Bought the display model from the store. Saw how they had it mounted. Installed it following the installation instructions. key pad was scratched, top of frame slightly bumped in, door not aligned. Called LG had service come out 6x's in 3 months. 1st-to assess- & I stated moisture came out of top vent grille when warming foods not during cook top use & was damaging cherry wood cabinet finish, 2nd replaced door & front top panel-ordered control panel & said that should fix the door alignment & that microwave was mounted 1/4" too low needed to be flush with the top cabinet. took microwave down remounted according to service guy , 3rd service call: control panel was damaged needed to reorder. Still had moisture coming out when heating/using the microwave. 4th service call: replaced control panel, two days later realized bottom lights no longer worked, 5th service call: new service co came out to assess & yes faulty control panel need to re-order, still have moisture during heating -thought the vent grille was blocked from top cabinet. our Cabinets are 14" deep microwave sticks out 16" from back of wall. Nowhere in the "Installation Instructions" does it state the maximum depth of the cabinet. Pg 4 shows cabinet opening width to be 30" & a 30" min clearance from bottom of cabinet to cooking surface or countertop before installation. It shows a drawing of a cabinet depth but failed to write a dimension!!!!. Last service call #6 came out to fix faulty control panel. all is working but still wet cabinet. Several hours of service calls & waiting for the time window 8-noon, or noon-4:00, hours of phone calls to LG all the way up to "Executive Services" for them to tell me it was an installation issue not that the microwave wasn't functioning correctly. I feel if the "Installation Instruction Manual " stated not to use in cabinets deeper than 13" none of this would be written about. On my way to return microwave to Home Depot & not to purchase another LG top vent grille microwave for this home. Note: not many microwaves out there have a front facing vent grille. Hope this saves someone time & frustration. LG was good about getting the service guys out to the home, feel that the first service guy should have said something right away, or LG knowing that if a cabinet is deeper than 13" this style microwave isn't recommended.

The actual product and installation was as expected; however we are very disappointed that the installers did not address the scratch above the door. Please let us know how to proceed with obtaining a new product that does not have a scratch.

Overall, this is a great microwave. It has some really nice features for a family on the go, like the Kids Meal for Mac & Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, and Hotdogs. I wish the screen was bigger, as it's hard to read the scrolling words...they seem to be at the bottom of the screen, which blocks the lower half of the letters. This may in part be due to the height of the installation, but this was not an issue with previous microwave. It would also be nice if the keypad was lit at night. Hard to turn on the Light , when the button is not lit. Also, the instruction booklet is inadequate in explaining all the functions, and cooking capability. Wish there was a cookbook.

We were happy with the LG microwave for the first 5 days - then problems with the touchpad developed. Also a squeaking with the turntable started.

Microwave is powerful when using the venting system. Great quality and easy to use.

Great look easy to operate. This was also easy to install not to mention the stainless steel look is not covered up with black coloring. (Like some models)

I am very impressed with this microwave. Along with the other LG appliances (Fridge, Electric Range, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer), my house is very stylish. It puts a smile on my face seeing the kitchen appliances uniform and all stainless steel. As silly as it sounds, it brightens my day! This device is aesthetically pleasing and does its job very nicely. Highly recommended!

This is a basic microwave. It looks very fine and works. That was all I really wanted. The button pad and selections it offers could be better. I don't care about special buttons for things like mac & cheese, hotdog, chicken nuggets. I would have preferred a "1-minute" or "2-minute", etc. buttons. It has more odd preferences when you hit the defrost button. I am figuring out how to by pass these and just use my own timing. The light undeneath over the stove is dim. I may be able to fix that when the bulbs are replaced. I bought this mainly because I wanted it to match my other LG appliances.

We are so pleased with this microwave. Very attractive in the kitchen. There are so many 'tricks' and special custom functions we haven't learned yet (need to read more of the manual) but those we do know of are very nice. The "soften" and "melt" functions are handy. It's also very quiet; our refrigerator running is louder than this micro.

We had this microwave for 6 years when it quit. Just my husband and I at home. I can't image if we had a bigger family that it wouldn't even have lasted that long. Handle had broke year before-we had managed to fix that. Not sure if I'd trust LG again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this unit for 4 years, and of course it quit working over the Thanksgiving holiday.Called 2 repair places and both said it was too expensive to fix. Magnetron and rotating turntable just stopped. So unhappy and will not buy another LG product. Paying as much as we did, 4 years is totally unacceptable!!! DO NOY BUY!!!!!

I can't believe we are going to do a second install on this microwave (in different kitchen). The 1st time we installed it, we agreed, "Never do that again!" Unfortunately the microwave stopped heating after very little use. Out of warranty but the cost of the magnetron (part only) was covered. Failure of magnetron and diode.

