It sounds like the pivot bar (the bar that helps rotate the back assembly when folding and opening the chair) wasn't in the proper position. If the bar isn't rotated correctly, then it can make the backrest seem to pitch forward rather than allowing you to recline and relax comfortably.

If you still have the chairs, you can try moving the backrest so that it looks like it does in the picture on the site.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. The arms to the chair shouldn't be wobbly and should be stable. However, they can be pushed out if you are using them to get in and out of the chair as the material is a little flexible.
