This is a nice quality tile. There are two things you need to know. It is not a true black. It looks a touch gray. The only other thing is that it has a decidedly rough texture. It looks like velvet and feels like fine sandpaper. I bet it would be great for floors, but I could not use it for my wall application as it needed to be compatible with a semi-gloss black surface that I had already installed. I also wondered if it would be easy to clean off the water spots and splashes that it would be exposed to above my sink.

Very attractive tile with the durability and easy maintenance of porcelain. However, it is NOT the same size as the Lisse White 13 x 13 tile - the white is a smaller by about a 1/4 inch. We laid it in a checkerboard and made up the difference using black grout...but it made for some mighty wide grout lines.

Thanks for your feedback on our Lisse Black. While both the Lisse Black and Lisse White are from the same series, they do not come from the same caliber. From what you described, it sounds as if both came from varying caliber sizes. This is an intrinsic character of ceramic tile and can only be avoided if you purchase a rectified tile. Having a rectified tile means that the edges have been ground down for precise sizing.

Matte finish, not recommended for large applications
This is a true white tile but the finish is "matte". In other words, not glossy. Be very careful to remove grout before it sits on the tile long enough to stain it. I only needed a small amount to fill-in where we removed a built in bar. This was the only 13" white tile I could find. Not recommended for most floor applications because it will not clean easily. Otherwise- it's exactly as described.

Not a smooth tile
I wanted this for walls, product description says it's smooth but it's not. It'd make a good floor, you'd feel the resistance. Price is excellent for porcelain though.

Nice tile for kitchen floor
I purchased this tile along with the matching black version to make a retro checkerboard-style kitchen floor. It looks fantastic! Very durable and a nice finish that is a good compromise between a gloss and a matte.
