. It’s the only brand I’ll use from now on

It kills bees on contact but WARNING: the product is very oily and left a huge oil stain on the brick and mortar.

Excellent reach. Immediate results plus a group of hornets slowed to a crawl. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Wasp and Hornet spray from Spectracide is really effective killing wasps. It is easy to use and acts fast. The potency of the spray is amazing, you can reach wasp flying up to 27 feet away. This is really an insect spray to keep in handy for spring and summer time where there’s so many wasps and hornets around.

My balcony got some small nests all around so i waited for a cool day, got up at the crack of dawn and strapped up with my can, dressed like the hash slinging slasher. Im allergic so to avoid needing my epipen I went out in a huge winter coat, a N95 mask, goggles and tall boots with gloves. I had a total of 4 nests all around…they had a whole perimeter set up. I was nervous theyd see me spraying each nest but i think they were either asleep or didnt care about their buds bc i was able to do each individually without disturbing the other nests and attracting unwanted attention. Very smooth, quiet spray. I held the sprayer down until i saw the little icks drop then i shot them one more time for extra death. I did a light perimeter spray so hopefully that’s that for a while.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasps like to make homes in the corners of the windows on the upper level of my home where they are protected from the elements. I do not like that location because it is right above the front door entrance to my home where they create a nuisance. I love this product has a jet spray that reaches up to 27 feet. That is perfect because it reached the second store eave where they were housed with ease without the need to drag out a ladder. I also appreciate the non-staining formula since my primary purpose was to use the product around my home siding. By the next day I saw no noticeable evidence of wasps swarming around the nest. Since I am not easily able to get up so high to remove the actual nest, I also like that this product continues to kill insects who return to the nest over the next few days. I have also used this product successfully to discourage the carpenter bees who burrow into my wood decking. I only wish this product contained a more targeted and controlled sprayer head. The can sprayer splattered and saturated the entire area around the nests also.

I applied this company’s product to treat our balcony deck area for wasps trying to nest under it. the deck area ( composite material) where I sprayed the product got stained; looked like an oil stain. The stain was disappointing, upsetting, and totally unexpected, as there was no warning on the can application instructions alerting users to the staining. I contacted the company and they totally ignored the staining issue,. Their answer was the product wasn’t contaminated. Ridiculous!!

I had 5 wasp nests and 2 mud dauber nests, one of which was large (pictured) and very active. Nest was 12 feet high and the stream reached them with no issues. Wasps didn't stand a chance. Most killed instantly (you can see them dead in place) with a few stronger ones that fell and staggered around for a minute trying to shake it off but they eventually succumbed. I'd buy again.

We use this stuff everyday. It is the best on the market for killing wasp . Works instantly. You have to be careful the wasp are fast. Better to spray them early in the morning or late in the evening when it is a little cooler outside. They are less active then.

Found a HUGE hornet nest in my back yard. Nest was HUGE bigger then a basket ball. This stuff took them out no problem. Waited til dark, put on a jacket, gloves and a mosquito type head net. Blasted the Hornets around the entrance then filled the nest up with the entire can. Hornets were dropping out mostly straight down but there were a few that managed to fly away though slowly. Doubt they will make it vary far. I'll go out tomorrow mourning and see if there are any survivors but I doubt it. Bought a second can just in case. I recommend Spectracide PRO for bald faced Hornets in MI.

I've used some other brands in the past and been disappointed, I was starting to wonder if they had changed their formulation to be more eco-friendly or something because I wasn't getting the "rain of wasps" effect I remember from 10-20 years ago. More like, the wasps came out mad as heck but after a few days they disappeared. Anyway, Spectracide Pro was what the doctor ordered -- I came out this morning, hit a couple little nests under the eave on my front porch, and immediately more than a dozen wasps fell out dead. No escapees. Plenty left in the can, too. Oh and this can was almost a year old, I bought it after another brand let me down last summer, but hadn't had the chance to use it until now.

I bought this product based on the positive reviews and let me attest it did not disappoint! I live in a two story colonial house and noticed a basketball size nest outside my bedroom window under the eave. Mind you this was 8 to 10 ft past the window out of reach. I sprayed the whole can onto the nest at dusk, waited 24hrs, and with my dads help used a 12 ft stick to knock the nest down. They were all dead! Well worth the $4.27 per can. This product really did what it claims on the can and I did not have to spray twice.

