Handy - built like a tank
Absolutely love this thing, didn't think I'd use it much but I do. -Very lightweight & well built -Tons of torque - pull the trigger on full battery and it'll twist in your hand a bit -Great for installing cabinets attaching face frames -Throw a drill brush or buffing pad on it, you can deep clean carpets & upholstery, buff your windshield or headlights (feels more natural than an actual drill to me for this purpose) -The 1.5 battery last plenty long for me -Light underneath chuck is helpful

    great drill for tight spaces!
I bought this drill to use in close quarter access. I already have the M18 version which has been very helpful. The more compact size of the M12 drill and battery allow for greater access in those tight spaces.

Great for getting in tight spots!!
Milwaukee's M12 right angle drill is perfect for getting into tight spots that a standard drill cannot fit into. The head size is 3 3/4 inches which really gets you into spaces that no other tool can get into. The drill delivers 100 in/lbs of torque which is plenty to be able to drill into wood or light metals in tight spots. The drill has a 3/8 chuck and also features an electronic clutch with12 torque settings. Along with an on board LED light and fuel gauge, this drill is very simple but packs loads of features. The paddle switch makes for easy use of the tool. I also own the M12 installation driver but even that tool has it's limits in terms of getting into tight spaces. This right angle drill really helps me to get into tight spots, especially when I am working with machinery. The tool is very well balanced, I prefer to run a 2.0 battery on the drill for best balance. With this tool I don't have to bother with right angle attachments to get into those tight spaces. Overall very functional!!

I've always used 18 volt tools but needed a smaller one to fit between joists and HVAC systems/appliances. This is the perfect size and weight. It has enough power for what I need it for. I wouldn't use it for major drilling or anything. I've been using milwaukee for over 20 years and although their quality has gone down a little, they are still very reliable. Batteries have gotten a lot better over the last decade or so, also.

Works great - pricing for both purchases at once is a better buy. Used the drill to create the holes for the cabinet hardware in attached images. Used the impact driver to repair 2 of the drawers and to screw the hardware into place. Works great.even used the drill to snake a tub and the battery lasted and still had half charge remaining and full charge on the other after a full day of use with both.

Bottom line, the hammer drill is a freight train. It does not bog down under load. However increases power to match demand. The impact driver will drive medium size tapcons and 6 inch lag bolts and screws. The belt clip is awesome and the tools do not fall off. The impact driver will remove most Automotive Fasteners however will not remove lug nuts for it was not designed for that. My only complaint is that the tools get rather hot under heavy constant use, but does not affect performance whatsoever.

Bought this combo after testing three brands at my local HD. There was a setup with boards and drills and screws. The Milwaukee was the smoothest and fastest of all three. Since owning this combo, I've searched for projects to work on using my drill, impact kit. Recently I layed bamboo flooring in my half-bath. The first two rows required drilling and face nailing. The Milwaukee performed perfect; smooth, fast and easy to use. I also like the warranty of the battery and drills. I had seen this set before but didn't buy waiting on a special, when they went on sale I bought....and got a free upgrade battery. What a deal! Really love this drill set. I'm a first time owner of Milwaukee tools and will say it is these are the best drills I've owned.

