Item was on sale, was very easy to put together and looks great. We put our new big screen tv on top and our satellite and modem in the shelf. Looks wonderful and uncluttered! We get lots of complements on it. The heater works good and the "fire" also looks nice.

We returned and replaced the unit and experienced the same issue with both units. After 4 times trying to contact a tech support person, they started the trouble shooting with... Is the unit on a designated circuit (no extension chords)? Is the unit near a window? Is the unit at least THREE FEET AWAY FROM A WALL? I'm sorry, this is a flush wall application cabinet, not designed to sit 3 feet away from a wall.

Bought this fireplace to help heat my basement. My basement is only 800 sqft. and this wouldn't keep it warm at all. I set the temp at 71 and it never got it over 69, and would stay running constantly. Although this was a very pretty and well made piece I had to take it back. Will probably just go with a gas fireplace.

Bought for my mother to help heat family room, which is always 5-10 degrees colder than rest of house. We used to move the TV to the living room in the winter because she gets cold so easily. Not this winter! With her new heater, now when she watches TV she is comfortable, even on the coldest days, without cranking up the furnace and boiling the rest of the house. We have always had a baseboard heater in this room, which helped, but because of space limitations could not be placed very near the couch so was insufficient. The fact that this heater replaced the old TV stand meant we could fit it easily, and it is now in front of her rather than way off to the side. The fan (quiet) blows the heat toward her, and, in fact, the whole (large) room heats up nicely. The look of the piece is elegant, and the look of the "fire" is much nicer than I expected. Mom says it warms her just to look at it! Remote is easy to use, even for my 85 year old mother - she can adjust the heat or the flame effect up or down without getting up. Also, comes assembled - just have to add the top piece if you want to use as a media center (very easy) and the corner extension if you want that. Very happy with the features and quality of this product.

So far I am keeping this unit, but the thermostat does not seem to be accurate. We must have it set to 80 or higher to make it actually be ~72 in our space. The setting on the unit is for 80 and our portable temperature unit will indicate the room is actually 72 and the unit has kicked off.
