Beautiful, Sturdy and Easy!
I needed a planter to put on the patio so that my very inquisitive dog would not be able to go through the bars of the patio on my upstairs deck. This is the perfect size. It will be once I get a couple more pots to put on each side. As soon as I get the other pots, I'll be planting herbs in it. Special note: The bottom is a hard plastic "mesh". I am going to put a plastic bag on the bottom to prevent leakage of both soil and extra water. This was super easy to put together. There were no instructions in the box. This was not a hindrance at all. All of the parts basically "snap" together. I am including pictures to provide a good barometer of the width and height of the planter.

ATTRACTIVE SELF CONTAINED PLANTER
This planter has made a decorative addition to my front yard. It is designed to hold several small or medium size plants. The white color is a plus for the hot Florida sun and gives the design a clean natural look. These planters allow you to combine several individual units together to provide an extended garden. The photo will show the great design of this recommended planter.

A very nice garden kit
This is a very nice, well constructed small garden kit that would be suitable for just about anywhere. This kit does have a base so it could be set on concrete but keep in mind that water will seep through the soil and eventually drain through the bottom. It is true that the kit does not come with assembly instructions however it is very simple to put together. I included a photo to assist with the order of assembly. A couple tips to point out is make certain to lock the base plate panels (1) together and don't forget to place the drain sheet (2) before installing the side walls. I am impressed with the construction. A very rugged wall system that should never bow outward from the dirt weight inside the garden bed, and the base plate design that basically locks everything together. The pleasant colored composite wood material should outlive me! I really like this garden kit and will be used throughout the growing season.

Jury is out on this one...
Wasn't exactly what I was expecting from the description, but.... I think I like it... The unit comes without instructions. If you have any mechanical inclination the assembly is not difficult. When I read the description as a raised planter bed I assumed it would also be off of the ground, even if only a few inches to help with pests. It sits flush on the ground. The bottom lattice that holds the plastic flooring and the perimeter pieces together is not strong enough to raise the unit up on blocks unless you support the entire bottom. I ran a piece of hardy board underneath so I could lift the planter about four inches. Overall the material seems durable and I expect to get a few good years out of the planter. I would recommend it. Their is no drain pan to catch the water so be mindful where you place the planter if water run off may be a concern ( i.e. a condo balcony)

Better than expected!!!
I was very pleased with this item. Rectangular in shape about 8-1/2in high made out of very sturdy materials. Very easy to clean. Has a sturdy plastic liner at the bottom which has pin holes in it. It keeps the dirt in and excess water can get out. Easy to assemble it took me about 15 minutes. The design in white will look great in my flower garden.

Easy to Construct!
I was so excited to see the box arrived with my new raised bed! At first I was concerned that I couldn't find instructions but discovered that it was very easy to put together. The Techwood is quite durable and very light. First I set up the walls of the bed and connected them with the pegs. Then I flipped it over so I could complete the bottom. I didn't know what to do with the clear plastic with all of the holes but realized that it keeps the soil in the bed and lets the water flow through. The three black plastic grids snap together in the grooves and allow for air flow under the bed for healthier roots. It took some effort to push the black plastic down onto the corners but then- voila! Instant and beautiful raised bed! As much as I like the white Techwood I think I would like to get a darker color next time so any dirt splashed when I water doesn't show, but I just wash it off and it's clean again.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, Thank you for the nice review on the product. I did notice on the picture of your completed garden kit that some of the posts look a little slanted. Which I think was because there were no instructions in the box. Which we take total responsibility for and would like to apologize to you and all the other reviewers before you that did not get instructions. I think the problem is the posts aren't snapped into the grid fully. The instructions are supposed to be that you snap the grids together first then snap the posts into the grids. As far as it holding up, the product in itself should be fine, however, if you need to you can always take it apart next season to rebuild it. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to give me a call. My phone number is 1 866 728 5273 x320 my name is Richard.

GOOD SIZE PLANTER
This product is the very first I have ordered from Home Depot that came without paper of any kind. No assembly instructions, no product information, no inventory slip....nothing! In the Home Depot online description, it is called, “Ultrashield Technology which is a capped composite lumber”. Whatever that means, it feels like plastic even though it is heavy. And Peruvian Teak looks like dark brown wood textured plastic. The assembly is not difficult once you figure it out. Just remember to lay the aeration sheet on the bottom before you attach the sides. After we got the kit assembled, I really like it! It is attractive, hefty and sturdy. I am going to plant red bell peppers in it. Can't wait!