Compact and powerful. Thoughtfully designed. Combo kit includes two very useful tools capable of tackling any DIY or professional project.
As a fairly new homeowner and avid DIYer, I use power tools often, especially drills and drivers. I own several Milwaukee corded and cordless power tools, and find them to be thoughtfully designed, extremely high-quality, powerful, and reliable. The M12 12V Li-Ion ½ hammer drill/driver and ¼-in. hex impact driver are no exception. The 2-tool combo kit includes a 1/2-in. cordless hammer drill/driver and ¼-in. hex impact driver, a M12 FUEL Li-Ion battery for each tool, and a charger station, all of which stores in the included lockable hard plastic blow mold carrying case. At a little over 7.5” in length and about the same height, and weighing in at just over 2 lbs., the drill is essentially a more compact version of Milwaukee’s 18-volt drill void of a side handle, allowing you to work in tight spaces. The keyless chuck firmly grasps the bit and doesn’t slip or come loose during periods of extended use, or when the drill is run in reverse under load, which is a problem I’ve experienced with a couple popular brands of drills I’ve owned. The charger has a single station capable of charging one of the included M12 batteries at a time. The included 4-amp-hr and 2-amp-hr batteries are interchangeable and are also capable of being used in other Milwaukee cordless tools I own. The larger capacity battery provides more run time than the smaller capacity battery. Unlike a standard NiCad battery that gradually runs down until dead, lithium-ion batteries will allow the tool to function properly until they abruptly die, resulting in a longer useful run time than NiCad powered tools where functionality fades as the battery drains. Each M12 battery is fully recharged in 30 mins. for the 2 amp-hr battery and 50 mins. for 4-am-hr battery by removing the battery from the handle of the tool and inserting it in the charger station. Having an interchangeable pair of batteries means you can continue to work without a long period of interruption. Indicator lights on the charging station glow to signify that a battery is charging and has reached a full charge. Like all Milwaukee tools, the drill and impact driver are thoughtfully manufactured with features such as a stainless steel belt clip, comfortable, ergonomic non-slip rubber grip, a handy LED light that operates by the trigger to illuminate your workspace, and a LED power indicator to show the amount of battery life remaining. The tools are lightweight and feel balanced and comfortable in the hand. With 9-clutch positions and 2 speed settings, allowing you to customize the torque from 2-18, and a variable speed controlled trigger, the drill is very versatile. For me, 9-clutch positions is about 7 positions more than I’ll ever need or use for the type of light-carpentry work for which I generally use a drill, but for driving things like deck screws, the slower lower torque setting is ideal, giving you power as well as control so you don’t drive the screws too deep into the decking boards. For making holes, pair this drill up with a high quality set of bits, select a high-speed setting on the clutch and this drill will quickly plunge through whatever material you place in front of it. In the early-days of cordless tools, before the introduction of hi-capacity lithium-ion batteries, I was not such a fan of cordless tools, finding they were big and bulky and lacked power with batteries that were short-lived and expensive to replace, so I held onto my corded tools even though they required an extension cord and a power source, making them less convenient than cordless tools. Although the cost of replacement batteries is still high, over the years, there has been a tremendous amount of improvement with cordless tools and battery technology, with tools becoming more compact with more powerful, longer lasting batteries, so I no longer shy away from cordless tools and have come to prefer them over most corded tools. Since neither of these tools is under a lot of demand for power, battery life is excellent, allowing me to work with either tool for several hours on a single charge. I needed to remove the bolt on my water heater to replace the sacrificial anode rode inside, which is supposed to extend the life of the water heater. What would typically be a two-person job with one person holding the tank from moving while the other tries to work free the bolt with a 2-foot breaker bar, I was able to accomplish by myself using only the drill with an attachment for a large socket. Impressive! I also used the drill and the impact driver to tighten several Phillips screws for a work bench I was building. Both tools worked flawlessly and effortlessly to tighten down 3-inch long screws in 2x4 pine, without binding. While I think the drill is near perfect, with the exception that it doesn’t include an auxiliary handle typically associated with a hammer drill, the only con I have is that the impact driver chatters as it spins, especially in the lower torque setting, but I can’t say it produces more noise than other impact drivers, since I haven’t used any other. This 2-tool combo kit is a lot of tool for the money and I highly recommend it as a worthwhile addition to your tool box.

Best 12 Volt Hammer Drill/Driver and Impact Driver Available
I’ve been using 18-volt cordless tools for quite some time and decided to find out what all the hoopla is about with Milwaukee’s new line of M12 Fuel (Brushless) tools. The Milwaukee 2597-22 Kit includes the M12 Fuel ½” Hammer Drill/Driver, M12 Fuel ¼” Hex Impact Driver, one 4 amp-hr high capacity battery, one 2 amp-hr battery, and a battery charger. After using the drill and impact driver on several projects, I am very impressed with their performance. It’s truly 18-volt performance in a subcompact package. Comments are provided below: The M12 Fuel ½” Hammer Drill/Driver is essentially a smaller version of Milwaukee’s powerful 18 Volt Brushless Hammer Drill, minus the side handle. With 350 inch-lbs of torque, the M12 Fuel Hammer Drill delivers best-in-class performance, and does it all day long with the 4 amp-hr battery. It has a 2-speed all-metal transmission, ½” chuck, and a separate switch for selecting drill, driver or hammer mode. I drilled several 1/4” holes in concrete, along with 1”spade-bit holes in 2x4 lumber; and it never missed a beat. The M12 Fuel ¼” Hex Impact Driver is very compact and weighs only 2.2 lbs. However it pacts a whopping 1200 inch-lbs of torque, and includes a two speed mode selector for better control when precision fastening is required. The ergonomics of the tool are very good and it has an LED light and battery gauge built-in for convenience. A few days ago I had an HVAC Technician repairing ductwork due to recent water damage, and I let him try out the new Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hex Driver. He was amazed with the performance from such a small tool, and I had a hard time prying it out of his hands. Overall I am very pleased with the new Milwaukee 2597-22 Kit. When you combine two of the best sub-compact tools on the market, it’s hard to find fault. The kit is pricey, but still a great value for such high quality tools. Highly Recommended!!

Excellent tool for hard to reach places.
Just a really handy tool to have to reach hard to get to places. It's got plenty of power and fits a battery that I have for numerous other tools in this particular Milwaukee family. I have the drill, flashlight, remote camera and drill dirver as well as this new tool. There's really nothing this powerful and small out there to get between a furnace and a return air to take out screws that were put in before they ever attached the return air.(See picture)
