This was a great save. Love the retractable screen door. When the screen was damaged we thought we'd have to buy a new unit. Was a great surprise to find a replacement screen cartridge on HD website. Even shipped free to the house. Great instructions, Replaced the cartridge and now have a retractable screen door that looks like new for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Thanks Home Depot!

Product arrived with broken parts. No instructions. This was the second time I ordered it because original product was discontinued after shipping to me.

A few minor modifications and no problem. fits great, looks great. About an hour to install.

Pretty easy to replace the cartridge. Just wish the screen was a bit more sturdy because at certain times of the day as the sun starts to set I have had my dogs attempt to walk through it plus a few humans. Then it tears the screen at the bottom. This is why I have had to replace it.

Installation does require two people but was easy. Inclusion of instructions would make it even easier. Lucky for us we had the original instructions.

We had this installed for us. The bugs come in on the sdes and it tears easy. I would never purchase this type of door again.

The one thing I would add to all the reviews is make sure you lay down the screen housing on a soft surface or you will scratch it. The instructions tell you to do this. I'm just writing it for emphasis. Make sure your read the instructions first.

Gave it a good for installation because it was the wrong size, be sure to measure the actual insert before ordering. Once I adjusted the size it went together painlessly. A great fix without having to buy the new housing etc.

Definitely saved me in purchasing a whole new retractable screen.

If your looking for a replacement screen for one of these you don't really have a choice but to buy this cartridge. It was great that I could order it online and have it delivered to my doorstep. Not the simplest thing to install but way less expensive than replacing it.

I had no trouble replacing the sliding screen roller replacement.

Its well worth the effort--but you need 2 people to tension the screen.

As others have mentioned, pay attention to the fact that the instructions are curled up inside of the shipping tube. Be sure to fish them out, read them once all the way through, and then start your work. Even then, you'll need to pay special attention to which side of your sliding door's handle edge faces out vs. which side faces in so that you install it correctly onto the replacement. Other than that, we're loving having a working screen door again. Now, if we can just avoid walking into it or having the dogs run into it...

This was an economical way to fix my damaged retractable screen door.

The replacement screen was purchased online and was delivered in a very timely manner. The instructions provided an easy to follow steps to remove the old screen cartridge and install the new one. Total time on installation was 20 minutes. Very pleased with the overall quality of the product. The retractable screen is nice replacement for the screen door.

The instructions are in the shipping tube. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. Since I had originally installed the screen, I was familiar with the installation process. It took less than an hour to remove the old screen and install the new one. Since the screen is hard to see, I suggest putting a few painted dots at eye level so people will not walk into the screen. This will greatly extend its life.

This replacement screen looks great but is tricky to install. You really need 2 people, one to hold it in place while the other turns the tension rod and screws the bracket into place. I thought the price was a bit high.

I read the online screen replacement customer reviews & warned my hubby of what to expect when the replacement screen arrived. We located the instruction sheet and after 15 minutes into the installation he tried to cut corners only to figure out after another 1/2 hour that following the instructions is a must. He finally got through the process, installed the screen and it works like a charm. ...except, we know our lil doggie is going to tear a hole in the screen to get into the house (like she did before) so we've placed craft-board across the lower section of the screen in an attempt to retrain her.

Instructions are online. Still had to print it out :) so I could follow instructions. I guess I could've used an ipad or something. Make sure to wind up the recommended turns. On spin less and the retractable screen may not pull back enough and the screen won't stay taught in the tracks at bottom/top. I guess sliding the replacement screen into the handle is spooky, looks like I teared it a little, but still worked fine.

Many of the on line reviews I read prior to installing my replacement screen stated that there were no instructions. The screen does come with a pretty good set of instructions. The problem is it is not in the screen, but in the shipping tube. I almost threw them away. After you take out the screen, look in the tube, they are there. Only other issue is it is very difficult to hold the screen in place after putting tension on it. No instructions given on how to accomplish this. I had to wedge something in between the screen and casing. Not a good way to go.

Product is satisfactory, however it is shipped without instructions. I ended up removing the entire screen and tracks from the door frame. Made a ten minute job into an hour long ordeal. Totally avoidable if a set of simple instructions identifing the four screws that needed to be removed were included.

Perfect fit replacement item. Downloaded instructions a little hard to follow - perhaps more specific illustrations needed.

The ODL product was a great value and would have been very easy to re-install in the unit but unfortunately the screening was just to short for the brand I have. The Home Depot on-line ordering, processing, delivery, and return to my local store was a painless smooth process. I really hoped this would have worked but now I have to continue to try and find support for the brand I have. Great job Home Depot!!!

We had to replace the screen because one of my teenage son's friend walked through the screen pulling it completely out! Customer Service at ODL was a pleasure to work with. They asked a few questions, told me the correct part number, and I purchased on line. My husband installed. Now we have to figure out a way for people who are not familiar with our house to be able to see the screen when it is opened or closed. haha
