Due to design of this drain it's almost impossible to install the drain. When you push assembly in - the rubber gasket pops up and out from 2 inch pipe. It's too tight and no way you can prevent it. If the metal lip instead of the under will be at the top of the gasket it will help to push gasket down on the pipe to seal connection. See the pic.

Koehler makes a quality product. The fit and finish are just what I expected.

A very expensive drain but the quality is visible for the money. Fits perfect with other Kohler products.

The Drain was easy to install , instructions were OK just needed one or two things I called to confirm. very heavy and solid construction. BUT this was installed in a Kohler Shower Pan,, DO NOT BUY the shower pan,, the instructions are very bad and missleading. the quality is poor, I.E. the front apron is supposed to be flat, instead it has a "bulge" about 3/8 of a inch at center, SO if you install on level backer board the pan will NOT sit flat but rocks,, had to send it back 7 day delay, and the next one had a "bulge" but they said it was in "SPEC". Had to cut a grove in the back board to make it fit level.

The drain materials were very high quality and fit the Kohler shower pan perfectly. Cost is higher than competition, but I much prefer the brass and stainless steel materials for long, trouble free life.

Easy to install once you know the location and tie in points shipment came quick we had it in and ready for service inside of an hour. Installed it on a 9194 cast iron shower base.

This drain is impossible to install, and if you are lucky and install it then when the time comes to replace the old gasket you will get stacked. Why didn’t they make it with compression nut, what a shame

Fitting was incorrect for our shower. Returned it and got another.

Very nice drain, except installation was not good at all. Koehler uses an O-ring to secure water tight seal around drain and then gobs of sealant. Im used to the o-ring and then spanner nut to secure seal. The drain is very functional but what happens when that o-ring deteriates over time? Trying to fit oring over pipe was daunting, had to bevel edge of oring to get it in the hole....lol! I ould give it 5 stars for looks and functionality but Im giving it 3 stars due to poor design!!

Have not finished the tile surround yet so even though it is installed haven’t used it yet. The drain arrived in a timely manner, in good condition and installed perfectly.

Item was missing parts and could not be installed. For the brand and price I expected more quality. Returned it and bout a better one for $15, not $75.