Microwave went dead after 18 months. Have the extended warranty and the service is awful. Completely getting the run around between Home Depot, warranty holder and service provider. Almost a month and still the microwave is not fixed. Not only will this be my last LG purchase, but may be my last appliance purchase from Home depot. Looking to replace other appliances and glad I'm finding out about the defect/issues with the LG microwave prior to making my large purchases.

So far I find our new over the range microwave easy to use and quiet. Installation by Home Depot went off without a hitch. I give it 4 stars only because I have had it just 2 weeks and haven't really put it to the test yet but so far everything is positive.

Its true after only a year the microwave has given out. I didn't get the warranty on it so now i need the microwave repaired. When I call LG & told them my microwave was out they said " its the magnetron" .The fact that i wasn't ask for a model number or type of microwave makes me thing that LG is not the most reliable brand out there.

Shortly after the 1 year standard warranty was up, the until failed to heat. Looks like others have had the same problem. I will be staying away from LG for any appliances in the future.

Very nice unit. In buying a replacement be certain to check the mounting screws to guarantee that it will fit. Some units have screws to close to center and vent will block mounting. This unit has mounting near edges which makes it easier to fit.

We're liking this microwave a lot, but no matter what speed the fan is set to, it's really loud. The soft touch buttons are nice and it has a solid feeling that we didn't get with the old one. All said were happy with it.

Microwave quit after 6 weeks. We have had warranty service twice now (it won't heat) and unit is 6 months old. The light bulb keeps burning out as well. LG customer service has been unreliable as they say they will call back and don't. The process of getting warranty work done is very time consuming and frustrating, there for I will never buy another LG appliance again. We purchased all new LG appliances (French door frig, range, dishwasher and microwave so spent a lot of money. I'm still in disbelief that they won't give us a new microwave. They've spent more money paying a technician to come than it would have cost them just to give us a new unit. In the meantime every time I go to use my NEW microwave I pray that it will work!

Microwave is so much better than my old Whirlpool. The outside is beautifully designed and easy to clean. The inside is very spacious and also easy to clean. While the exterior grill on the old Whirlpool broke off after 2 years, this grill design seems far more durable.

I wish I would have listened to many of the reviews on your website and not purchased an LG microwave. After only 1 year and 8 month my unit also just stopped broke down. It won't heat anything. Everything else works (Van, light, turntable, timer etc). This is ridiculous! I owned 3 microwaves before this one and all of them worked until I decided after many, many, many years to upgrade to a new one with extra features. One good advice I learned from repairman and appliance sales people is: LG and Samsung might be good in electronics but when it comes to kitchen appliances stick with reliable proven quality products from companies like Fridgedaire, Maytag, Kenmore and GE.

I purchased this model LG as it replaced an older model. It took 7 weeks to receive as it was a special order in the store. Installation fit the old temp plate perfectly. After using this microwave for 3 days I find that it is excessively loud. It is built so much cheaper then the previous LG model I owned. No very happy about this microwave.

Similar to other reviews, my LG microwave just stopped working after about 2 years. No power to the oven, fan, light, or clock. Just completely dead even though it has power at the outlet. Seems to be a pattern here. Not worth a service call to fix a bad unit. I will buy Whirlpool. I thought the Korean firms and LG especially were masters of microwaves. Meanwhile in my primary house the GE unit which gets much more use is doing just fine after 6 years.

The unit is very nice looking and has many options for cooking, warming and defrosting. The programs installed pretty much take the guess work out of the timing. I am very much satisfied and my guests have remarked, the LG unit would be their next microwave purchased in the very near future. The price, installation, appeal and ease of useage has been far more than expected. Very satisfied!!!!!

After 35 years of buying microwaves of all sizes and makes, this the first LG I have purchased. It is also the first and ONLY one that just simply stopped working. After just 3 years it is completely dead! A reboot of circuit breaker did nothing. All other appliances are working fine. Very disPpointing considering that a simple house call is $100 before parts and labor. Buyer beware.

The microwave worked wonderfully for 2 years and we loved it, then just stopped heating one day. The repairman was unable to order replacement parts because they are not being made for this model anymore! He was also unable to find suitably safe substitution parts, so our only option is to buy a brand-new microwave. The next one will NOT be an LG (which Consumer Reports has rated very high in numbers of repairs).

I have been pleased with this microwave oven. I put in my new home which is a former church in built in 1910. I like the oven very much with one exception. I have been unable to get the oven to function on a time delay as I am accustomed to with another microwave. I mostly use a microwave to cook and I rarely use a range. And I mean 'cook' not warm. It serves my purposes well, especially since it has a shelf to double up on simultaneous cooking.

I bough all LG products for my kitchen. Stove, range hood, and fridge dishwasher. Within a 2 year period all of the products had problems. Stove--burner went out, fridge -- ice maker broke, leaks water from handle and stopped cooling. Range hood -- stopped heating, needed to replace circuit boar (no longer made) and dishwasher-- doesnt clean well, leaks from handle and bottom, digital problems and start to rust.
