Nice toilet EXCEPT the mounting bolts for the seat get jammed due to the cheap inaccessible anchors used. When you attempt to change or remove the seat for cleaning you are in a real issue when the anchor just spins in the recessed hole. The anchor is not accessible. That problem has been well documented across the net and with the manufacturer so why Kohler has failed to fix that issue speaks poorly. 10 cents more on better anchors by Kohler would prevent the problem but they sell an expensive repair kit instead. That is a repair kit once you figure out a way to pry their cheap aluminum failed anchor from the toilet. Ended up chipping our toilet forcing the anchor out of the recess. Not pleased with Kohler.

Robert, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am very sorry to hear of this. All one piece toilets have seats installed in the same manor with the anchor system. There is an anchor kit that can be used to help remove the old seat and help to install a new one. K-84999 comes with the tools for the removal and installation of the toilet seat as well as new anchors. The following link shows how to use the anchor kit: https://goo.gl/SXeA4G. If you have further questions or need additional assistance, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We're glad to help! - Jessica P. KOHLER Customer Service.

Flushes very well at 1.6 gal. fit Very well under existing counter cause it's a very small unit.
Received with a missing important part. My plumber intalled a replacement flush kit just to make it work. After that everything worked great. This is a small bowl. Small seat and low to the floor. Just what I needed. This is a very heavy well constructed toilet. One small rubber white fill tube was missing so the bowl would not fill but my plumber replaced the flush mechanism with one he had on his truck (Thank Goodness).

Hi Gaucho, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am truly sorry to hear the flapper on your Rialto toilet is leaking, even after replacement. We recommend performing a water test to narrow down the exact location of your tanks leak. You can find more details on this test by visiting https://shorturl.at/hFP14. I apologize for the trouble you have had with the toilet seats hardware. Here is a video showing how to use the 84999 anchor kit to remove and reinstall new hardware: https://youtu.be/mwi3pTvqc6U. Please email our team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com for further assistance. Thank you. -Sarah S. Kohler Customer Service

I purchased 3 Rialto toilets when I renovated my house 15 years ago and they have been the best toilets I've ever had. I love everything about them...the style, the shape, the clean lines. Overall, I really love this toilet. Here are some reasons why: 1. Very quiet flushing mechanism. Even after 15 years I continue to be impressed with the quietness of this toilet. 2. Low GPF and zero clogs. I've never had any problems with clogging, ever. 3. Solid construction, no leaking. My previous toilets were all 2-piece toilets and had problems leaking where the tank and the seat came together. The main reason I purchased the Rialto was because I wanted a 1-piece toilet so I'm happy to report no leaking whatsoever with this toilet. 4. Easy to clean (interior/exterior). The interior of this toilet is like any other so no difference in cleaning there. However, the exterior of this toilet is so much easier to clean than a 2-piece toilet since there are no seams/cracks between the tank and the seat. This is a perk that I wasn't considering when I bought them, but have been thankful for every time I've cleaned them over the past 15 years. 5. Comfort. The height of this toilet has been perfect for me and my family. Also, I think the fact that the toilet is 1-piece gives it a sturdiness that a 2-piece toilet just doesn't have. It's just a solidly, comfortable fixture. Throughout the years, our houseguests have often complimented us on our toilets. How often does that happen?! The only negative for this toilet for me was the price. At the time, I remember thinking it was an expensive purchase. In hindsight, it was absolutely worth it. They've been completely maintenance-free for the past 15 years. I literally haven't had to replace one single part. I highly recommend!!!

        Handsome Toilet...as Toilets Go
This is a good looking toilet and although not as efficient as others, was purchased at a good price. The first one came in broken, and it was a scramble on the phone to get HD to figure out how to get another one to us.