*Disclaimer* Hornets are not to be messed with. They are legit wicked. For my situation this spray worked better than expected. Had a hornets nest bigger than a basketball in a tree. Waited until dark and emptied half the can in their entry spot positioning the nozzle to point up into the nest and filled it. Not a single buzz heard, not one escapee. Problem solved.

Product did the job. Yellow jacket nest in ground with entrance visible (pic attached) at base of iris. July 11, 2018 emptied about half the can from about 10 ft. away during the day--although instructions suggest dawn or dusk when the insects are inactive. Soaked the entrance. An hour later I reviewed the spot--didn't see any insects . . . saw one fly into the entrance--it faltered/staggered and flew away. Today, July 13 I reviewed again--no activity. Some reviewers didn't like the product--said it didn't work: my experience just the opposite. At less than $4.00 this product is worth a try . . . if it doesn't do the job for you there are other slightly higher-priced products.

I used this product multiple times comparing other cheaper wasps killer. I still come back to this spray because it works and I can see it working. The spray foams that I’ve been using may work, it makes a foamy spray but depending on the brand the foam may dissipate quickly and I’ve tried 6 different brands and models. The problem with the foamy spray is that you need a direct shot into the nest hole, if there is an obstacle like a root or weed block the foam doesn’t penetrate deep enough to get to the nest. I just completely killed a nest in my garden and here are the issues I had with the foamy spray. The nest was under bark, under a layer of weed block, and had a root that was also protecting this nest acting like a dam. Pretty smart huh. Anyway the foam would just hit the bark and foam up but not being able to see the hole, I did not know where I was shooting the foam. The cheaper sprays only foamed up for about 5 seconds before it turned into water, so the problem of not seeing the hole, having the layer of bark, weed block, and root the foam didn’t get near the nest. So a couple nights I would disturb the nest and move some bark to see if they would clear a path to their hole. They didn’t so I never knew where they were coming from. They were crawling out of the ground like zombies from all random places. So now coming back to this killer, I would do this during the day when I see them flying around, spray them and watch them die. They die so quickly I was wearing gym pants and a t-shirt. When one comes out I shoot it. I killed around 10 that day. Days went by and no wasps? So after getting more supplies I decided to dig it up, at night of course, and I had a hoodie, jeans, and safety glasses (safety first :D). First used a pick to probe and then I could hear the buzzing, some came out and got sprayed. Then I used a weeder and dug deeper and deeper finding all these obstacles that was preventing me from killing them earlier. Then I finally broke through and found the motherload. I could see all the wasps moving around and buzzing pretty good. So I sprayed them with another cheap foaming spray, emptied the can, but I could see how little foam it was actually making because it was dissipating pretty quick. The wasps were still crawling around maybe slowly dieing so I grabbed the Spectracide Pro killer and sprayed anyone moving. They quickly died and sprayed some more for good measure. Having the root in the way made it difficult to find, but now I can safety say they are eradicated. I have so much confidence in the Spectracide Pro wasp killer that I could use it during the day while they are mid flight and I could see them dieing while flying. I like to track them down and see their dead body. It's like a sport

it did the job and wiped out the nest. before photo shown. i sprayed from 6-8 ft away and product gave a good stream. clear instructions. quick to kill. it would be nice if there was a smaller "one and done" size. i don't like building up a collection of toxic chemicals in the shed.

after reading other reviews and a recommendation from another person for the other product I'm glad I bought this once. picture is of the 3 hive I take down. This thing has instant stopping power

Pro's: The reach of the jet of liquid was just as long and the wasps died just as fast with this one as with other brands. Cons: If one is in a hurry, and needs to buy this brand while in the Home Depot store and does not mind the insecticide dripping on one's hands when pushing the squirt button and does not mind the push-lid-spout falling off from the can, then this is OK for the price. However, I will never buy it again. It would seem that the push-lid-spout was not seriously tested prior to sending to market.

This is the best ready to use product on the market. I am a General Contractor and this is the best over the counter Wasp, Hornet and Yellow Jacket killer EVER! Always apply at dusk or in the evenings when the activity is low. You'll kill the entire nest if you empty the can on the nest while their sleeping!
