Bought in 2005, furniture has been great, we seal the wood part every year and put all the furniture away for the winter however the wicker part is breaking

I HAVE HAD THIS SET FOR UNDER 2 YEARS. IT SITS ON MY PATIO UNDER THE ROOF. THE CHAIRS WOULD NOT STAY TIGHT AND KEPT WOBBLING. NOW 2 OF THEM ARE COMPLETELY BROKEN AND THE SCREWS ARE STRIPPED AND CAN NO LONGER BE TIGHTENED. IT LOOKS GREAT UNTIL IT BREAKS!

I purchased the matching seating set. After one summer (I live in Michigan,so we brought in in for storage over the winter) the wood was faded, and just a bit rough looking. After the second summer use the wicker was cracking, the wood was splitting and in really bad shape. Thomasville sent me some wood conditioner and said it was out of warranty. HD referred me to Thomasville. We tossed it. Every seat had cracked wicker. Just poor,poor quality.

This is a dark brown, almost black, wood table set. Chairs have faux wicker seats and backs. I don't have seat pads and are plenty comfortable. I've been using outside and seems to hold up well to the elements. Very good for the $700 price I paid.

very classy looking.very good construction. not too hard to put together. they just forgot some hardware but called custumer service and the parts arrived in a few days. very happy overall. i would reconmend to all.

We cannot say at this point how the furniture will hold up to weather, but the set is well made and sturdy. It has the looks and quality of a kitchen dining set. A beautiful set at a great clearance price. Also ordered the two side tables, which are also nice. The side tables are a little smaller than expected, but will work perfect on our deck.

Got this a couple weeks ago and put it together by myself, although probably would have gone faster with help. Putting soap on the screws was definately helpful. The only problem I had was one of the seat bottoms only had one groove for the back, but I notified them and they are shipping a new seat bottom. This set looks so much more expensive than it was and have gotten a LOT of compliments. I will probably cover it in the winter, altough it looks like it will weather well. Just love it!

I have had the matching 7 piece seating set for 3 years now, it has held up well. This dining set is very attractive and appears to be very sturdy. Difficult to find better quality at this price point (special price of $700)

This set is very nice! The chairs are spacious and comfy. The color is rich and the finish is easy to clean. My husband and 7 year old daughter put the chairs together without much trouble. I'm glad I have the set and I'm considering adding additional peices.

I LOVE THIS SET!! Looks great, no need for cushions. That was what I wanted because I spend a fortune on replacement ones every year due to sun bleaching....it all adds up to a new set every few years, another plus for this set. The seat are perfect without a cushion. It looks like a $1,000.00 set. I am a female & I put the table together in 10 min. with tools that came with it. Needed a bit of help with the chairs but also fairly easy. Used my own tools. The set was packages very well. It was delivered to my summer home, on a island, and it took about 2.5 weeks, considering it was free shipping, I think that was fast. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS & MIGHT BE BUYING ANOTHER SET FOR MY HOME ON THE MAIN LAND.

This is a beautiful dining set for my patio. It is sturdy and durable and looks very expensive. It makes a wonderful addition to my outdoor space, but it is lovely enough to use indoors too!

This is a great set. It is easy to assemble. My daughter and nephew and I put it together in less than an hour using only the tools and hardware provided and a socket wrench. It comes in four boxes (three for the chairs and one for the table) and each box has the tool needed to to put the pipeces together. My rechargable screwdriver was dead and would have made the job even shorter. A socket drive made quick work of attaching the legs to the table. The chairs are very sturdy and comfortably hold all 275 lbs of me and my big butt. Can hardly wait to move it out to the deck, as we have been using it as a dining room table since we had company.

I bought this for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary. I'm so happy for them. It looks great on their deck and they are delighted. A must for the price and the product.

