My husband and I bought the mixed brick and grout ourselves, but we had a friend install it. Did not even take the whole day, and it looks so good. Worker said that it was pretty easy to install. Once the grout was put in, it made my kitchen look so different and all we did was ad this back splash. Highly recommend this product and wasn't one of the more expensive back splashes.

Good Looking product
The tile was beautiful. However, this is a slate product and slate is brittle by nature. Some of the tiles sheared the facing off of them. I just used super glue to hold it on until I was ready to apply the grout. I would probably use a more durable tile the next time I install a backsplash.

Stone kitchen backsplash
This was exactly what I was wanting for my kitchen backsplash. I wanted real stone tiles in lieu of the glass or ceramic tiles. It gives the kitchen more of an earthy or rustic look. My brother in law said it gives more of an Italian look to the kitchen. I like how the tiles have different textures and vary in depth. This adds to the real stone appearance. The tiles have different colors that I feel would work with a variety of color schemes but my kitchen is gray and it looks wonderful. I used the natural gray simple grout. Love the grout color. This is a sanded grout, wish I would have used non-sanded as it may have made the grouting step easier. Being the tiles have texture and differing depths, it made it difficult to get all the sand and grout out of the little grooves in the tiles. You have to make sure the grout doesn't bury some of the tiles that don't protrude as much as others. Due to this I docked a star for ease of installation. But the real stone character is worth it! Love my backsplash!

Good Looking Tile
Used this tile to reface my fireplace. Really glad I choose this product. The slate tile are on a mesh backing making it a breeze to install. Very happy with the results. My wife loves it. Also used the 6 x 6 matching tile for the hearth. FYI make sure you clean the dried grout off the tile and use a sealer, it'll bring out the different colors and textures. I would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the tiles that kept falling off the mesh backing.

very happy!
Installed this in my kitchen today. The product was easy to cut (with tile clippers) and apply to wall.I shopped around looking for the best price and Home Depot definitely blew the competitors out of the water. Great product all around.

Disappointed at the least chalky poor quality drab
I had purchased these tiles earlier and loved them BUT they changed the MFG and I didn't realize it because the picture is of the OLD supplier. These are very bland, color variation is minimal, edges are sharp, they chalk and they split very easy. I have no intention of removing them and starting over. Fortunately my previous purchase is the major area around the sink and tub and these extras were only border. Ready to grout today and hope they don't bleed iron red into the grout. when I get them wet they continue to lose red color. I should have realized when they were so chalky in the package something was wrong. That was my error. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Terrible Tile
Tile pieces were literally falling off the mesh before instillation. Once cut brick fell apart in layers. It was so bad my tile guy showed up and refused to even put it up.

Level is an issue
I used these for my shower floor, the unevenness from tile to tile on the same sheet made for a very difficult installation. I hated the high and low spots when I installed these on the sheets. It bothered me so much that I got out of bed at 3 AM and tore them all out, pulled them off the sheets and cleaned the thinset off all 679 of them. I then re-installed them one by one so that I could get a consistent evenness throughout the floor. They ended up looking great, but what an absolute pain. I'm sure they are an easy install on a backsplash or other non critical installation, but for $8.48 a sq foot I expected a more consistent product

many of the tiles were mounted unevenly, not in a straight line-the installation required many adjustments as far as cutting the mesh to align the tiles. The size of the tiles also varied a great deal.

Kitchen backsplash
I installed this as my kitchen backsplash and it looks great!! I sealed it before putting it up so cleaning the grout off wasn't a problem. I love the variation of colors in the product. I also used (can't remember what its called) the adhesive paper (almost like large double sided tape) instead of mortar and I haven't had any issues. Love it and very happy with my decision.