Horrific product. DO NOT PURCHASE. You will thank me!
In 2006 our baths were remodeled & this product was installed along w/2 Toto Drakes(both superlative products). Due to the low height of the tank the designer recommended it for our child's bath. I had read the Rialto reviews & had serious reservation however the designer assured me her clients were pleased w/the toilet. Sadly I permitted its installation-something i seriously regret! Unlike the 2 Totos, which have NEVER clogged, I have repeatedly had to ;unclog my child's toilet, & not because of excessive use of paper. I have also used it & had it plug up on me! The size of the trap is simply too small, clogs frequently, & toilet has weak flushing power. I've told my child to go potty, flush then wipe & flush again. Absurd! My mother in law managed to plug, flush again, & overflow it. Additionally the flapper design is inferior. The toilet has began leaking water-unlike the 2 Toto Drakes which still have the original flappers from'06, & as others have mentioned, replace flappers/parts even from Kohler do NOT stop leakage resulting in wasted water & higher water bills. Finally the bowl has less use the the 2 Drakes yet becomes filthly & requires more frequent scrubbing. It s/b noted that the Drakes do not have Sanigloss, something I wish I had order, just the standard finish. After 10yrs I've sworn never to purchase Kohler & am going to order a Toto replacement & donate this toilet to charity. The Rialto is an inferior, NOT recomended, product.

Hello, My name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am sorry to read you have had problems with your Rialto toilet. We are very concerned the toilet is not functioning normally. We would like to suggest checking a few things on your toilet. We recommend checking the flapper chain inside the tank. The chain connecting to the trip lever should be taut. If there is any slack, it should be tightened to remove the slack. The water level can also be checked. The water level in the tank should be at the water line which is marked on the inside back wall of the tank or on the flush valve. The refill tube can be checked as well. It should be connected at both ends connecting the fill valve to the center of the flush valve. If either end is disconnected, it should be pushed back into place. If you are still having problems, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We would like to gather more information to determine why you are having an issue clearing the bowl after a flush. Sincerely, Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service

clogs easily, doesn't flush well, lasts only about 10 years
we have this toilet in 3 of our bathrooms. we chose it because of its sleek look and smaller size. it clogs very easily and does not have a strong flush. we literally have to plunge it a few times a week. when we go away on vacation and use american standard toilets, we never have any issues! we've had them for about 10 years and they are all starting to malfunction. we will be replacing them with american standard. never buying kohler again.

          Maintenance Nightmare
I have three of these in a home I just moved into. They all had the same flushing problem, flapper would not fall, when I bought the house. I have fixed this problem before, in other toilets, by replacing the flapper. I was unable to find replacement flappers for this toilet at my local Home Depot so I went to Kohler's website to find the proper part. The part had been discontinued and replaced with a different part. When I tried to install the new flapper it did not go on like the old one. I had to Kohler to get directions to install it. This did not fix the problem. I determined that it was an issue with the flush levers. I bought universal replacements for them only to find out they don't fit. I had to special order these from Home Depot at about three times the price of most levers. Then on of the fill valves stopped shutting off. When I took it into Home Depot the plumbing guy just laughed and said I can only get that from Kohler. I was able to find it on Amazon for less than Kohler, but it was still more than three times the price of most fill valves.

          small space toilet
Have a very small powder room. Researched toilets extensively. There are many out there that are great for a regular sized bathroom. After trying multiple toilets in the space this one fit great. Looks great in the space (small room, small toilet). Wished this was the first one we tried. Would definitely purchase again.

don't do it! flushes poorly, expensive parts, hard to fix
this thing is terrible - you always have to flush twice, even just liquids. the handle comes loose, the flapper is a Kohler-only part, 3x normal cost, the flush valve is an odd, twist-in thing that people can't figure out how to install. Mine is leaking and I'm concerned whether I can fix it - I might just have to replace the whole thing.

