The instructions don't mention it, but I found that a PAR38 bulb is too big in that it physically blocks the view of the motion sensor window - so I put in a PAR30 bulb. The other problem is that they advertise that the motion sensor has a 30 foot range. My unit seems to have a range of less than 10 feet. A nice feature is that is has a switch that allows you to set the time that the light stays on; it also has a "4 second" switch position for testing and bypassing the day-night photo cell. I wish the range was a bit further, but all in all, a nice unit for the price.

Works great. Better than any other socket powered sensor light I have tried.

The light turns on when activated. The problem is I cannot adjust the sensor to cover as large an area as I want. The light socket is fixed and it was difficult to screw in. This put the sensor in an awkward position that limits the sensor range.

Easy to set up and works perfectly.

Works well if the receptacle has the right number of turns. I have two outside lights and this works beautifully in one of them, but it does not work in one because it screws in too deep and the sensor is in a poor position to detect motion.

It does the job. If you need a motion sensor light.

One thing to note, the unit doesn't operate when there's daylight so you may need to wait until evening to test the motion sensor.

The light is fine and does work well in an upright position. Porch ceiling lights when bulb is inserted are in downward position, therefore the Westek sensor is in a side position and therefore does not focus outward. My light fixture is not a side of building or upright lamp style mounted type.

Having the perfect outlet to use it is an issue but I put one in an old lamp stand that looks fine on the front porch and put a good bulb in it and it is great. Picks up virtually every angle of approach of those moving toward the porch.

Westek Outdoor Motion-Sensing Light Control was very easy to connect...just add a bulb and screw it in socket. I works very good. I do recommend.

Works as advertised. The hardest part of installation was removing the plastic packing. Take the motion detector out of the package, set light on time duration upon a trigger event (little dial and the back of the detector), remove your flood light, screw the detector into the flood socket and the flood into the detector, and turn on the power and prowl around your yard to determine the aiming of the detector beam (keep the activation timer setting on the shortest time setting until you have aimed the detector).This is the third detector I have purchased and the two previously installed detectors have been operating without any problems for over three years.

Worked for my stair steps in garage as the socket was a pull chain. now it turns on when garage door opens.I can carry groceries up the steps in light.so far I give it a 5 star. how long it will work ? who knows.

They work great, living out in the country along the southern border the number of creatures moving around at night makes lighting certain areas of the property extremely important. Leaving lights on all night is extremely expensive over time; however, with the motion-sensing light control allowed for current light fixtures to be changed into a motion-sensing at a lower cost and also saves on the electric bill. We get the protection of the lights to scare off creatures that could mean harm and also a savings in money on the electric bill and replacement light blubs.

Product did not work once installed. Cannot be used on fixtures mounted to side wall due to the sensor being in the way when trying to screw it in.

Works perfectly! Just screw it in to the socket and it works.