TURNED OUT REALLY NICE
This product is the very first I have ordered from Home Depot that came without paper of any kind. No assembly instructions, no product information, no inventory slip....nothing! In the Home Depot online description, it is called, “Ultrashield Technology which is a capped composite lumber”. Whatever that means, it feels like plastic even though it is heavy. And Hyams White looks like white wood textured plastic. The assembly is not difficult once you figure it out. Just remember to lay the aeration sheet on the bottom before you attach the sides. After we got the kit assembled, I really like it! It is attractive, hefty and sturdy. I am going to plant multi-colored bell peppers in it. I can't wait!

A beautiful, sturdy planter that is super easy to assemble!
This product is so easy to assemble and you end up with a beautiful planter that should last for years to come. I could not find any instructions in the box, so I was a little miffed at first as to how to make all the pieces into a planter, but I happened to find an instructional video for it on the Home Depot website, and after watching that, it took me less than 10 minutes to assemble it. You don't need any tools whatsoever! The finished product looks and feels very sturdy. The planter frame is made from capped composite wood using something called Ultrashield Technology that'll resist rotting and splintering and accordingly it will not discolor or fade for years to come. The bottom is made from a rubber-like material, three squares which snap together, on top of which you put a thick plastic aeration sheet which contains hundreds of tiny holes to allow for water and air to flow through the bottom, which helps plants grow faster and stronger. I've only owned my planter for one week and I have yet to put something in it, but I know it'll make a pretty herb garden on my patio! In the off season, you can use it as a small sandbox for your (grand)kids.

AWESOME NewTechWood planter!
What a wonderful planter this is! It is beautiful, and I am impressed with the quality of the construction. The walls are very sturdy with about 1/8" composite inside reinforcement panels for strength. The white color is pleasing and it is nice to know that it will not fade or peel. Although there are no instructions included, it is very easy to assemble without tools. If needed, there is an Installation Guide on the description page, and the installation video in the photo section is excellent. I love the idea that up to 3 planters can be stacked to make a taller bed. The grills that hold the perforated plastic bottom are sturdy and it all fits perfectly together. I like that NewTechWood offers other sizes of these planters to choose from. I am looking forward to a planter that does not rot, does not require constant painting, or does not need to be replaced often. This planter is the best I have ever owned and well worth the cost. It can be placed in so many locations, but I've chosen to place it in front of a statue. I am anxious to level it out, and plant some flowers for Venus!

Love it!
This is the easist garden planter I have ever assembled. It is beautiful and sturdy. Inner dimensions are 8 in. high, 41 in. long x 12in. across. Outer dimensions re 14 in. x 43 in. I didn't find any instructions but it was easy to figure out. I laid down the three 12 x 12 in. black grids with the flat side down on a solid surface, alligned each edge and gently apllied pressure to snap them together. Then I flipped it over and placed each corner peice over corresponding indentations and snapped them on, so that the runners all faced each other. After that, the techwood peices slide down to form the body of planter box, with holes for fasteners, which secure them to the corner peices. I placed the fasteners through the holes on one side first and then gave them a light tap with a hammer. This made them all allign more easily. It also comes with a clear bottom peice with small holes for drainage, which is cut to fit perfectly. The end caps can then be pushed over the corners. The planter is sturdy enough that it can be picked up and moved anywhere. It would look beautiful with any type of flowers.

Item was returned to HD. It arrived damaged because iit was VERY poorly packaged. The incompetent associate at the store did not know how to re-order it. By the time I got home to re-order it myself, the website stated it was OUT OF STOCK and did not know when it would ever be back in stock. So, this item was a total fiasco and I found a similar item of better quality at another online supplier.

      Great Purchase
As an 84-year old lady I am truly excited with this purchase and am considering getting another for another part of my yard. I was able to put together by myself and it looks beautiful. I especially like the grid system and the perforated sheet that keeps the soil in and the water can drain out plus the short feet that keep it slightly off the ground. Did not find these features in other items looked at.

        Perfect
Bought this small raised bed to use at bottom of trellis. I had tried growing clematis on trellis for several years, but never had any success. Planted new and transplanted old plants to this raised bed in fresh soil. Growing great already and I plan on mulching box this winter for freeze protection. Just what I was looking for and very easy to assemble.

          Smaller than it looks.
This planter is pretty nice. It was a bit tricky to put together, seems like the locking mechanisms they used could be simplified. The water flow bottom floor is a nice touch. I was a little disappointed in the look/feel of the "composite lumber". I think this was a little misrepresented. This looks/feels very plastic-like. I imagined it being a bit bigger, (dimensions are available, I just didn't measure properly), but also the material feels very cheap. I expected composite lumber to be much more sturdy, similar to composite decking material, instead this was just a few pieces of molded plastic. If you want a cheap faux planter, this one is OK... I'd go check it out at a store before you buy, however.

