I was looking for a large band saw that I could use for both metal and wood for my home shop. This saw was just what I wanted, it handles both and is built fairly robust. You have to manually move the belt and shift the gearbox to change blade speeds, but for a home shop that is no big deal. The only problem I had was someone, at the store I believe, decided it was a good idea to lay it on its side. I didn't give much thought when I seen it laying there until I got home and stood the crate up to open it and discovered the side that it was laid on was covered in heavy oil, a real pain to clean up. Once I got it cleaned up and topped off with oil, I then took the time to do the proper setup. I've used it several times and love it, and its built heavy enough that it should last a long time with proper care and maintenance. I just wish I'd bought it sooner.
