I'm a US Army veteran. I make music therapy instruments out of old propane tanks for Vets with PTSD. These instruments need to be precisely tuned and the this angle grinder allows me to do that. I use it for sanding and cutting. The power and reliability of it allows me to make the accurate cuts needed. Hundreds of veterans that have had their lives changed and many had their lives saved because of this tool. I tried many other brands before this one and none worked well enough. I would definitely give this a 5-star review IF the first one I received hadn't died after five cuts. However, I was able to return it and ordered a replacement. It arrived quickly. My only use for this so far was as a cut-off tool, using a Lenox MetalMax blade to cut the hang rails and wire shelves as part of a walk-in closet remodel. (The cuts were so fast and effortless, it was almost scary!) Using it for that, however, requires turning the unit on its side, and I wanted something I could operate easily and safely in that position, which made a lot of grinders out of the question, due to the placement of the switch/trigger or the diameter of the handle. This unit has a longer, slimmer handle design, which made it easy to hold on its side with two hands for more precise cuts. And the trigger design is incredibly easy to use, even in that position (unlike units with a top or side switch that you wouldn't even be able to reach when holding it in the position I used). The other features I loved are the ease of adjustment of the guard - minimal effort, super quick - AND the fact that the guard works with cut-off wheels, unlike some brands/models out there which a) require more effort to adjust the guard and b) require a different guard altogether - if one is even available - to use with cutoff wheels. Startup when pulling the trigger was pretty smooth, especially considering this doesn't have the slow startup feature on some tools. Noise (of the tool itself) is minimal and vibration was so low I didn't even think about it. Instructions are well written and pretty easy to follow. Only downsides I can think of are that it does take longer than I expected for the wheel/blade to stop turning, so I had to wait a little longer than expected if I wanted to put the tool down after a cut (and not run the risk of it damaging the surface I laid it on). And if you needed to use it in a smaller space with limited room to move the unit, the longer handle design on this might not be the best option.

Excellent for beginners and professionals... great balance

Powerful grinder with a nice handle grip. Good warranty to go with it. Last one lasted a long time. Did buy again.

Easy to use so far. The size of the grip, the location of the trigger, and the length of the cord make it comfortable for long stretches of grinding. I do pause regularly to prevent the motor from overheating. This is my first time working with an angle grinder. It's a really useful tool for removing rust and preparing my project car for painting.

Grinder is outstanding, "Milwaukee quality" Grip is great, easy to control without fatigue. Only thing I just wish Milwaukee would have included a Milwaukee tool bag with it for storage and its accessories!!

comfort and extra control with the long handle make extended operation a breeze

Lives up to the Milwaukee brand. Trigger handle makes it easy to control for most jobs but I'm thinking now that the standard grip is probably better for when you want to turn it over to cut holes in tile. It would also be nice if it had a brake for safety but that would make the grinder a lot less affordable.

I Manily Use This Product To Grind Down Welds After I've Completed The Project. It Runs Great, Don't Stall Out, Over Heat, Or Any Of The Things A Lesser Product Does. This Is A Safe Tool To Use, And You Can Count On It To Do A Great Job, And I Do Use It For Other Things, Such As Removing Rust, Etc. And It Always Comes Through For Me. I Recommend It To Anyone Who Needs A Great Grinder Of This Size For Any Job They Might Have To Do.

This is a well designed grinder and heavy duty for its size and I highly recommend this product .

This item was purchased for a College Welding lab. We had purchased three others from another retailer and were pleased so ordered three more through Home Depot

I bought this grinder to clean welds. Once again, another great Milwaukee product.