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. “Reponse: Thank you for your review. We will look into the installation to see what we can do to simplify the installation process. The product is definitely not molded. This product is extruded just like our composite lumber. This is the second generation of composite lumber that has a coating on it, this helps the product keep its color forever as well prevent staining and mitigate scratching, which were problems with the first generation of composite. If you have any other questions or concerns please give me a call at 281-570-6450 x 320, my name is Richard " Thanks, The Home Depot User Generated Content Team
          Cute, good for herbs
I'm going to grow my basil in this planter next year, it is the perfect size for an herb or two on your small porch. It assembles very quickly, but make sure you put the mesh bottom part on before the feet, I did it backwards and had to take the bottom part again. It looks like a decent composite wood, it is definitely plastic but doesn't look cheap. If you put this down on soil it is likely your plants' roots will grow through the bottom and into the ground, so you will need to make sure you put it on a porch or concrete surface or move it often. I like how small this one is because I can move it as needed to help my herbs get sunlight throughout the year.

So easy to install and looks great
This item was shipped in a flat box and came in modular sections/pieces. There were no instructions, however, we were easily able to assemble the garden bed in a matter of minutes. It was very intuitive. The overall quality of the product is great - sturdy, designed well, pieces fit perfectly together, and it looks awesome! We put a few different potted plants (the black nursery pots) in the bed to have a look we can switch out at any time. This garden bed gives a great new design to our patio.

          JUST ADD DIRT
It took me about 20 minutes to put this together. There were no instructions in the box so I had to go to the company's website. Other than that small problem, assembly was a snap. And snap is just what the the pieces did...they snapped together tightly and fit perfectly. For someone wanting an easy to assemble and sturdy planting box, this is the one to buy.

          Awesome new planter
First off, this is a really nice planter. The construction and materials make it seem like it will last a long time. Also it looks like you can hook up multiple planters together if you want, which is a great feature I think I will use in the future. Having said that, the planter itself is a bit smaller than I was thinking based on the pictures (we ordered it online). Also there were NO instructions at all, just a bunch of parts. Having played with Legos extensively as a child it was very easy to figure out, the parts just click together. But I could see how someone without decent spacial awareness could have a hard time with these without instructions.

          Good quality composite box
All in all a nice, good sized composite box that looks to be very durable. Would be great for vegetables or raised flower beds. I'm using along a driveway that gets a TON of sun for a raised vegetable garden. I'll try not to repeat what others have mentioned: Pros: - Composite wood seems pretty durable and I'm hopeful it will last longer than the real wood box I had before this. (Full sun along the driveway is brutal on wood). I do agree with others that the composite is VERY similar to plastic. - Good size and weight means it has a lot of flexibility for where it might fit. Cons: - No it didn't come with instructions. I didn't take off stars for this because it seems like something that can be easily remedied and doesn't impact the quality of the box. (They should just add them to the Home Depot website like other manuals I've found). I was able to figure it out and get it together in about 10-15 minutes. All in all, I recommend!

Composite Lumber Patio Raised Garden Bed Kit in Hyams White
Got my Patio bed kit today and opened the box immediately. Getting ready to plant 6 tomato plants in the bed. Well at first I was a little disappointed (NO INSTRUCTIONS),, so I laid out all the part and took a closer look. All you really need is a rubber mallet and you can assemble the planter. SO I did a quick dry fit and then had the box finished in only 6-7 minutes. Love the lower plastic that lets water flow out thru tiny pin holes so it is not a container that holds water.

          Small, neat lightweight planter.
Mine came without instructions but very easy to figure out how it goes together. Only needed a rubber mallet to assemble. The color is true white. The corners and bottom are made of plastic, the sides are the composite lumber. It looks neater and more polished than the completely plastic raised garden beds. The dimensions measured out as described in ad. Once together you can move it around easily before filling. There are no legs or wheels included. I think you'd need a dolly if you wanted it mobile. The drainage is adequate. I raised mine up on concrete blocks and filled it with my pitcher plants which do best in a peat moss and sand mix. The planter is small enough to cover with clear plastic if I need to maintain humidity for the plants over the summer. I also placed it in front of a basement window which was still letting in water despite attempting other fixes to the problem. We had several days of heavy rain and I'm amazed at how well this worked. The plants are finally starting to pick up as well. The size was just right for this purpose, ( I didn't need natural light through that window.) Fixed a problem, fixed my plants and looks great.