We just received this set and the umbrella. Everything was well-packaged and arrived in a timely fashion. The patio set and umbrella are well-made and the assembly instructions are easy to follow. We did follow the advice of a previous review by using soap on the screws to ease installation on the chairs. The entire ensemble is striking and classic! The set is sturdy and roomy to seat six adults. We are looking forward to entertaining more outdoors, as well as, enjoying our backyard and patio. We are somewhat concerned about how the set will weather but plan to store it in the garage during the winter. We also purchased a cover to protect the set from the sun and rain.

Due to somebody's goof, I just bought this set for $350. It would have been worth at least the regular $700 price. I could not be happier. This set looks so classy and the quality is fantastic. We had no trouble putting it together and did so in about an hour. The table is not plastic, it is solid WOOD. And the attention to detail is superb.

I am so grateful for the information and reviews of this product. I hesitated buying the set because the price was so much lower than other wicker resin products but the set exceeds expectations. The chairs have enough weight to hold them in place on windy days and they are comfortable even without seat cushions. (We bought seat cushions and have yet to use them.) It looks really good on our NYC deck. You also get stain with the set so that you can keep the wood dark, as I plan to do, but of course you could also let it weather. The table is basically resin, or plastic, but it's dark so it doesn't look cheap.

I just received this delivery a few days ago, so I don't have a total valid opinion yet. However, here are my initial thoughts. The table and chairs look very nice and are very sturdy. It is a lot of product for the money. However, the set is very formal. When I think of outdoor sets, I think of reclining comfortable sets. That, this is not. It's kind of like sitting at the diningroom table, on my deck. Anyway, if you are in it for the astetics, then I recommend this product. My other comment is that it is impossible to put together w/ the tools provided. The table took my 10 minutes. I spent 1 hour putting 1 of 6 chairs together. The holes for the screws are not big enough and forcing them in with the allen wrench provided is nearly impossible. i stripped 3 allen wrenches in the process. I put together the second chair last night, with my new allen wrench connector to my battery operated drill set, much easier. Took only 10 minutes. Be sure you have one of these before attempting to put this set together.

This set is so beautiful! We bought it in store as it's less expensive there. Looks very expensive and was not that difficult to put together. Definitely recommend.

Purchased last year and have been very pleased. We also bought the side chairs with the center table. Easy to assemble and good workmanship.

This set is absolutely fabulous! It truly stands apart from your typical patio set. I read the reviews here about assembly before I made my purchase online. I took a chance and asked my local store would HD assemble it for me if I purchased it from the store. They were happy to do so at no additional cost. It was ready in only 2 days.

Everyone loves our new outdoor dining space. We really enjoy the 'high-end' look that this set brings to our patio. Delivery took about 2 1/2 weeks - put everything together in about 3 hours (took a little longer than some of the others here -- too many breaks?) Anyway, only problem was the long screws on the chairs --- they proved to be very HARD. Don't know why the soap hint didn't come to mind. Despite the setup - setbacks, would buy again. Never owned wood outdoor furniture however so am curious about long-term durability. Owners guide recommends using a wood cleaning/sealing product from company called ScanCom for maintenance.

This set looks like a $3K set from a high end catalog. It's not cheap, but the quality is there. I'm pretty handy, and it took me about 90 minutes to unpack everything and get it assembled. The chairs come in 3 boxes of 2 each (each box is about 55 lbs) and the table box weighs 83 lbs. A midsize SUV with the seats down can hold the whole thing. A couple of tips on assembly- DON'T use the supplied tools. Use a 1/2 inch socket and a ratchet on the bolts for the table legs. You can hand tighten and finish up with the ratchet. You will have a much easier time with the chairs if you use a hex bit and a ratchet as well-rubbing the screws against a bar of soap (as mentioned above) is helpful especially with the longer screws. I did the chairs on a folding table with a couple of towels on it to prevent scratching and sliding. All of the pilot holes line up really well and the whole set is really solid. We looked at a few of the sets with metal chairs and glass-top tables but they felt kind of flimsy. This is real furniture-we hope to have it a LONG time.

