I was skeptical that this was made of aluminum, All of the ones I have seen before that had a rubber seal were galvanized steel but this is indeed an aluminum plate with a rubber grommet in it. This is purportedly for 3" and 4" pipe to run through. The Rubber is scored to remove a ring to use the flashing for the larger size pipe. I am concerned that this scoring might give up in a few years and cause a leak. I would only recommend using this flashing for a 4" vent situation. Also the working of the aluminum seems to have crimped the plate and the joint between the rubber and the aluminum has some splits. Don't know if I trust this flashing.

This flashing was just what I needed for installing a vent pipe off my roof. The rubber boot is in there "OK" and the aluminum is formed and has clean lines in the bends (unlike what I've heard about this otherwise). From a value perspective I'm not sure why this is at the top of the shelf since the overall material and construction is average to good at best. Either way it does the job and I have no complaints.

This is a very nice aluminum roof flashing will work very well on my new tiny cabin I will be building this year. It's a lot of work and parts that you have to have but it will work with a little wood stove I want to put in my small cabin. I like the smell of fresh dry wood burning so the roof flashing is going to come in handy when I'm ready to put it in.

Oatey has been making great flashing devices for a long time and nobody does it better or at a better price. This boot is used for flashing air stacks of 3" or 4" in diameter. They're real easy to use and no caulking or tar is needed to get a nice weatherproof seal. Always lift or remove enough shingle material to get the top of the flat aluminum part completely under the shingles; the bottom part sits on top of the lower shingles. Make sure the black rubber boot fits tightly over the stack (PVC or metal, it doesn't matter). Then just cut the roofing material it fit snugly around the aluminum flare, reattach and you're done. So easy. Although it's not necessary, we sometimes run a thin bead of asphalt adhesive around and under the top shingle edges just to be safe.

This particular roof flashing for a roof pipe is heavy duty aluminum and seems very durable if something falls on it during a wind storm. Thin aluminum gets holes in it very easily if just about anything hits it.The size is perfect for many applications (12 X 15 inches) and the all-flash rubber portion fits a 3 inch pipe. It also can be adjusted to a 4 inch pipe. Take a pair of pliers and grab at the arrow on the inner ring and pull out. This product is very easy to use.

The Flashing was easy to install. The ability to adjust the opening size was a valuable point. The rubber material for cutout could have been a little softer for cutting. Metal thickness was a concern. This product provided metal that was easy to drill through and stiff enough to hold and lay flat. Flexibility to get under existing materials was a consideration, this flashing was good and easy to work with. No additional material was needed (except sealer). This product worked well. I will use it on other projects.

Handle with care., it's soft metal. Not too hard to install. Looks nice after installed. I would buy it again. I would include a photo of the product installed but Home Depot doesn't allow me to include a photo on this mobile phone web page. Maybe they will fix that some day.
