Did you know that specific doors are required for dark pigmented paints? Neither did I until I learned this. And these doors are great. Love them

I had these doors for 2 years when the mini blinds broke off. I was kind if relief we had still manufacturer warranty, but when I called Masonite they told me the warranty was only to replace the Insert (Glass/Blind portion with border) they told me it was really easy to replace and to remove the screw covers myself! NOT.... I had a hard time taking those Screw covers and when my husband and I were trying to install the insert it would not go in even after we removed the border, at the end the darn glass shuttered luckily I was not hurt bad but I did had several cuts. I will NOT recommend these kinds of doors. I regret getting these it would it being much better to just buy without the insert or if they were easier to install the inserts!!! frustrating.... I called customer service and after talking to a representative they are sending me a new insert ....

I bought these doors as an instock item for half the regular cost. The blinds, heat, and light reducing features are great. I got the door in place with my son's assistance in about two hours but ..... With the frame square, plumb and exact according to a 4 ft level, the doors were jammed tight and inoperable. I tried finessing the shims without effect. At this point I hired a pro because I wasn't sure if there was a manufacturing problem or the squaring required more skill. The pro was also confounded but after two hours of micron adjustments to shims and tightening and releasing tension on the screws securing the frame, the doors were operational. The door latch holes were still misaligned just enough to make the latches inoperable. Another an hour of finessing the frame as well as DIY cutting of latch holes and strike plate cutouts we got the knob and deadbolt working. But the doors are manufactured so that the knob strike plate is not completely recessed and scrapes the latch plate when closing; more DIY. The doors are manufactured without holes drilled for the vertical security bolts and there is no cutout for security bolt strike plate; more DIY.
