Accessory switch is required in a 4 way switch circuit. Unfortunately these are more money than the motion detector switch! Not happy about that. But it worked out so I am happy

Pricey but necessary.

**must be used in tandem with a Lutron Maestro dimmer. One Maestro dimmer matched with up to 8 Maestro "companion" dimmers on one circuit.** This is a must have if you are using a Maestro dimmer on a multi switch location setup. It is much easier to wire in than rewiring a mechanical on/off switch to operate properly on the same circuit. It also has the same features (on/off/max brightness/last used brightness/countdown to off) as the Maestro dimmer. The only feature missing are the LEDs that indicate the brightness level on the switch. I would definitely use again!!!

After purchasing per Lutron support, I called back into Lutron support. This time, they said it isn't what I need. I have to do an RF solution that costs $300 or more with rf battery powered sensor and then primary and slave switches that talk with the Rf sensor.

Used this with the main Maestro switch. Apparently there are two different Companion switches, one that allows the lights to be programmed from anywhere and this one, which is only capable of on, off or full on. Regardless, it was easy to install and works as I need it to. The original house wiring was not well done and wires were not marked. With just a little bit of thinking and reasoning through the diagrams, I was able to put the companions in the correct location and get everything working properly. And not get electrocuted nor burn the house down. It was pretty simple.

This is a requirement for 3 and 4 way switches. AND COMPLETELY rediculous that it is not carried in the store???? What were they thinking, that no one has 3 and 4 way lights? Who is the Home Depot buyers for the electrical department? Store staff had no clue about this part as well. Funny, I bumped into a another customer in the aisle and he couldn't figure out why his switches wouldn't work either. He offered me lunch after I told him about the Lutron website showing the requirements. He was super frustrated. As well--- the Home Depot website purchase was a complete letdown---as they did not fulfill the delivery date. 2 weeks over due? Had to pay my electrician to come back--- 1. After figuring out we needed this additional part. 2. Had to reschedule him again because the product didn't ship. 3. For final install when it DID ARRIVE. Good product, terrible experience from Home Depot.

It was easy to install and the direction was accurate.

I was doing a bathroom remodel and needed to install a 3-way vacancy sensor (Lutron VSP5xx). I used this companion switch for the opposite end because the manual lighted 3-way switch that it replaced didn't work with the vacancy sensor. I spoke to Lutron customer support and they quickly and patiently walked me through the installation process. Mainly because of that, I would recommend Lutron.

The companion switches have worked perfectly. I had some challenges installing them along with the main motion sensor switch. However, Lutron has the best customer service of any company with which I have dealt. I called their number, spoke to someone in tech support who walked me through the process, and I soon had the switches working. I strongly recommend buying anything that is a Lutron product.

The switches (2) are working great along with the motion sensor switch I installed. Also, Lutron was a great help when I had a technical question about the installation.

It matches my other Maestro switches and dimmers. Looks great and works well. I only wish that it also had an indicator light for locating at night and status of the light (on/off). Other than that, it's great!

Easy to wire and setup. Looks great and works better. Set up a 4 way with little effort. Used their website for instructions and they are well worth looking up and using for a person who’s done this before or not I would say. Clearly stated.
