Disappointed that this fan does not accept any universal lighting kits. I was told by the employee in fans/lighting that it would take a universal kit. I bought the lighting attachment that he recommended. When the electricians went to do the install they told me that the light kit I bought would not attach and to pick out a different one. I found out from calling the manufacturer that this fan will not accept any light kits. I had already paid the electricians $135 to install the fan so now I’m stuck with it. The fan works beautifully. It’s silent. But I think the employees need to be better informed about these things because I would’ve selected a different fan. And please don’t think that I should’ve bought a fan with lighting already attached. I was dealing with an insurance claim and had to replace the fan with a similar one that was already up there.

I bought 4 of these fans and paid an electrician to install them at my family vacation home and within a month one of the blades broke off. I can't even replace the blade because the metal broke in half. I paid an electrician to install them and now I'm out that money plus the money for the fan because I don't want to get electrocuted trying to take it down myself. I am very disappointed and frustrated! I'm not sure how to take it back without getting it down. Please help!

I have 4 Mariners all mounted on beachfront property with plenty of salt spray and corrosion. Three are 20 years old and are going on strong. One was recently mounted (5years ago) and has stoped working. From what I gathered it was the capacitor. Replacing them with an Oceania to see how that goes. I was disappointed with the last Mariner. Still looks new. Pity!

Easy to install and extremely durable fan on a covered deck in an outdoor coastal enviroment. The last Hunter fan I had of the Mariner model lasted 12 years. Would highly recommend this fan.

Well made, wired for light kit. Was able to remove light kits from old fans and install on these fans with two wires and two screws. Fans run smooth when turned on, no balancing require, on all three fans installed. Fans are very easy to install, it took me less than one hour per fan to remove old fan, install new bracket, and install new fan.

There weren’t many outdoor fan options with light kits included. I spoke with a guy in the fan department who told me the universal light kit should work. I bought it. Light kit did not work. Hunter states Mariner does not accept a light kit even though it had lighting wiring. I had to cut a hole and make it work. Frustrating.

Attractive modern look for the legacy of Hunter fans. Purchased two for our outside patio - delivered to the house within a week. Excellent mounting instructions. 1 1/2 hour for the first and inside an hour for the second - and this included switching to the shorter extension. The Mariner 52 moves a lot of air, operates in complete silence and is perfectly balanced. Easy Home Deport ordering process, speedy delivery and a great product easily mounted. Highly recommend.

Nice looking fan that turns into a rusty mess. For being called Mariner, this thing isn't up to the task of being outdoors. After 3 years it looks like it was pulled from out of the ocean. Don't get this if you live near the ocean or in a very humid environment. Performance wise it is very average, not much output, but it is quiet and was well balanced out of the box. Easy to assemble and install.

This fan works perfectly in our room and should help us to use less are conditioning this summer.

Fan received was as expected. Installation was straight forward. Works fine.

We purchased 2 of these Hunter fans for our family room and love them both. They are very quiet running and very attractive looking. we installed them with 12" drop pipes and they run very true on low and medium speed and with only a tiny bit of wobble on high.

We got this for a screened porch and love it.

I LOVE THIS FAN! This is my second one- the other is in my bedroom. It is great in the heat of summer because it sure does circulate the air. My previous kitchen fan was a Hunter and lasted many years but it did not move the air like this one. My old one was brushed nickel housing with 52 inch maple blades. It had a much lower cfm rating. The 6500 cfm's make a big difference. Cuts back on the A/C bill. Plus I like the white. The other looked so dark like an eye sore on my ceiling. This just blends in perfectly with the white ceiling. And it sure is QUIET! It was easy to put together and hang all by myself- I am a 60++ female, 5 feet tall and 115 pounds. Pay an electrician? No way! I bought the Hunter white Swirled Marble Builder Bowl light fixture. It looks so clean, simple and stylish. I put 60 watt (recommended) daylight LED bulbs and it is so bright. I highly recommend this fan and light fixture.

Fan was easy to install and is very quiet. Exactly what we wanted and needed.

My Hampton Bay outdoor patio fans had begun to look really bad, with peeling paint, and intermittent problems with speed control. Online I ordered two Hunter Mariner outdoor fans and two light kits and had them shipped to my home at no charge. What a great option. Pricing was very competitive with new Hampton Bay indoor/outdoor fans. Installation was simple. Biggest problem was the need to retrofit my 3" ceiling boxes with crossbars to accommodate the 4" Hunter hanger brackets. The fans look great, are high quality, with a lot of exterior weatherproof plastic parts and rubber gaskets that will eliminate rusting and peeling. The fans and lights work great on my existing separate switch/rheostat circuits. Should have gone with Hunter for the two outdoor fans when I installed the six indoor Hunter fans in 1983, all of which still look and work great.

Install was straight forward using install instructions provided.

I love the Hunter ceiling fan. It fits the area and looks great. Even the person I hired to put it in place complimented me on choosing such a beautiful addition to the outdoor area. I will always check with Home Depot before any place else for such home items. Delivery was also great.

Perfect size and price to replace our exiting outdoor fan over our deck! Easily installed.

nice porch fan the quality was there extra screws in case i lost one this has been my second brand the first was a little on the cheap quality side both did not put out the air my old fan did i guess the newer fans need to improve on that and by the way i bought 6 hunter fans for my porch

Not many products exceed my expectations, except for these fans. Bought three for underneath the outside patio in July 2018. In almost 5 years, not a single problem. Thank you Hunter for a great product at a great price!