I am totally happy with my purchase of this patio set. My neighbors cannot believe that it really is an outdoor set. It not only looks great but is very comfortable also. I was surprised as to how comfortable it is. Assembly was extremely easy also. Took maybe an hour to put all the chairs and table together. I would recommend this set to anybody looking for something better than just a normal looking patio furniture set. It really does make my deck look more sophisticated!

My wife fell in love with this set. We ordered it and it came on time. We put the table together in less than 10mins. However, the chairs were a different beast all together. The chairs come with two types of screws. (SHORT & LONG) The short screws were easy to screw in. But the long screws were a beast!! They would turn with ease using the tool provided, but once you get close to the end it became difficult to turn. I stripped three screws and had to replace them in the hardware section of Home Depot. So now have a great set with a few silver screws and the wifey is going crazy. Eventhough no one will notice. Assembling the chairs requires 2 people. (One Screwing-Other Holding the otherside together) Also keep a pair of Vise Grips handy to get them out if stripped. You would think an expensive set like this would be better. We also bought the 10ft umbrella which adds flare to the overall look.

This set is extraordinary for this cost. It looks like some of the sets I looked at which cost $3000. It is a really dark brown and looks rich. It was very well packed with easy to find tools and even has extra stain. It was easy to put together. The chairs are a little more work than the table. The chairs are extremely comfortable and smooth. I probably won't be getting cushions for them. The table even comes with a solid brass cap to place in the umbrella hole when not using it. I HIGHLY recommend this set. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased this product after having two glass top tables break on me last year. This set was easy to assemble and seems to be very sturdy. It looks great on our deck and the table is large enough for the six chairs to fit comfortably around. I highly recommend this set, only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that the chairs to seem to get a litlle uncomfortable after long periods of time. Looking at getting cushons to take care of this problem.

I purchased these along with the Thomasville Nature's Retreat Seating Set. They match completely in style, construction and color. I also purchased the matching umbrella which provides full table coverage during the mid-day sun. The chairs are upright and formal, with each having arm rests. The arm rests easily fit under the table. The wood is stained a dark brown color with some rough patches that is expected with wood. The set comfortably sits 6 people and was quite popular during my recent BBQ party. We had to take the center umbrella out to play Clue later that night so that everyone around the table could see the board and have it placed at center :)

The set was easy to assemble. The finish looks great. The seats are roomy and comfortable. The overall look is beautiful. It goes well with the Kampar set we have for casual seating. We have received many compliments on this item.

I am thoroughly impressed with how beautiful this patio dining set is!!! Each piece came with detailed, clear instructions for assembly, full tool set and touch up oil. The whole set was packaged meticulously with the tool kit having a red ribbon on it so that it wouldn't be missed. The boxes of furniture got soaked as we were hit by a storm on the way home. All pieces were nice and dry as we removed them from the boxes. The chairs did take a little time to put together, but they were easy. Tip - Rub the ridges of the screws on a bar of soap for easier screw in (an old carpenter's trick). This set looks like it cost much more than $999 because of it's beautiful finish and high quality look and feel. Best purchase I have made in a while. We bought a nice cover for the set for longevity purposes.

I am a big fan of Thomasville furniture, and was so glad to see they came out with their outdoor patio product line. Purchased this patio dining set 2 weeks ago and was just delivered. Patio table was easy to set up, took me about 10 minutes at most. However, the 6 chairs took me about 2 hours to set up. Maybe it's just me, but I consider myself to be very mechanically sound with my engineering background. However, once it's all done, they look gorgeous and sturdy. I love the beautiful black finish, which compliments my Summer Silhouette sectionals and chaises, also made by Thomasville. The only concern I have is taking care of this set and re-stain it every year. One thing that bothered my wife is the length of the table. It's kind of short, shorter than other patio dining tables that we have looked at. We are now considerng buying another set just like it to increase our seating capacity because we often have more than 6 adults at our gatherings, and this table won't have enough space for us to squeeze in any extra seats.
