This is a cadillac.
I am a professional residential electrician. I drill a LOT of holes in wood. This is the first drill in 17 years that if used correctly, will not hurt me. So far. The speed control is like a power control also, so that if you are drilling in naily wood you just turn it down some. The leverage advantage of the longer handle is enormous. Awesome tool!

    Trouble getting started
I purchased a Milwaukee 1663-20 drill for drilling 1 inch holes 12 inches deep in 100+ tree stumps. This was to add chemicals to decay the stumps. Each stump needed a hole about every 4 inches so there were several hundred holes to drill. Other drills were tried but none of them could provide the continuous high torque needed to turn the self-feeding auger. The 1660-20 has the torque to drill for hours without heating up. My initial usage was not good. When drilling the first hole the auger drilled in about 5 inches and the hole loaded up with shaving. This created a lot of torque. When the drill was reversed to disengage the self-feeding auger and clear the hole there was a pop and the chuck came off the drill. The screw that retains the chuck had broken. This was within the first 20 seconds of using the drill for the first time. Not impressed. Called Milwaukee and they instructed me on how to reattach the chuck and sent a new retaining screw. Since reattaching the chuck and replacing the retaining screw several hundred holes have been drilled without a problem. Looks like the drill is going to work after the initial problem.
