Not the product I was looking for , I need it a motion sensor switch for a pantry , that when you go in it will turn in the lights, but it didn’t work, you have to turn it on manually and then it goes of by it self.,

Please make sure you have enough opening so all the old and new wires can be nested behind the new switch. I

I bought 2 and one of them was defective.

Good product, easy to install.

Not working properly. Changed wires per the schematic and does not automatically come on. It will automatically come on immediately after it goes off ( up to 10seconds) but after that you have to Manually turn on.

Cheap, I took it out replaced with supply house switch too cheap this time

I installed it and set it up according to the directions, which were not real clear. The auto off function works flawlessly, but the auto-on only works for a short period of time after the switch is turned off. So it’s basically useless for it’s intended purpose, to automatically turn on the lights whenever someone walks into our closet.

It WILL NOT WORK without a ground wire. There is NO VISIBLE TEXT on the package mentioning this critical detail. It says "works with existing wiring", which is clearly not true. Many light switches are not grounded. The only way you find out that this requires a ground wire is to OPEN the package and read the installation instructions. Or have access to the Internet and read all the product details. Something this important should have been prominently on the package and the web site text, not buried in the fine print.

Didn't work correctly in a 3-way configuration. Yes, it was listed as 3-way capable and I wired it correctly. It worked if I only used this switch to turn on the lights but if I flipped the other switch (entering the other door at the far end of the long room), it didn't work. Tried switching the travelers per the instructions to no avail. It turned the lights off as designed, but I need it to work regardless of which door I enter (with the associated switch by the door). Returned it and went back to the regular 3-way switch.

Easy to install, works good, no problems yet. I found the instruction on how to program the different time delays before it turns off difficult to understand.

We love the maestro look and feel of the switch. It was pretty straightforward to install. I only wish the price as a bit cheaper.

I installed it in my Main Bathroom to control the fan that used to run way too much because people forget to turn it off. Now it turns off automatically after the room is vacant for 5 minutes which helps prevent venting hot air from the house in the winter and air conditioned air in the summer. Additionally, people would thoughtlessly turn on the fan along with the other lights by sweeping up on all 3 switches as they entered the bathroom. This switch has a push button on/off switch, so people only turn it on when they actually want to vent the room.

It's a vacancy sensor, so it turns the lights off when no motion is detected for the selected time delay. It does not turn them on when someone walks into the room. I put it in my 28 x28 ft. garage a few weeks ago, replacing a single switch that controlled 6 100W incandescent lights. The included instructions were fine and the installation was straightforward, at least for this simple use case. The switch has no problems detecting motion across the room, and handles the 600W load with no apparent problems. If you are still enough, long enough for the switch to turn the lights off on you, you can wave an arm or something right away and it will turn the lights back on. That's a nice feature as it lets you use a shorter delay than might work otherwise. I haven't had it long enough to rate durability, so gave it 4/5 on Quality. The Value score was harder to determine. The switch, plus a wall plate to match, will have to save me from about 540 hours of lights left on to pay for itself, but it's hard to estimate how often, and for how long each time, somebody will forget to turn these lights off.

Another excellent Lutron product!! After one of my employees hooked 4 of these up in a client's home, he informed me one was not working and that it was "bad out of the box". I have installed over 300 of their products and have never come across a bad unit. After double checking everything, I thought the perfect streak was over, but low and behold, the ground wire was disconnected in another switch box, so this unit technically did not have an earth ground (even though the ground wire was connected to this sensor). Once this was fixed, it worked perfectly. KEY POINT: These units MUST have a proper ground connected to function properly. If it appears it is not working properly, check the ground! If you EVER think you have a bad Lutron product out of the box, I would highly suggest double checking the installation. Lastly another reviewer complained that there was not enough large wire nuts included for their installation, but no manufacturer can supply everything you may need. We have all been in this situation and it stinks, but we must take responsibility to be informed and prepared for project that we are about to do. Not to mention, the packaging on this product is clear plastic (so you can see what is included and what is not :) Cheers

The sensor works great - it's actually sensitive enough to detect your presence unlike many other types of sensors I've tried. Installation was easy, even for a first-timer trying to install as a 3-pole configuration into a complex/crammed 3 switch box. The problem is that this kit doesn't come with enough of the large (yellow) wire nuts to safely install the whole system in a 3 pole configuration. You need all four of the large wire nuts to connect the sensor switch in its 3 pole configuration, leaving only the tiny blue nut to twist together three heavy gauge wires for the modified physical switch on the other end. Swapping the blue one for a yellow one is still not good because the blue one is too small to adequately protect the wires on the sensor switch from accidentally touching another wire in the box and shorting. It would have been nice if they hadn't skimped and just supplied you with five full sized wire nuts. Now I have to make another trip (considerably out of the way) to the nearest hardware store just to pick up the right sized wire nut.
