My flashlight lens melted, the case is dented and scratched everywhere, I have dropped from 35 feet to concrete and dropped numerous other times. Completely beaten to where it should not work and looks like it does not work, but still works perfectly!!!!

Great product! Factory service on an issue with an earlier Maglite was outstanding.

I have 4 of these, 2 are over 7 years old, and they are excellent. 200 lumens is too bright to read by and too bright to look for things under your car seat, but very good to walk with and 6.75 hours of battery life. The low setting is great for close work (50 lumens and 25 hours of battery life). I have one with lithium batteries in it (they don't leak and they work great in cold weather) which lives in my glove compartment. I'm not a huge fan of plastic lenses because they scratch, so I put hardened glass lenses in mine. It's easy to do. Just unscrew the head, grab the rear of the reflector in a 6 o'clock/12 o'clock hold, and turn the reflector counterclockwise while pulling lightly on the pliers to make sure the reflector follows the threads. If you somehow screw it up, new heads in every color are available from Maglite for $7.50 (comes with aluminum head, lens and reflector). If you want to put rubber grips on, buy a pool cue hand grip from your favorite auction site in any color you want. They are a somewhat snug fit on the XL50, and a real tight fit on a D cell Maglite. Hope this helps. While I'm here, I may as well add that the Maglite 3D LED flashlight is an excellent household flashlight. It puts out 168 lumens for 80 hours. It's model ST3D and costs less than this one. It's big, which is the price you pay for bright light that lasts for days.

I want to like this, but it isn't any good if the batteries go dead. The switch is so exposed and the spring pressure is so light that the flashlight regularly turns on when I carry it in my pocket.

Don’t know. This is a Christmas gift. The one I own is excellent. Hope the one I gave is as good. Please never again ask me for a review since you are so insistent about a response.

Google "mag lite battery stuck" before you purchase. Light works great until you need new batteries, then you won't be able to get the old ones out. Unreliable when I needed it most.

Bought this smaller more compact Mag Lite to try an experiment out on a AR15 Rifle since I already had the mounts and a place to mount the flash light as a option, it works great and is very stable and did not loosen with recoils The flash light is very bright and I like the selectible color changing discs that come extra with it along with the the rubber cap to hold them. I also like the variable lighting and strobe feature.

Quit after 6 months. Maglite would fix it for free if I pay shipping both ways. No thanks, I'll just buy a different brand. Won't buy another Maglite.

I've had mine for about 3 years now. It's such a durable and super bright light. I purchased it from Home Depot when it was $60.00 I need to buy a backup one at this price.

super bright little flashlight. Used it for hunting and it was almost as bright as my cordless spotlight. Friends could not believe how bright this small flashlight is.

Can't believe the beam this little light throws out. On the dim setting it's brighter than any regular flashlight. I rated the Quality "Good" instead of "Excellent". The batteries that came with one of the two lights I purchased had dead batteries.

the light is small but very bright, i wished they made one even more powerful and add a mouth piece so i can hold it in my mouth when needed

this little flashlight is VERY bright, BUT I have to give it a low rating only because ive had the switch go bad on two different flashlights after dropping the light from VERY LOW heights. We're talking like 1-2 feet drops. So it seems like whatever switch they are using is very fragile. or maybe its something else inside the flashlight that is breaking, i dont know. Aside from that, This little flashlight is amazingly bright. i just wish it was more durable.

At less than half the cost of the tactical flashlight I used on patrol, the XL50 is similar in function which I find useful. I carry it alongside my Leatherman multi-tool. At only $35 bucks, I would rather lose this one than my tactical light. And, wow, the high beam? Awesome for its size. It does eat up batteries but I can live with that. Cost effective, compact, tough and very bright main beam – get one.

Wow, stunningly bright! This thing throws off more light than my Mag 6 D-Cell light. Bright solid straight beam, just incredible for something this fits in your palm. The package on the website say's it's 104 lumens. I picked mine up at the local store and the package say's 139 lumens. I suspect the picture on the website is an old picture. I love this light, so much so that I think I would like to have the XL-200. If they carried that one, I would have purchased that one. Oh well, I still highly recommend this product.

I bought this flashlight to keep on my motorcycle for use at night but I don't think I want to limit it to only that use. This flashlight is extremely bright and very compact. I can't belive you can get the amount of light out of something so small. I'll have to buy another one or two to use in the car and in the house. It's a little pricey but what a punch it has. AMAZING!

This is a super bright flashlight and I like the strobe feature for emergency/signaling situations. My only gripe is that it eats up batteries so quickly, I work 10 hour days up in a drop-ceiling and use the flashlight for a solid 6 hours a day. I replace the 3 AAA batteries daily.

Really great flashlight. I take this flashllifght jogging with me everytime. Its small enough to fit right it the palm of my hand and bright enough to light up a 100 feet in front of me. I highly recommend this flashlight to anyone. The LED bulbs in this are very well built. This flashlight jas been dropped from 15+ feet and not a scratch. I was shocked to not find it in a 100 pieces. MADE IN THE USA!!!

Great flashlight. I have used this from biking to just walking around outside and it will light up any place you need. Super bright and great with the 3 modes. Only problems i have had is the beam adjustment, when you turn it the beam just gets darker does not change it from spot to flood like it says. And i have dropped it a few times. Doesent scratch but it takes huge dents out of the metal casing. Otherwords it is a great flashlight.

I am Service Tech.that depends on a good quality flashlight. The high/low switch is great when high is to bright and battery power can be saved. I have had 2 of the xl50 mag lights, both have died from dropping them. I hope to see a holster come in the future and a better shock resistance light to with it.

Great flashlight with a powerful beam. only drawback is slippery in hand. I added an adhesive grip and it's fine now. I use it in my security work with great advantage. its small and light and fits into my pocket with ease. Highly recommend this for law enforcement work..!!

I've tried all the rest and nothing compares to the Mag-Lite XL-50. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, yet more powerful than my larger 3D cell Mag-Lite. Three on modes: High, Low and Strobe. High is almost sometimes too high, but since when has that been a problem? Low is very good and saves power. Strobe for when you need it. Two wishes: I wish it came with a case that I could clip on my belt. There's probably one available. And I wish it had provisions for a wrist lanyard. Excellent quality. Excellent value. Don't waste your time or money on the others. Makes a great gift, too. Comes in Black, Blue and Red.

As a bouncer in a low lit night club, this came in very handy. With the high setting I can light up a whole area to see whats going on, and with the low setting I could watch where I was going or look for empty bottles without blinding people. The strobe also comes in handy to signal to other bouncers that I could use a hand. It's also small enough to slip into my pocket quickly for when I need both of my hands.

I needed a new flashlight for evening walks with our dog around the neighborhood. This MagLite easily fits into my pocket, and it can be used at either full brightness power, 25% power, or strobe flash mode. The 104 lumens of brightness is very nice and will help us to avoid skunks or anything else one may encounter when walking the dog at night. Best of all, it is made in the U.S.A.

Thanks to another Southern California Edison power outage, we had a chance to put the new Maglights into service. Really powerful and compact.