            Piece of DoDo-pun intended
Good luck to you people who reviewed it after only 6 months of use. Just you wait until day 366 when the warranty goes out. See what you think then. Oh, it is cute, but it is a terrible toilet. I have also replaced the flapper 3 times and it runs and runs and clogs up. You have to flush it 3 times to clear it. Kohler doesn't even know which flapper it uses. The parts in these Rialto's are different in all of them. The flapper the inside diagram says to get doesn't fit this toilet. I have paid and paid and paid the plumber to come out and work on it, parts, not to mention the water bill is high because of it running and having to be flushed 3 or 4 times each time it is used. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TERRIBLE TOILET. Sheez! and look at the price!!!!

              Piece of junk
Nice looking, compact size, but that is the only thing going for it. This toilet is a piece of junk. It clogs regularly. We always have to (awkwardly) advise guests to flush twice, so that all the paper doesn't go in at one time. It also has a recurring problem with running continuously. Even the plumber has trouble getting it adjusted properly. Inner mechanisms need frequent replacement. We have two of these toilets, and our latest problem has brought us to the decision to replace both of them this week with Totos. The seat on one of them cracked, but after several hours of working on it, we are unable to remove the old seat. There is no access to the underside of the bolts, and they are rusted in place. We will need to buy a small hacksaw to saw through them, then hope we can dislodge the pieces remaining inside. Another option would be to buy a removal kit sold by Kohler for $47, although reviewers say it doesn't work. The plumber says we will need to order new anchors from Kohler, also. We've just decided to get rid of both of them, because they've been nothing but trouble. It's an expensive but necessary decision. Our advice: Avoid Kohler toilets!

              Cute, but a headache
I really splurged buying this toilet for its great looks, but I'm really disappointed. It does have a weak flush, which means it is getting clogged all the time. Now, it continually "runs". I have replaced the flapper twice, but sooner or later the problem comes back. I do plan on replacing it when I do some remodeling to my bathroom. It just isn't that "cute" for the problems.

This toilet is an efficient upgrade from the same model from the 1980's that I replaced. It is great for small spaces.
The only complaint I have is the for this price toilet, it would be really nice to have a more sturdy seat, one that doesn't bend when you sit on it! I did a lot of searching and this is the shallowest depth toilet good for a small bath. I did not pay attention to the handle location and would have preferred it on the right.

why is the rating so high? BAD toilet; clogs all the time!
I bought this toilet because of the looks and high reviews! Please don't buy. it clogs every time we have a family gathering. The flushing power is too weak. And last night my son flushed and it the water overflowed! That was the last straw! Although beautiful, parts are expensive and custom. I will never purchase this type of toilet another. The trap size is small 2", the inside of the tank is not glazed so it leaves water marks. It does not come with quiet and auto closing seats and you can not purchase aftermarket self-closing seats as it will not fit (not standard). I purchased for $400 + and I wasted my money. Now I'm looking for another toilet. So for your information 1.6 GPF did not help with clogging. I'm not sure if the 2" trap size affected the clogging, but I'm going to look for a bigger want and better flushing technology. After I installed it, the flushing strength was weak, but I took it as a quieter flushing, don't be fool like I was...NEVER ever buy. Kohler disappointed me. I will buy the ugly American Standard Champion toilet. Good side, it's much, much cheaper!

Kohler's quality control has serious issues
product met need of maximizing small space, it is of good quality except for the fact there was a giant mar in the glaze on the top of the tank lid. which is why I gave it one star for quality. the plumbing and and integrity of the product as a toilet is five star. called Kohler and new lid is on the way. this is the third quality control failure on two Kohler products purchased for bathroom remodel. shower walls needed replacing and someone can't count to two as they shipped only one wall jamb for the glass shower doors and wall enclosure. their products are designed well and when right of good quality doesn't help the fact I'm a month now waiting for replacement parts. good thing I'm not a contractor working for a client.

The Flush is not very strong, relative to our other Kohler's.
Nice look, easy install, but less than average flush action. We had just purchased a similar Kohler direct from Kohler to replace a power flush which does a great job. The only reason my wife wants to keep it is that she does not want another pressure flush system since we had one blow up.
