Item was already assembled upon purchase. However, there was a screw missing for mounting purposes, and the paperwork that came with the order stated that my purchase was non-returnable, so I bought a screw to mount it instead....though I should NOT have bought one at the fault of the manufacturer.

Easy to install and use.

Excellent product

Product appears strong and sturdy, looks nice. Easy to program but difficult to see the arrows which show which numbers were selected for the code. (Arrows are same colored so I could not see when they were rotated 180 degrees to select a number for the code. There was momentary panic when I wasn't sure which code I changed to while testing the box. I had to take box into the sun to see arrow indicating direction.) Directions are not as clear and detailed as they need to be. I tested the box with several codes and was unable to "break" a 4-number code easily which leads me to believe an intruder standing on the front porch to gain unlawful access to the home would have difficulty figuring out the code. Have not installed box yet so don't know how it will hold up in actual use. For better security, 2" or longer screws should be furnished instead of 1" screws.

A compact good quality product that can be mounted out of the way and that blends in with my white trim color. Downside (and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars) is that there are only 1024 possible combinations with this lock. The numbers can be entered in any order. Although it would take someone a while to go through all of the combinations, it wouldn't be impossible for a desperate thief in a secluded location.

I just needed a way for short term renters to enter our beach house. It works fine. I was a little concerned when I determined that when setting a code, say "5-3-7-2" for example, the box can be opened using these numbers in any order, like "2-3-5-7". I suppose it's ok but I think it lessens the security since this reduces the number of possible combinations... doesn't it? Just be aware of that.
