Great price for a tremendous product!
I needed to replace a toilet seat on a older toilet. I knew I didn't want to spend too much on this product, but still wanted functionality and comfort. The current seat would often slam so I had a close close toilet seat and lid in mind. This delivered that exact want. Very easy to install!

Stylish and easy-to-install toilet seat
We recently replaced the toilet seat for a Kohler one-piece toilet in color biscuit. The Kohler web site offered more options for in-stock, soft-close, elongated seats in biscuit color than the local big-box DIY stores. The online selection and ordering were easy and the seat was delivered promptly. The new seat was a perfect fit and color match, and was
easily installed. We hope to get many years of reliable operation of this soft-close seat.

Seat is fine, mounting hardware poorly designed
Have Kohler fixtures in very bathroom in the house. Been a mechanic and performed hundreds of home repairs. Never saw a piece of attachment hardware, (ie nylon split nut) so poorly designed. In theory it should work. I guess nobody asked or listened to the customers. After claiming warranty and Kohler sending a new and improved replacement kit of hardware, the new hardward lasted a month before loosening and causing the seat to be unsecure again. Had to by another seat for a second toilet. This time American Standard. Used the old seat hardware (not Kohler) to finally fix Kohler's hardware problem. No split nuts this time. Works great.

Seat Slopes Inward
I hoped the more expensive seat would be sturdier and more comfortable but I was wrong. The rim of the seat slopes inward which provided less seat support for my legs and glutes (my butt). Since I like to take my time on the john, this quickly became uncomfortable. I quickly bought a different (and more solid) seat and stuck the Rutledge in the attic where it will languish in obscurity.

Slips off the sides of my Koehler elongated toilet
This seat is being sanitized and given to a charity for possible repurpose. Even though I have a Kohler elongated toilet, this seat slips off the side and no amount of adjustment cures the problem. IMO, cheaply made, very unstable.

JB60, my name is Jessica with Kohler Co. I am sorry you are not satisfied with your Rutledge toilet seat and it is moving. The installation of this toilet seat’s Quick Install hardware must be followed carefully to ensure it is properly tightened. Install the seat by inserting the black mounting nuts and then the bolts. Set the seat in place and then push the cone-shaped nut over the bolt and press it into the hole from the underside. Hold the nut in place and use a screwdriver from the top to tighten the bolt. Strong and works great.

The seat was packed in such a way that the lid marked the seat right where the plastic bumpers are located. Interesting that the seat has bumpers on the part that touches the porcelain and it has rubber guards but the lid does not. It has hard plastic bumpers that touch the plastic seat and obviously something heavy was on top of the box, therefore marred the seat. Also, someone could sit on the closed lid and then it would also mark the seat. Bad design.

It is a great toilet seat except for one gotcha. The base of the hinge is separate from the rest of the assembly (white plastic piece). If it gets lost in the packing or accidentally discarded, the seat is useless. Other than that it is a solid design, with nice anti slip bumpers.
